Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this ... morepiece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. An inlay medallion of a lamp has been placed atop the swivelling mirror. Two smaller locking drawers are aligned over four larged drawers. Providing ample storage space. All the drawers are made with high quality dovetail construction. The entire piece is raised off of the ground by short tapered square legs sitting on brass and wood casters. Overall. This piece is in very good condition. There are some drip marks along the top edge of the mirror(from glue or wood finish, see picture) but no cracks or other damage. The wood has some wear associated with age, including chips and minor breakage to the veneers or inlay. See pictures. There is also a chip out of the left side finial and the right top drawer is missing its lock. The wood is cracked around the lock hole on the inside of the drawer. The wheels of the casters do no turn easily and probably need to be oiled. No other breaks or repairs. The dresser stands 70 1/4" tall and is 40" wide and 21" deep. Up for sale is a beautiful piece of Henredon Furniture~ It is a Half Moon Shaped Wall Chest or Credenza. This can be used in any number situations. In the bedroom, a hall way or entrance way with a mirror above it. It appears to have drawers in the front and on each side. The sides are for decor only. The actual drawers are only in the front. This item is very heavy and quality made. It measures 37" across the back. 28" tall, and 18" wide in the center. The finish is overall very good condition. There are a couple small scuffs, and scratches that can be easily polished up. This item is for local pick up only. Dayton-Springfield. Craftique mahogany bachelors chest with slide in very good estate condition. It retains its original finish. The chest has the normal light scratches typically seen on a vintage item. It has four dings on the top. These places could be filled with a burn in stick or a well placed phone and lamp could hide these spots. There is a white substance where the feet attach to the chest. This substance can also be seen on the bottom moldings of several drawers. I'm uncertain what this substance is; possibly wax build up. This blemish does not detract from this well constructed piece. Vintage Drexel Mahogany 5 Drawer Chest
Here is a great example of the beauty and quality that Drexel builds into their furniture. The fluted. Angled corners and graceful kneed bracket feet really enhance the classic elegance of this piece. This 5 drawer chest is in overall very good condition. All of the drawers have tight dovetails and operate smoothly. There are a couple of issues on the top including a split that is a few inches long and some small dark spots that are clustered together. While noticeable, these spots are greatly exagerated by the camera. They could be repaired without too much difficulty. I found this item while sorting through an estate on Sanibel and fell in love with it. It has Wonderful eye appeal and has a very captivating essence about it. The Chest is large and VERY HEAVY 20-25+ lbs and has a Mahogany core. I'm not to sure of what type of material the outside is composed of. Though I am fairly certain it is a different material. The chest eloquently lofts an inch off the ground suspended on Bronze Water-Buffalo Horns. One of the legs appears to have been jarred, marked by position of one of the screws; however, it doesn't dilute the integrity of the structure or design. It appears to only be about 20 years old. And I have never seen one like this before. It appears like it was only built at the end of last century, and is solid red mahogany with a rope or gadroon molded top. Open the top to expose a cedar lined interior. The lock has been disabled for safety purposes, per various used furniture laws. This is not made by the Lane Furniture Company out of Alta Vista Virginia, but it looks like their work, as it is high quality. The front has simulated five raised panel drawers, a fleur-de-lis carved simulated center drawer in the base and a beautiful applied incise carved skirt. The legs are cabriole carved ball ... moreand claw. The chest is in the lovely reddish brown stain finish. The top has been refinished as it came in with an array of nicks and dings, and now looks beautiful. The chest is 48 inches wide, 22.5 inches deep and 34 inches high.
