ITEM DESCRIPTION This auction is for a beautiful large antique Islamic copper and enamel stand. Possibly for a jardiniere or vase? Never seen anything like it. It is beautifully enamelled and pierced. The top section comes off. Measures 67.5cm/26.5 inches tall. As you can see in the pics it is not perfect with the usual losses to the enamel to the rim. Base and to the top and a little to the bottom of the central shaft as per the large and clear pics, the base is slightly compressed in places. Estate find, is Islamic and from the Middle East, perhaps, Damascus or Aleppo Syria, or even Turkey. The pot is of an impressive size. It is hand hammered copper. With a nice layering of enamel. Around the sides are three medallions, which contain an inscription, perhaps, a story is being told, or maybe these are verses from the Koran, in any event, they look to be written in Arabic Kufic. I would say the condition is remarkable. For its age, as I think this dates to somewhere in the early 1800's? However. It is not without damage. Some of the enameling is missing. Made of brass, rectangular in form, with a hinged lid. The lid and sides are decorated with chased technique and champleve style enamel, in black. Blue red enamel. To depict a peacock and foliage on the lid, and Arabesques around the sides, in the Islamic style. The hinged lid has a bow-shaped clasp which opens to a cedar wood lined interior, large enough to store cigars. The underside is with the stamped maker's trademark'MADE IN INDIA' above a picture of an elephant. This box measures 20.9 cm in length, 11.0 cm in width, and 7.2 cm in height. It weighs 914 grams. The vibrant colours combined with the striking Gold of the Gilt makes this a breathtakingly beautiful item. I think it dates from late 19th Century during late 1800's. Decorated with Islamic script, and dating to around the late 19th/ early 20th century. The two piece sprinkler has a circular tapered pedestal foot. A bulbous body, and a long tapered neck with a knopped detail& a pierced rose finial. The neck unscrews at the base to enable filling. The sprinkler has a hand carved& black enamel decoration all over. With Islamic script around the body- please see all photos& click to enlarge. Condition is good& solid with a good thread and only the expected marks& wear commensurate with age. The only point to note is that the neck leans slightly. The sprinkler stands just under 8" 20cm tall.

19th century Persian museum quality silver & enamel inlaid tray Islamic Art
This jewel-like calligrapher’s tray is a work of art in the literal sense. It features museum quality design carved or chased into the bronze or brass. Filled with silver and black enamel work. Every millimetre of the tray is decorated and the quality if each tiny section of the design is high throughout. One of the things that I just love about this piece is that the artist has made sure that the design feels subtly‘alive’ by not sticking to a strictly symmetrical pattern. Although it seems perfectly symmetrical at fist, you’ll notice that if you study it on one side of a beautifully sinuous foliage design he has chased in an additional lotus bloom and single silver leaf, reflecting the true beauty of the natural world. There are stunning instances of this all over the piece. The hand that made this was extraordinarily skilled. Each tiny ... morebloom, leaf or star is done in different metals, so tiny individual petals are gold, next to silver. The central motif appears to be six lamps with lotus blooms curling around them. The border to the tray looks almost like butterfly wings. The back of the piece is‘tinned’ or silvered. It’s a thick covering of another silver metal, not a thin plating method. Only on the corners has it worn through after many years. Late 18 th century or early 19 th. Not a tourist piece. No reserve. It has a few issues. Sections of the black enamel have disappeared at both ends of the tray(where you grip it and one one side a little way into the base of the tray) There is a small dent to one small section of the rim and a small nibble to the metal on the rim(all clearly photographed) Luckily this does not detract at all as the metalwork is still pristine. It is heavy at just under 1.5 kg’s. It is 40cm’s long and 24cm’s wide.

There is a beautiful floral design enamel decoration and a section of velvet on the sheath. One of the scabbard mounts is somewhat detached or loose. I can see the metal looks different in that one spot where it must have been soldered once before. The original chain link is missing. So I added a section of a chain from my personal jewelry. The blade is 9 inches long and the total length of the dagger with the scabbard is 14 1/2 inches. This knife is in good condition for it's age. It is a granular blade with a random pattern. This is an antique Islamic bowl. Date unknown. It is very unusual as there is an articulated. Removeable fish in the centre. Could this possibly be a bowl for soup? There is an islamic enscription around the edge with the words Mesopotamia 1920. A scene depicting a working day runs around the edge ofthe bowl this includes a figure carrying water, fishermen in a fishing boat, a figure on horseback, a sailing boat, two camels being led, a figure on a donkey and two peacocks in a tree. The inside of the bowl has the articulated fish and some delicate enamel paint work. The handle has a dove on its top. There are a couple of small dings and some surface scratches but the overall condition is lovely and this is a very unusual piece of silver ware. Fine Quality Antique Islamic Persian Qajar Silver Enamel Tea Set Isfahan
For sale is this antique Islamic Persian tea set. The tea set consists of a large SIGNED tray. A sugar bowl, six glasses with glass cup holders and six spoons. The have been beautifully enamelled by hand. The tray has been signed by the artist. It has a large mosque at the centre beautifully surrounded by floral patterns. The rest of the tea set has been decorated in a similar style. The enamel work has been completed on copper. However the edges of the tray and handle of glass holders and the sugar bowl and spoons are made from a silver coloured metal. I am not sure what the metal is because it does NOT test as normal high grade silver. I think it is most likely low grade silver. However because I am unsure. I will be selling it as"White Metal" This is a beautiful tea set completed to perfection by the master. A real breathtaking ... moreitem offered with no reserve. It is excellent to see the glasses that fit inside the holders as well. It even has all six spoons to make it a complete set. Size and weight The size of the tray is 34.5cm X 24.2cm The height of the sugar bowl is 6.5cm up to the handles The length of the sugar bowl from one handle to the other is 15.3cm The diameter of the glass cup holders at the base is 5.4cm. The height up to the handles is 5.8cm. The tray weighs 806.1 grams The sugar bowl weighs 219.1 grams The total weight of all the six glass cup holders NOT INCLUDING GLASS CUPS is 425.2 grams. The total weight of the six spoons is 61 grams. The whole set is in excellent condition as you can see from the photos above. There are a few very small areas of wear on the enamel work. In mostly edges so not noticeable much. The glass cups are all in excellent condition. A beautiful tea set in excellent overall condition.

Rare Antique Ottoman Turkish Islamic Gilt Enamel Zarf c1870 ; Abdul Hamid II
Exceptional Antique Turkish Ottoman era Gilt Metal and Enamel Zarf. c1870 Zarfs were coffee cup holders. Although coffee was probably discovered in Ethiopia it was in Ottoman Turkey in the 13th century that it became popular as a beverage. As with the serving of tea in China and Japan. The serving of coffee in the Ottoman Empire was a complex ritual. It was served in small cups which were placed inside zarfs to protect the cup and also the fingers of the drinker from the hot liquid. Cups themselves were typically porcelain but it was the holder, being the visible part that tended to be more ornamentated and collected these days. Zarfs were often metal and silver, gold, copper and brass were the most common materials used although there are examples made of various animal derived materials as well as woods. This is a beautiful example of exceptional ... morerarity and an incredible survivor. Beautiful hand enameled flowers and gilded on metal with a deep robin egg turquoise colour interior. It dates to the era of Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The last absolute ruler of the Ottoman Empire(see his portrait in picture 5) Beautifully proportioned and tactile. It has a rim diameter of 64mm and weighs 54g. Exceptional Ottoman era Zarf. A serious piece of genuine antique Islamic art.

Interesting old vintage or Antique; Arabic/ Islamic white metal Tea Caddy Box. Ive never seen any thing quite like it but it looks north african. Perhaps Algerian/ Berber rather than say Persian or Middle Eastern. It's made fairly naively from a white metal. Its not magnetic but I think it is either a low grade silver or silver plated. It is decorated all over in a fairly naive but beautiful cloisonne enamel. Tactile and beautifully proportioned with a height of 75mm overall and a diameter of 67mm. It weighs 132g.
