Antique Mahogany Round Pedestal Carved Drum Table Duncan Phyfe Style 20 1/4 inches x 26 inches PICK-UP CINCINNATI. OHIO Up for your consideration is a great piece of furniture. I do not see a name on it. I believe this is called a Duncan Phyfe style drum table and it has a decorative carved wood band around the sides and brass foot covers. There is a break in the scroll but if turned it is not visible. It has paint on it. Seen in pictures, small amount, and some marks on the top, again, as seen in pictures. Beautiful wood grain and I believe it is mahogany. I do not know the age but due the brass foot covers I am thinking this is an older table. Unusual piece. Solid and heavy. THIS IS A VERY LARGE ROUND 1940'S ACCENT TABLE MADE BY MERSMAN THAT CAN BE PICTURED IN AN ENTRY WAY OR FOYER. IT MEASURES 29" DIAMETER AND IS 28" TALL. IT HAS A DRAWER THAT IS 13.25" X 17" X 2" DEEP. THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR SPLITS TO THIS ITEM. THE LEGS ARE VERY SECURE AND THERE ARE NO WOBBLES. IT APPEARS THAT THERE MAY BE TWO TRIM PIECES MISSING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP OF THE TABLE THAT WERE CONNECTED TO THE PEDESTAL UPRIGHT. THE TOP OF THE TABLE HAS SCRATCHES AND TWO WATER/BURN? Acanthus leaves, etc) Four?brass feet with nice patina Measures 34" at widest points across the top. 29.5" tall I have no idea how old this table could be or who manufactured it. As there are no markings on this table anywhere. We know that my mother-in-law owned it for at least 50 years. CONDITION: The leather top has marks. Chips and"crackling" of the leather- typical of these old leather tops.
