'09 antique INDUSTRIAL SOAP DISPENSER hand KEY LOCK glass GLOBE hardware SOAPURN
For sale is an antique industrial soap dispenser. Like something you might see in the bathroom of an old service station. The maker is"SOAPURN" and it is made in the USA. The earliest patent date on the glass globe is 1909 and the latest is 1917. The entire piece measures about 6.5" from the very top of the globe to the bottom of the dispenser rod. It is also almost 5.5" deep from the wall. The diameter of the globe is about 4" The globe is made of glass and the mount is magnetic. I even see a bubble in the glass which is a testament to it's age! This is a super cool industrial piece but the best part of it is the still intact key which turns a screw into the globe so the globe and contents are locked into place and can't be tampered with. This hollow barrel type key has a square opening that slips into the ... morelocking mechanism wonderfully! Sort of reminds me of a pocket-watch key on steroids! I have seen and sold antique soap dispensers before but I have never seen one with a cool key locking mechanism like this! The entire piece is in very nice shape with typical wear and oxidation from age and use, as pictured. The condition is original. It has not been cleaned. There is some cloudiness to the glass globe and light oxidation on the metal parts. There is one small shallow chip on the base of the globe(see last pic) where it articulates with the different metal parts but this is typical and expected and only visible when removed from the mounting bracket. Finally there are some scratches/scuffing on the metal nipple portion a seen close-up in the 7th picture. Please note that I did not remove the glass globe from the'screw-on nipple dispenser' part. It is on there tight and I did not want to force it. If you choose to try and separate them I would suggest soaking it in warm soapy water for a while. Buyer pays shipping fee based on zip-code. Here is a GENUINE and RARE ANTIQUE powdered soap dispenser circa 1910. When I got it. The nickel plating was almost completely worn away and the parts were fused. I had it restored to full working order and re-nickeled. It is now in fabulous MINT condition! It is brass underneath the nickel and the glass is thick and handblown with little air bubbles in it. The piece is marked and dated as follows: CAPHENIN CHEM CO WAVERLY. IOWA PAT MAR. 8- 10 This soap dispenser is wall mounted. It has a hand lever which releases powdered soap. T o refill with soap. T here is a spring and cam mechanism. You hold the glass globe. Pull towards you to disengage the cam and swivel until the globe is upside down. You can see this in photo# 6 where the glass is shown upside down. The glass unscrews from the base and can be filled. I know it sounds complicated ... morein words. But the action is easily done. This is a heavy. Substantial piece- weighing in at about 2 lbs. It would be stunning in a period kitchen or bathroom. This is a beautiful wall mounted porcelain on steel wall mounted soap dispenser. Probably out of an old gas station. Porcelain is heavy with one small chip on corner as shown. Chrome is in descent condition with only minor pitting. Sight glass is perfect, spring for push button is strong. I filled with water and did not leak. Very nice vintage chrome soap dispenser. We are not 100% sure but we do believe the base metal under the chrome is brass. The chrome has some light scratches. And some very very light pitting only a few hard to notice pin sized spots. The frosted glass reservoir is in very nice undamaged condition. The unit comes apart in three pieces for easy cleaning and refilling. The dispenser dose function as it should but it dose have a slow drip about 1 drip per minute( may need a new seal) Overall it is in very good condition. Up for auction is a VINTAGE LIQUID SOAP DISPENSER. It was patented in 1915. when the restaurant was demolished. This dispenser was commonly used in gas stations and other establishment restrooms. It is a frosted glass container in very good condition with metal fittings. It actually has a nice patina the way it is. The plunger works where the soap comes out. I tested it with water. It definitely works. The measurement is about 8" tall and is about 6" long from wall to end of plunger. It can be opened so liquid soap can be added. This item definitely works! I found this many years ago at the Baldwin school in Birmingham. Michigan. The beautiful building was stupidly demolished in 1974. I lugged this back on my bike. Somewhere along the line I cleaned off all the soap scum and it has been sitting in a box ever since. These things used to be everywhere but I can not honestly say the last time I saw one. Vintage Glass And Chrome Gooseneck Soap Dispenser Exceptional Working Condition
This vintage sink mount soap dispenser is in fantastic shape and still works flawlessly. It is a sink or surface mount unit as opposed to a wall mount. The round mounting flange at the base of the chrome tube measures 2 1/8" in diameter. The mounting bolt projecting directly from the bottom of that flange is complete with two washers and a nut. That bolt is 3/8" in diameter and 2 1/8" long. The threads have very minor rust staining but the nut threads easily on it. The height of the unit from mounting flange to top of glass reservoir is 10" The reservoir is approximately 3-3/4" in diameter and is in near mint condition with no cracks. Chips, or stains. The plunger valve screwed into the bottom of the reservoir still has it's o-ring and functions perfectly without leaking at all. It unscrews from the glass easily. ... moreThe metal ring connecting the glass reservoir to the mounting arm has slight corrosion and two tiny splits in the metal as seen in the pics, so I have not fully disassembled the glass from the mount to avoid possibly breaking the metal ring or the glass. Old Antique Swivel Ball Soap Dispenser - Pax Packwood Co St Louis MO
The base that attaches to the wall is approx. 5 3/8" x 3" And the soap dispenser is 4" x 5" I believe it is made of aluminum or chrome( because a magnet does not stick to it. It weighs 1 lb 13 oz. unboxed. This has paint that is peeling on the base and around the lid. But it would really shine with a good cleaning. Nicely labeled by the company and a unusual fixture to have in your vintage bathroom! No missing parts. No cracks or breaks. Unsure of the exact age- but old!
