If you look at the details that the artist has used…it looks like sand on the bottom of the ocean with waves above. This is quite a remarkable piece of art glass. I have had this in my possession for well over 25 years and was purchased from a craft show in NYC. This piece is very unique and 3 dimensional in design. 3 Studio Art Glasses, hand-crafted tumblers, set of three!
Three eye-catching hand-crafted art glass tumblers. These glasses have the most gorgeous green/yellow/gold/brown coloring. Just beautiful. Two of the glasses have an unusual folded"scallop" like base which gives them integrity and weight. The tallest(and also the thinnest) glass measures 5.75 inches high with a diameter of 2.5 inches. The second tallest glass is also the widest. This glass measures 5.5 inches high with a diameter of 3 inches. The third glass is 5 3/8 inches high with a diameter of approx 3 inches. There are no signatures. As you can see from the included photos these glasses, and their colored swirls, capture the light in a most entrancing way and would be a focal point in any home. Every twist. Bend, crimp was done by hand with only wire pliers/clippers being used as tools. In making these trees I wanted to create something as realistic as possible. While creating each tree I think about how the branches are searching and reaching for sunlight, how they squeeze between branches already existing, how the branches slowly balance the tree by growing in certain directions and creating new branches. In creating a tree in this way, it gives the piece balance and a reality I feel is often missing in wire trees. My trees are not meant to emulate bonsai trees as so many other wire trees are meant to simulate. They are meant to ... morecapture a human’s eye in the same way that natural trees do. I find as I work with the wire. Thinking about the tree I am working on I obtain a certain level of relaxation, of inner peace. Each tree reflecting what I am thinking and feeling when finished. When I study the tree later, I find that I am able to return to this same state. I have asked other people about this affect and they agree, and describe similar states. I hope this carries onto you if you decide to buy one of my trees. Each tree I make is unique in that I have never made a tree exactly like it before. And never will again. When I start to make the tree I never have a specific design or template in mind. I make each tree when the need fills me to make one, and as I bend and twist the wire I think of what I am feeling or thinking and translate that into the twisted wire. These trees are meant to be viewed and enjoyed as a real tree, from every conceivable angle. They were not mounted, nor meant to be viewed on only one side.
