Danish modern style cedar chest by Lane in excellent condition. This mid century modern style blanket chest is completely cedar lined. Stands on sturdy walnut peg legs with brass caps, has a bottom pullout drawer and is totally original, excellent with just a couple small nicks. Outside measurements are 18 by 40 and stands 20 high. The top and outside finishes are walnut solids and veneers. Note the date stamp: for those who do not know. Vintage Wood Storage Treasure Dome Chest Trunk with Brass Inlay and Trim Inside Tray Here is a beautiful wood storage chest trunk for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. Not sure whom the maker of this great piece is. My guess is that this chest was made in Asia. But again just a guess. Not sure what the wood type is. It does have some great graining in it. What is really eye catching with this chest is the brass inlay and the designs they make on all sides of the chest with the exception of the bottom. Neat design to hold the lid in place. You open the chest and there is a wood plate on the back of the trunk that holds the lid up instead of just a chain or strap. There is a nice wooden tray with a carrying handle that sits snugly in the top of the chest. I see no major cracks. Splits, or repairs to the wood to ... morereport to you. For sale is a vintage brass colored metal storage cube trunk. It measures 16 inches square and is about 20 inches tall. It is cedar lined inside for protection of items you might store in it. The trunk has handles along the side for ease of carrying. The metal on the outside does show some tarnishing. And some minor dings in the metal. It also has a section where the corner slat needs to be attached tighter. Right now it is taped but should be easy to attach tighter to the box(does not interfere with the function of item) This is a great trunk that could be used for many things. It's got pressed cedar walls by G&K Giles& Kendall of Huntsville, AL(sticker is dated 1979) There is some damage to the wicker, but overall the trunk is in fair to good condition. One wall is separating from the floor- it can be easily fixed by gluing, or tapping short nails or staples in between the current ones. It has nice brass corner guards with textured rivets- the closure and hinges are also brass. Someone has mangled the closure a bit but functionality has not been compromised. Who inherited it from her mother. My best guess is that it was used to store firewood either inside or outside. It has iron hasps and handles; it opens as shown; it sits on an iron base 4" off the ground, although you don't have to use the base if you would like to display this piece indoors. This was purchased in the early 1960's and was known at our house as the"music chest" Mom was a professional musician and kept her sheet music inside. She passed in 1967 and this has been in a closet ever since. Time to"come out of the closet" and be of use to a new owner. Extremely well made and sturdy. As you can see from the inside photo. No staples are seen, even inside. Ivory color vinyl with hip 60's motif black pattern. The sides and back still show the gold flecks of original color. The top still has some of this gold flecking, but most of it is worn off. Hassocks by this maker in this large size are quite rare.
