This is a wonderful mission style arts& crafts hammered copper vase from around the 1900's. The craftsmanship of this piece is excellent. It is ... morehand hammered and has a kick-up bottom. Although it has a very nice patina I can old polish stuck in the seam around the bottom. It must have been polished a long time ago because it still has a nice mellow patina. It is heavy for its size and is not thin copper but a heavy gauge or thickness. It stand 8 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" wide at the base and 3 1/2" at the lip. We purchased this at an estate sale so years back with a collection of Elbert Hubbard books. It is nice heavy quality piece and is the quality of Roycroft and Stickley. Good luck and have fun bidding!

Offered here is this Vintage Solid Wood Side Chair, with a Beautifully Carved Delicate Splat. I am unsure of the age or manufacture of the chair. It has ... morea delicate backrest splat with an intricately carved floral detail in the center. The chair is made of solid wood and has saber legs. The chair seat has been reupholstered with a stain resistant fabric and is in good condition. The chair has a lot of light surface scratches to the finish, and the finish is quite worn in some areas, particularly at the top of the backrest. The chair is a very nice, smaller size. The chair is 33.5” tall, 19” wide across the front of the seat, 17” wide across the back of the seat, is 18” tall at the seat, 15.5” deep at the seat, and 20” deep in total. This is a very nice smaller-sized side chair that would be a lovely addition to your furniture collection.

Antique BRASS Furniture DECORATIONS Enamel Blue Red Decoration Indian Swirl
Whatever their original purpose. They are high quality and intricately decorated brass fittings, we think done in an Indian style. Possibly intended as fittings for stairwell columns, display pillers, bed posts, or even tusk decorations for an elephant statue, these 2 5/8 inch high items have wide bases that are 2 3/4 inches in diameter and tops that are 2 1/8 inches in diameter, for a slight cone shape. One of these nearly identical pieces has holes for nails, while the other doesn't. Together, they weigh 9.5 ounces. Both these fittings are in good overall condition. Some of the enamel dots are missing. But this is nothing that ruins the appearance of the items. One fitting appears to have been slid off its mounting on several occasions, and shows some internal wear(see photos) but this is nothing that would prevent its use. Whatever ... moretheir original purpose, they are a great accessory for anyone's furniture or restoration project. Check out the HUGE selection of items in our eBay store. Antique Vintage 1940's Bedroom Furniture Set Suite Art Deco
This set belonged to my parents. Originally purchased in the mid-1940's. When they liked something, they liked it-and kept it. It's in very good condition. There is a scratch on the top of one side of the dresser, as shown in a photo. One leg apparently had weakened and my father had repaired it with a piece of sheet metal, as shown. It doesn't show on the outside edge, but they always had a long bedspread over it, so it didn't show, anyway. The drawers are all very clean, as shown. See photos and zoom in on images for imperfections. Even with those, it's gorgeous made up. Please see my antique Empire sofa and other listings. Pick up is just north of Indianapolis. ANTIQUE FRENCH NEOCLASSICAL EMPIRE FURNITURE, SEVRES PORCELAIN SILVER
Early Neo-Classicism in France. The Creation of the Louis Seize Style in Architectural Decoration. Furniture and Ormolu, Gold and Silver, and Sevres Porcelain in the Mid-Eighteenth Century” By Svend Eriksen. Published in London by Faber& Faber in 1970. DISCUSSION: An important work on early French Neoclassic furniture. Porcelain, silver, and other arts, based on a vast selection of photographs and much documentary evidence unearthed from the incomplete records that remain from 18th century France(in Paris, for instance, many early records were lost in the riots of 1871, following defeat in the Franco-Prussian War) The author notes- This book springs from the fact that. In the course of some years’ search in museums and private collections, I have come across a variety of objects which would seem to stand stylistically somewhere between ... moreRococo and the Neo-Classical phases–between Louis Quinze and Louis Seize- and I have tried to assemble information that might increase our understanding of the artistic developments of that stage. To put it another way, the book is intended as an aid to the piecing together of a vast jigsaw puzzle which fell on the floor some two hundred years ago.unfortunately many of the pieces seem to have disappeared completely.yet no game is worth playing if it is too easy, and one can derive much pleasure from just piecing bits of it together” DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9"x11" 432 pages plus 9 color and 499 black& white illustrations. antique vintage old solid wood CHILD'S CHAIR scars from age well loved furniture
Second photo shows its size compared to a school chair and an adult chair. SIZE: SEAT is 12" high 11" wide Chair back top is 24" from the floor weighs 4 1/2 pounds CONDITION: see above. In the 3rd picture you can see on the right side a crack that goes down to the spindle. I took closeup with the last 4 photos-No. 8-12. It looks like the spindle has been reglued on the chair seat and to the bowed back frame. I still am not sure that the crack goes completely through to the spindle. You decide. The chair is very sturdy with no shaking side to side from the bottom leg supports and no shaking or movement from the chair back. Either. Back spindles are very tight. Paint is missing along the bottom of the chair legs revealing the wood where the yellow paint had been. This chair has seen a lot of use. Someone liked and used it a lot! ... moreTheir shoes have worn the paint off on the front horizontal leg support piece. You might refer to this a"distressed" but loved. Maybe it needs a new color? It is ready for another child to love and use it also. SHIPPING: You have 4 shipping choices with prices varying from Marengo to your home. Please select the one that best fits you. The chair will be well packaged. Shipping includes Delivery Confirmation for tracking purposes. International buyers please remember your countries import fees.
lot antique doorknob rosettes door knob hardware vintage furniture handle plate
Interesting lot of old doorknob rosettes escutcheons for your consideration. I am not sure of what there original use was for because of there smaller size. I am guessing they were an early doorknob application from entry doors in homes. They might have been an early furniture backplate as well. Could be used either way I suppose depending on your need. No manufacturing marks. There is a very small amount of original copper Jappanning still evident on a couple of these which I think were there original finish. There are ten in this lot measuring an unusual smaller size at 1 1/2 inches across. Center holes are 3/8 of an inch. large enough for a standard 1/4 inch mortise driverod. These are in very nice condition. All the seating cleats are intact with no break or cracks. These would work nicely on cabinet or furniture resoration as well. Antique Bronze Set of 4 Art Nouveau Furniture Feet/Legs
Interesting set of four bronze pieces that would act as the feet for a table(or other piece of furniture) leg. Not sure of a date of origin. But these appear to have some age on them. They're in good shape with minimal signs of wear and a nice patina. The feet measure approximately 4.5" tall, 1.75" deep, and 1.25" wide. The opening where a leg would be inserted is slightly less than an inch in diameter and there is a hole on the back for a screw to hold it in place. These are compiled as a labor of love and as an attempt to get the best quality items into the most appreciative hands. For the sake of accuracy. Weight is posted to the nearest gram but occasionally, if very heavy, in ounces. Weight is always the total weight of the object ... moreand may or may not give a good idea of the scrap value as I do not guess the weight of wood. Mirrors, screws, bolts, or anything that may not be silver or gold. I do not take apart or clean anything after listing an item. It is up to the new owner to clean silver and other metals. My scale computes to the nearest gram and it has been tested and calibrated. A note to silver scrappers: There are those on Ebay who will claim that the weight of an object is less than advertised and demand a rebate after the auction has ended. This is an ongoing trend and these individuals seem to complain if silver prices go down between the day they buy and the day they receive. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With o

Antique Architectural Salvage Furniture Parts Eastlake Pediment/Pine Backsplash
Welcome. Offered today is a lot of 2 antique architectural salvage furniture parts. The first is a pediment from the Victorian period with an Eastlake design. It is made of walnut but I am not 100% sure. It measures 33 1/2" long. It features a scalloped design with a large center detail. The scalloped area is 1 1/2" and the large center is 3 1/8" The piece is 7/8" wide and can sit on a door or window molding. This is in good condition with a lovely patina. The dowels that originally held it in place have broken off but could easily be drilled out if you needed to. The next piece is made of hand planed pine and came off a primitive wash stand or wash table. It was the backsplash. This too has a lovely patina. This measures 32" long and is 5 1/2" wide. It features a curved cut out design on each end. There are ... moretwo holes where it was attached. It is a thin piece. 1/2" but solid. A Fine Vintage Auction Catalog- The Jaime Ortiz-Patino Collection of French Furniture and Decorations" The catalog to an auction sale held in New York by Sotheby’s on May 20. 1992. DISCUSSION: A legendary collection. Filled with superlatives and material that makes the word“superlative” seem dull and insufficient. It was rich in 18th century decorations, including ormolu-mounted Chinese vases, gilt lamps& mirrors, Sevres porcelains, bronzes and other very fine objects. There were also the finest examples of the French cabinetmaker’s art, many pieces of which are illustrated here in folding color plates. ANTIQUE STICKLEY FURNITURE, AMERICAN ARTS & CRAFTS - The GRAY COLLECTION
At Home With Gustav Stickley. Arts& Crafts from the Stephen Gray Collection” Edited by Elizabeth Mankin Kornhauser& Linda H. Roth. Published by the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art& the University Press of New Enland in 2008. DISCUSSION: During his first years as an Arts and Crafts furniture maker. From about mid-1900 to early 1904, Gustav Stickley and his designers created the most significant cabinetwork his firm would ever produce. For the most part made of quarter-sawn American oak, this furniture was substantial, subtly proportioned, essentially rectilinear, and built using traditional joinery—for instance, tenon and key, dovetail, pinned through tenons—and employing hand-wrought copper or iron hardware. These structural elements were both functional and symbolic, literally holding the furniture together while also expressing ... moreits moral aesthetic: though a factory product, every piece was solidly, honestly made. Stephen Gray is among those few who, early on, recognized both the inherent beauty of Arts and Crafts furniture and the value of the Craftsman Ideal. His collection includes many of the rarest forms and has few equals, but in two regards, it is almost singular: Stephen Gray lives with this major collection and has embraced the Craftsman Ideal in a beautiful, simple, personal, regionally sensitive manner. He lives in a nineteenth-century country house and has integrated an important collection with the ideas of decorating, lifestyle, and sensitivity to environment that were central to the Craftsman enterprise. Through Stephen Gray’s collection, it is possible to explore the disparate values of the Arts and Crafts Movement, the Arts and Crafts interior, and the tensions inherent in the pursuit of an aesthetically simple Ideal life. This lavishly illustrated book features Stickley’s furniture, including many photographs of Stickley designs in use, and it also includes some fine examples of art pottery, lighting fixtures, tiles, and color woodblock prints. The essays by David Cathers on Stickl
