You may be able to patch it from the backside, but I have also purchased some inexpensive cloth ribbon to that you can see how easy it would be to totally change the look. At that price you could change the straps to match a holiday decor or even to customize it to the rooms that you might use it in. See picts. It's 20 inches long. 12 inches wide and 11 inches tall. You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Ha ndle is covered with leather. No markings on it so I don't know the brand. This is an estate sale purchase and I know nothing about its origin or age. It is clean inside. No o dors. This antique Hartman Trunk Co. Steamer Suitcase/trunk has great appeal and character. Early 1900's. Covered in leather/cowhide with a pink silk interior this piece was sold by Saks Fifth Avenue. Bronze hinges with a really neat mechanism. Over all condition is great for the age. Leather hinge on the back has torn on the left side. The original owners initials are stamped on the front and have not work. The name of the owner is still on a travel tag attached to a Holland America cruise liner tag. A bronze Saks Fifth Avenue tag is also on the front. The name of this trunk is called the PATHFINDER. Really nice piece of history. Priced to sell. Any questions please feel free to ask!

Antique Victorian Era Stool/Suitcase Holder
Antique folding stool from the victorian era(late 1800s) Probably used for putting an open suitcase on. The stool has a carpet like top on hard wood rollers which are mounted on hard wood legs. The backside of the carpet is stamped L.M.Y.B. When open, the piece stands 19 1/2 inches high and 14 x 14 inches wide. When closed, it measures 23 1/4 x 13 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. The wood has been refinished and the carpet has been cleaned. The carpet is starting to separate in the center at the fold line and should be stabilized to prevent it from becoming a hole.

A beautiful antique luggage rack in dark(mahogany or cherry? wood. Nice and sturdy. It has 3 embroidered burlap straps in bright colors. Beautiful curves in the wood and medallions on the sides give it an elegant look. Exterior in excellent condition- embossed Mrs. Sims to the front right hand bottom corner and the maker's name- Finnegans& Co. Manchester and Liverpool- in gilt lettering to the underside of base. In pretty good condition- there is a small split to each end of the leather hinge of the lid. External measurements are 18.5cm x 14cm deep including handle and 5.3cm high. Inside of lid is covered in plush red velvet with leather restraining straps to hold tools- currently a pair of scissors. A steel stiletto with cow bone handle and a steel crochet hook with cow bone and white metal handle. Base is lined in leather- plush velvet recessed compartment to hold a thimble. A Little History below The Virgil Calvier Company was formed in 1890. With Almon Virgil’s wife opening the Virgil Piano School in New York in 1891. The particular model in this auction is for the“Mrs. A.M. Virgil New York” version. The keyboards accurately simulate real piano keyboard action(but without the sound) The manufacturers used lead weights suspended over the rear of the keys to mimic the first faint hit of the jack slipping off of the hammer knuckle followed by the stronger impact of the key front contacting the felt. These keyboards also offer weight of touch control from two to twenty ounces. A good usable item and highly collectible item in great condition too. Hello! This antique Hartmann suitcase is quite a rare find. This lovely dark leather case features a patterned gold fabric inside and was most likely purchased in 1934. The tag inside reads"As exhibited by Hartmann at A Century of Progress" This model was introduced at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. Where the theme was"A Century of Progress" It featured the breakthrough technology of belt leather covering, a basswood frame, and inverted stitching. This beautiful piece of history would make a great display, perfect addition to a collection, or a wonderful authentic prop at a vintage or southern themed wedding reception. This antique case is in good condition considering its age and use. There is normal wear to the leather in the form of cracks. Scratches, etc. The wear is mostly concentrated to the corners and edges ... moreof the case. Structurally the case in wonderful shape, with no dents or damage. Fabulous & Rare Antique Carpet Bag, Incredible Design w/ Urn, Huge Suitcase Size
Wow! When did you last see one of these? This is an original Victorian carpet bag. It's very large: 18" tall. 20" long, and 6" deep. I believe it was used as a travel bag. We all learned about the carpetbaggers after the Civil War. Fantastic classical urn on one side(photo 1) all floral on the reverse side(photo 2)all in very subtle, muted colors. Original brass lock. Some wear to the thick carpet fabric. Inside is lined in fabric, all intact, with one large open pocket, and there is significant staining on the lining. Leather handles are in fine condition.
