It has very intricate, detailed carvings of villagers in a mountain valley in ancient East Asia. It has some writing and may have an artist's signature on the table top. I think the writing is in a Chinese or Japanese language, but I'm no expert on these things. I am not sure of the material this is made of. It looks like wood but it's more dense and heavier than any normal wood. The lacquered parts on the top of the table are very smooth. I took a lot of pictures to try to show all of the many details but I'm afraid they won't do this justice! The two parts together weigh about 26 lbs together. I would guess this as Rosewood or Mahogany. There appears to be a pink hue to the wood. But I don't know what this is for sure. Origin and age, also unknown. I tried researching this table, but couldn't find any information, I felt comfortable sharing as fact, so please look at the photos and ask any questions. The only history I know for sure, is, this table has been with my family for a number of generations. This table does need to be refinished. It also does have a creak or two. You can see the screws in the photos. And may just need to be tightened a little? The table is stable and will make a beautiful piece for the right owner. The table is 26 inches left to right. 19 1/4 inches back to front, and 21 1/4 inches high. It was made from 2 Hamilton printer's drawers 17 x 22 inches with the original handles. The one drawer also has a slot were the name of the font type was written. The cabinet was crafted from aged wood. Poplar, oak, and pine: Thus reflecting some minor blemishes in the wood. The top is a new piece of non-reflective glass. 21 x 14 1/2 inches. The pictures make the glass look smokey because of this feature. The top drawer will let you use items that are 2 1/2 inches thick because of the spacing the craftsman left between the drawer and the glass. You are bidding on a beautifully detailed Inlaid Marquetry Table made in Italy. I have searched and have not found a more exquisite example. The intricate pattern is absolutely gorgeous. I simply don't have the room in my house to keep it. The top opens to reveal storage and it also has a music box. There are some light scratches in the finish but they are only on the surface and do not touch the wood. They should be easy to buff out or remove. The legs are a little wobbly but again this should be an easy fix. Definitely the most unusual and beautiful antique table I've seen. Rich dark brown wood. Carved flower at each corner. Carved swirl on pedestal, carved leaf design at top of each leg. Metal claw on end of each leg. Green leather top has gold floral printing design and curves down and around the scrolled ends. Leather has wear from use and age. Reclaimed Wood Pine End Table Desk on Antique Sewing Machine Base
This hand crafted tabletop is made from 200 year old southern yellow pine milled from a reclaimed carrying beam from a 1800's barn. The original beam was 12 x 15 inches. The boards for this top are 1 inch thick and top is finished with classic breadboard ends. The boards are glued and biscuited. The breadboard ends are pinned in the center and free on the ends to allow for expansion and contraction due to moisture. The grain and colors are incredible. The boards are stained with a light oak colored stain and finished with Antique Flat polyeurethane. It is mounted to an early 1900's antique sewing machine base from a maker in Maine. This is a custom built antique table ~ Adorably unique with two tiers and curved legs ~ table surfaces have a round/oval design with the top surface having 4 little"points" ~ 1 of which has been damaged Table is a little wobbly and needs a safe spot to live in! Overall it's sturdy and at the moment bottom shelf is stacked with books ~ Measures 29 1/2" High ~ 22" Approx. Top Diameter ~ 14" Approx. Vintage Antique Lion Head Legs Desk, Table, Conference Table with two Draws
Wooden Table carved lion heads for legs. Top has craved edges with leather like top. 83" long 45" wide 32" high. It comes with 6 conference chairs in very good condition. Conference table has been in my office for years, I bought it from an Antique store over 10 years for about $ 2,500.It still looks like new and my clients loved to sit at it, and talk about it.
