Antique Arabian Islamic Syrian ancient dagger with coin
This knife was purchased in the deserts of Syria. In a small Bedouin camp. The man, who sold it, said that it was owned by his grandfather's grandfather. Consequently, the age of the dagger may be about 150- 200 years. However, the analysis of wood scabbard and overall wear of the metal, says that this exhibit has really more than a century. Bedouin said that by this knife 6 people were killed and destroyed one demon, for which his great-grandfather raced through the desert for 10 years, until the local witch had knocked on the blade special characters(figuers) you can see them on a knife) which helped him to destroy the demon. Of course, a lot of stories told by a Bedouin in fact are only scary fables, but in every fable there is always a grain of truth. Knife is handmade with using of precious metals. Condition- good.

I have left this bowl unpolished but it could easily be if required. It has a makers mark/ signature to the base. A great item which in my opinion is of museum quality. This bowl is 8 inches wide and 4 inches high. Weight just under 900 grams.

They used lead to solder the brass round plaques for the lamp. So they could be removed by reheating the lead. Dimension: 265mm in height(not including the lamp socket at the top) Condition: As already mentioned this vase was converted into a lamp. A brass round plaque has been added to the top. And I believe one was also added to the base. A hole has been drilled into the lower part of the body, this has missed the decoration. Have noticed some lead solder underneath the pillow to the neck of the vase, this may be a sign of an old repair. This 3-footed pot is old and other than that we don't know much more about it- We were told about its age by the man we acquired from- and he wasn't sure what it was used for but believed it dates as early as the 16th century. Please take a look at posted photos to consider size and condition- no where does this piece appear broken or cracked but does have one pin hole at one foot- did not find any other but something could be missed. Hand hammered and dovetailed copper with a delightful eastern garden flowers inlaid with multi colored champleve enamels, and Arabic- Islamic Calligraphy. This antique enamel is rarely seen, and this particular style is rarer still. in excellent antique condition, with only minor crazing. An Islamic Persian or Syrian Brass Kashkul or Beggar's Bowl. C.1900 A simple boat shaped brass kashkul or beggar's bowl. That has horse or dragon head finials for attaching a cord or chain and a line of incised script along either side. It probably came from Persia or Syria and dates to circa 1900. There is one small split in the metal near one of the finials which can be clearly seen in the photos. Otherwise in good worn condition. Overall Length: 15.05 ins/ 38.2 cms. The bowl is made from brass and has been inlaid with silver and copper. The silver inlay has been completed in the form of beautiful Arabic calligraphy completed to a very high standard. The copper inlay has been used to add detail to around the calligraphy. There is further silver and copper inlay work to the bowl in the form of arabesque motifs. The bowl is very fine and beautiful.
