It is unusual for its canted corners which makes it stand out from most caskets of this type. And took great skill to create. The casket has a central panel on the lid with birds and interlacing and Islamic Script? The sides, corners and back are all decorated to a high standard, with some of the silver inlay engraved to produce fine detail. The inside retains some of its original gilding and in the lid, what apears to be Islamic initials. A 19th century Syrian brass bowl probably made in Damascus in the Mamluk style beautifully decorated with applied copper and silver in panels of calligraphy and other decoration. I have left this bowl unpolished but it could easily be if required. It has a makers mark/ signature to the base. A great item which in my opinion is of museum quality. This bowl is 8 inches wide and 4 inches high. Weight just under 900 grams.

I believe the bowl dates from the late 19th century. It is made from copper but has been inlaid with silver in the form of breathtakingly fine Arabic calligraphy. The stunning script are found in small windows separated by beautiful and dense geometric patterns completed using silver. The silver inlay is world class! I cannot stress to you just how high the quality of the tray is. It is made from thick copper and is very heavy. It is not one of the cheap thin trays commonly seen. This type of quality is rarely seen and I can honestly say this tray is Worthy to be in a Museum displaying Islamic artworks. This is by far one of the most finest Islamic tray I have ever sold and most ... morelikely will ever sell. I don't think I will come across another Islamic tray of this quality any time soon. Collectables from Scotland Item: Antique Ottoman Islamic Brass Silver Copper Vase- Mamluk- Carioware- Syrian At some point in the early to middle 20th Century this vase has been converted into a lamp base. They used lead to solder the brass round plaques for the lamp. So they could be removed by reheating the lead. Dimension: 265mm in height(not including the lamp socket at the top) Condition: As already mentioned this vase was converted into a lamp. A brass round plaque has been added to the top. And I believe one was also added to the base. A hole has been drilled into the lower part of the body, this has missed the decoration. Have noticed some lead solder underneath the pillow to the neck of the vase, this may be a sign of an old repair. Antique Persian Islamic Arabic Syrian Copper Enamel Pot Box Marked
This copper box originates from Syria in the early 20 th century. It is copper decorated with a thick enamelled geometric motif on a blue background. Lined with tin. Measuring 2” tall and 2 3/8” wide, the enamelling is in good condition with a few small chips, Note missing piece of enamel on side lid(Please examine the photos) It is marked.

This is AMAZING! Fresh from the antique estate auction is an early COPPER AND BRASS ISLAMIC PLATE/ SERVING TRAY! Advertised at the auction as a Syrian/ Egyptian Service piece! This was part of an auction lot that included A LOT of copper collectibles and I paid BIG for it. I will be selling what is left as I can. I believe this is primarily Copper with Brass banding. This is a HUGE 24” diameter piece. The detail in this piece is incredible. The front has been partially cleaned. The back has been sanded in an area. The auctioneer believed that this was where a hanging piece had been added at one time. I do not know. I know that it does not affect the piece. This is beautiful.
