Persian Antique Qajar Islamic Chased Copper Tinned Bowl Cartouches Stamped Mark I just purchased this antique Persian tinned copper bowl from a local estate here in Central Virginia. I believe this piece dates to the early Qajar dynasty but please review the pics and ask any questions to fully evaluate. This is an area I have limited expertise. The piece is well executed with nice weight to the hand hammered single piece of copper which makes up the bowl, the foot is applied. The surface is decorated with tightly arranged cartouches each showing a different animal grouping. The borders are also hand chased and engraved with bands of stylized florals. The copper has a rich patina with traces of the original tinning relatively uniform over the surface. The bowl measures 8 ½" in diameter and 4 1/8" deep. The piece is in very good ... morecondition with no damage or restoration, no breaks/ hairlines or dents. The interior shows appropriate fine age wear on the lower surface. This is a very old and heavy copper tray. It is almost 11 lbs. and is 28" in diameter. It is hand tooled in an ancient Persian design of a lovely woman holding a flower. A floral pattern around the woman. Has some spots in top edge of tray which appears from something being spilled. Needs a good cleaning and polishing. Selling in" as found"condition. Unique set of antique Kashmir/ Persian handcrafted repousse chased plated copper decorative tableware Beautifully hand made tinned copper metalwork dating from the second half of the 19th century- serving tray. Two beakers and a mug. Unique set in great condition- without repairs. Fine natural colour and patina. The entire surface area of the beakers and mug is finished with finely reposse& chased floral decorations- trailing vines and floral designs are divided by friezes in fairly low relief. Beakers are of cylindrical tapering form and are different in size. With slightly different variation of ornament. The larger measures approximately 145mm high with the diameter of opening ~90mm and 60mm at the base while the smaller one measures 135mm x 80mm x 55mm. This has wonderful geometrical floral or vegetal designs in a repetition known as arabesque. Huge Antique Islamic Persian Ornately Chased Tinned Copper Tea Coffee Pot Kettle
For consideration. A huge tinned, copper tea or coffee pot with beautifully chased design overall. The pot has a painted wood handle supported by ornate brass sides that swivel, for easy filling of the pot. The tin is showing wear as one can see in the photos and there is a small dent to the base; otherwise, the pot is in good condition. It measures 13 1/2" tall; 11" with the handle down. Antique copper Indo-Persian bottle vase hand chased repousse Islamic 10 inches
This footed teapot is hand chased and is made of bronze and copper. The teapot is 6 ¾ inches high to the top of the lid. It is 9 ¾ inches across including the handle and spout. The teapot is decorated with floral decoration done in repousse style. The teapot has three attached feet that are made of bronze. They look to be original. The bottom has etched birds. The teapot has a fair amount of verdigris. We believe this dates to the 19 th century and is from the Persian area. The top has wear on the edge in a spot. Possibly from damage. It also has a small plug. There is a small bend on the inside of the lid. There is a dent on the bottom of the teapot. There are no other issues.

The tray is beautifully executed. One of the finest examples I've seen, with intricate detail to the peacock's head features, individual features, and finely textured ground. Each feather"eye" is pierced as well as the intricately scrolled background. The copper has a striking finish with soft lustre highlighted with verdigris accents to the recessed lines. The piece is stamped with two hallmarks at the rim edge, one a stylized bird the other geometric characters. The tray measures 9" in diameter and ½" deep. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage and only trace surface wear. This listing is for a super Islamic/Middle Eastern metal vessel/jug, chased tinned copper and probably dating from the 19th Century. The vessel is hand-beaten from sheet copper in a typical form with a bulbous body, tall slightly flared neck, with an iron handle to the rear, I think it was supposed to have had a lid but this has long since broken off, the body has floral and figural decoration all over, engraved through the tin layer to show the copper beneath. In all a really super piece of Islamic metalware! It measures 7 1/2" high and 6 1/2" across at its widest. Including the handle. There is no makers mark to this item. Silver plated(cast not sheet) copper vase of large size, which has been very finely chased all over with swirling foliate designs and palmate cartouches. We believe this vase is Persian or Indo-Persian and would probably date to the mid 19th Century or earlier. Vintage Persian? Copper Brass Bowl Repousse Chased Metal Embossed Animal Planter
Vintage Metal Bowl/Planter Recent estate find. Measures approximately 6-1/4” wide and 4-1/4” tall. The opening is about 4” across. The metal bowl weighs 14.3 ounces. It is unmarked. I believe Persian in origin. But I could be terribly wrong. I am not sure if the metal is brass or copper. It has a copper appearance, but there are areas that are more of a brassy yellow. Maybe bronze– I don’t know. The metal does not attract a magnet. The item certainly looks old, but I’m not sure how old. Maybe it was made to look older than it actually is. You all know so much more about it than I do. It’s in acceptable vintage condition. The top edge has an approximate 1” crease or compacted separation that I think was done in the making. But I could be wrong, so please closely reviewing the pics to see what you think. The bottom has a tiny hole that is approximately ... more3/16” long and not even 1mm wide. Near this whole on the exterior of the bottom, there is an approximate 1” area of a foreign greyish metal or residue that I believe is from this area being repaired or better secured. It’s definitely some sort of touch up or repair work. The inside of the bowl is badly corroded or dirtied from clearly being well used. There is a nasty amount of residue throughout. Lots of blackish. Greenish and whitish residue. Much of this residue is caked up in areas. Thick and chunky. Ugly amount of dirtiness and related wear from being poorly cared for and never cleaned. I only quickly sprayed this item down. I made no attempts to give it a detailed cleaning. I am offering it as found. You should assume that you will have to learn to love it exactly as it is. The outside of the bowl has whitish residue in essentially all of the tight spots. Simply spraying water on it doesn’t make it go away. A detailed cleaning may help remove it. But I am not sure I would want to. I think the residue adds definition to the details. I assume this residue is oxidation related. I could be wrong. Maybe much of this discoloration is old polish residue? The details

This bowl has intricate chasing metal work along the top border. And the 4 images on the sides. These images look like they could be Hindu or Buddhist, but the stamped writing does not look like it is. This metal bowl is of Middle Eastern design. The top edge is rolled over. The metal is of unknown material. But it was checked for silver content and you can see on the bottom that it is not silver. We are not aware of what the material is. The bowl is not heavy in weight. The overall work is well done. On one side between the repeating pattern of the folded praying hands figure. There is stamped writing in what looks like Hebrew or Arabic with the name PEARL KOESTER written in English. This is believed to be a Hebrew or Arabic ceremonial bowl because of this imprint. Vintage Middle Eastern brass and copper chased pot with lid
A small brass and copper pot with lid made in the traditional Middle Eastern brass ware design with ornate. Chased decoration on all exterior surfaces, including the base. This beautifully-made piece may have been used for storing spices or sweetmeats perhaps: the lid fits tightly to enclose the contents. The design on the base is a complex geometric pattern that forms a'sunflower'like shape(please see the images above for more detailed information) There are no maker's marks or indications of who made this and where it originated. Tinned Copper Chased Middle Eastern Islamic Engraved Covered Bowl Lidded Pot
I am offering this exquisite chased covered bowl or pot. With the lid on. It is 5 1/2 inches tall including the height of the handle. The bowl is 3 1/2 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter at the top widening to 8 1/4 inches at the bottom. I think it is tin over the copper but I'm not 100% certain- it could be silvered copper. It actually looks like pewter over copper having a very warm, rich patina. It is not marked or signed and I'm not 100% certain of its origins but I highly suspect it to be Middle Eastern and probably Persian or Islamic. I also do not know its age- whether it is antique or vintage. The chased design is very intricate and lovely with some animal and birds incorporated into the pattern. The stylized animals on the bowl look like gazelle or antelope and a tiger. On the lid, there are some that look like gazelle, ... morebirds and some sort of spotted animal. Some of the design, in the area one inch below the rim, might be writing. Regarding condition, there is finish wear, some small dings and dents. I have included a picture of the more noticeable dent that is on the bottom- it's about 3 to 3 1/2 inches away from the center of the bottom. Early 19 th Century Silver? or Tin over Copper Islamic Covered Pot I am offering this exquisite chased covered bowl or pot. With the lid on. It is 5 1/2 to 6 ½ inches tall including the height of the handle. The bowl is 2 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. The top is 2 ½ inches to 3 ½ inches tall, depending on the handle position. I think it is tin over the copper but I'm not 100% certain- it could be silver over copper. It has a very warm, rich patina. It is not marked or signed and I'm not 100% certain of its origins but I believe it is Islamic and from the 19 th century based on the history I learned from the family. The chased design is very intricate and lovely with hearts and patterns. The lid has chains made of the same material that connect the top to the bottom. The top has a very sturdy handle as well as ... morea latch so you could lock the pot up if you wanted to. I believe it may have been used for spices. Regarding condition. There are a few minor dents on the bottom– see pictures. The container is not perfectly round. It needs to be bent back in position. I did not want to change it or try to bend it. THE TOP AND BOTTOM DO FIT TOGETHER AND CLOSE SECURELY. I left all the patina. I think it can be cleaned up as much as you would like for it to be. A similar item sold for over $500 on EBay recently. Antique? Vintage 29" Copper Repousse Chased Islamic Persian Table Top Tray
I am not an expert in Middle Eastern copper items. I am guessing that this tray is Islamic or Persian or both. I am relatively sure that it is Middle Eastern. I purchased this copper tray at an estate sale and I do not know its history. Judging by the nature of the estate sale which was for a world traveling teacher. I would guess that it was acquired at least as early as the 1950's. As you can see it is generally nice and shiny as one would not expect of an antique piece. However, there are small areas where there is dark tarnish that looks to me like it is from age. Also, the low areas of the designs are very dark with what looks like tarnish. I do not know if that is from time or if it was made that way. I think that this might be antique tray that has been polished relatively recently. My photos should give you a good idea of what ... moreI am talking about. I find the amount of detail to be remarkable. It measures close to 29 ¼ inches diameter by about 2 inches deep. It weighs about 10 pounds 5.5 ounces. It is solid copper. The condition is much like you see in the 27 photos seen after the general description. It is generally in excellent condition. There is tarnish that you can see. I see a few long and straight scratches that I think might have been made by the artist to orientate his work. I see a few very light scratches on the top that I think are probably from the tray being used. I see some light and a few deeper scratches on the underside that are from it being used. There are some tiny spots of white paint along the edge of the underside. About half of them are showing in a close-up. I see just a few very tiny spots of white paint on the lower part of the side. I see a tiny amount of verdigris or green oxidation on the side. Otherwise. It is generally fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I am offering a local pick-up option for this tray. Local pick-up must be at the Albany. Oregon Library parking lot when the library is open and payment must be cash. N
