Legs are sturdy design, have a low center of gravity, with all the original hardware including the original solid glass spacers and brass fittings. Put your cherub lamps on top or any lamp that is. This is a very unusual mission table by L& J Stickley that was purchased out of a home in New York last week. It came with six matching ... moreL& J Stickley chairs. But there is no label that we can see on the base or the top that identify it, but the base is definitely L& J. The top is unique because it has a skirt on top with little blocks that usually don’t appear on this kind of L& J table. It’s all of tiger sawn oak, and has the traditional flat cutout legs, the tapered extra-wide trunk that is 15 inches wide across the base, and the table top itself is 48 inches round, solid, and is 29.5 inches high. We do not have any leaves with this table, it is untouched right out of the home, and you can see the base in the photos is the same as the L& J Stickley base in the books. This antique table stand caught my eye. It is very uni que. I could not find what category to put it under. It is hand carved. Rough cut in some areas, like under the table top. Looks like a rooster/chicken bird of some sor t carved legs. Two of the screws look like the original. The other leg ha s a newer screw replaced in that one. I do not know the age. Looks as though it had a design in the center of table. Cannot quite make out what it was. The one tabl e leg needs to be tightened. Not much. I did not tighten. did not want to mess around with it. Antique Vintage Round Oak Butcher Block Table Cast Iron Base
This is an absolutely stunning round oak butcher block table with a beautiful cast iron base. The top measures 49" across. 155" in diameter and 1 3/4" wide. The total height with the base is 29" The top has few imperfections. But there is one small prominent stain or black mark on the table which I have included in the pictures. I chose not to make any changes(sanding, staining, sealing) to the top as it has the perfect imperfections. The base has the original reddish/brown paint. It would be very easy to paint it the color of your choice. There is light surface rust on the legs of the base. This is a very unique piece. I've never seen a round butcher block table top and I don't think the pictures do it justice. I don't know the time period of this table or if the top originally came with the base.
