There is some roughness on the metal drain chain plate. The faucets appear to be a cast metal(not iron) as a maginet won't stick to it. I believe it is chrome over brass although I cannot see any brass showing through any where. It is complete with washers and pipe nuts. The pipe ends are 1" and it is 3-1/2" center to center. Mystery vtg plumbing bathtub fixture part ? finial brass stearmpunk decor chrome
This item fascinates me. I have been trying for a long time to figure out what it is. The best I can come up with is some part for perhaps a claw foot bathtub. The chrome(if that is what it is) has a beautiful patina. I am quite sure it must be brass under the chrome as magnet does not stick to it. In fact a magnet will not stick to the screw\ or the nut. The nut looks like it could have been hand forged. The screw is 1 3/8" long and is embedded in the decorative part. The diameter of the base is 2 inches. Not including the screw. The decorative part is 3 3/4" long. I love the fact that there is a little arm with a ring. If you know what this was used for I would appreciate knowing even if you are not interested in bidding. The hinge is actually studded right into the wood of both the upper and lower pieces. The hinge is brass with some plating remaining and will need polished. The ringed wood seat has a split at front and rear in the middle but very solid. Tank cover is in good shape with light slits inbetween wood sections on one end.
