This collared bronze vase stands some eight inches(8" in height and has a marvelously well done. Hand chased hunting design motif around the body. While I have dated the piece as early 19th century, I actually believe that it could be considerably older. However, I prefer to err on the side of caution and so will leave it to you to decide for yourself. I do absolutely guarantee that it is no later than the 19th century. There are two damaged areas, both of which are pictured. One of them is a"ding" or a dent, if you prefer) while the other is a split that has been closed with a line of solder. They used lead to solder the brass round plaques for the lamp. So they could be removed by reheating the lead. Dimension: 265mm in height(not including the lamp socket at the top) Condition: As already mentioned this vase was converted into a lamp. A brass round plaque has been added to the top. And I believe one was also added to the base. A hole has been drilled into the lower part of the body, this has missed the decoration. Have noticed some lead solder underneath the pillow to the neck of the vase, this may be a sign of an old repair.
