This 18 th century American Tilt Top Tea Table is constructed from Cuban Mahogany with a 29 ¾” diameter. Two-board figured top. The base has a classic, Boston Queen Anne design with bold well formed feet and perfect proportions. There are a some issues with this circa-1740s table. The original brass latch has been moved slightly and the wood block has an old repair to the edge. Also. The iron brace on the bottom of the base is an old replacement and one time in the past this table had added castors, which have been missing for many years. I didn’t notice at first, but the tip of one foot was expertly restored some time in the 19 th century be a craftsman. Check the close-up photograph. There are no other problems or any restoration to this 18 th century Boston Tilt Top Tea Table plus you will find it is listed without any reserve. We can handle the shipping of this table. Tea Table features nice deep color and grain pattern. With a scalloped skirt resting on four cabriole legs with slight carving to knees, with protective hard rubber foot terminal ending. There are no candle slides on this model. Construction is rock solid steady with stamped markings underneath, but no maker name, could be any one of several small factories making colonial reproductions of good quality well before the internet and big box store days. Glue blocks on corners undererneath are nice and sound. This is all solid wood, not a cheap chip board foreign mahogany lookalike with sprayed laquer finish that looks garish in person! Condition Report: Slight rub mark to leg as shown. Small burn mark on top. General wear and tear of a used piece. But not abuse; I will clean it up before pickup as I do with all my dealer furniture to presentation quality ready for your home. Beautiful mahogany. Queen Anne-style, tray-top tea table! It has applied shells on front and back apron. It's cabriole legs with carved shells have pad feet. 30 ¼ long x 18 ¼" deep x 28" high. We have been told the pull out shelves were used for cups so the top would not get stained. The mahogany has been refinished and the table is in very good condition. The diameter of this table is about 41" at its widest point and it stands about 19" tall with four ball and claw feet. The table is in good condition with only normal signs of wear and tear visible. The table has an interesting wood grain pattern on the top along with a raised pie crust or scalloped edge around the circumference of the table.
