Wonderfull and very massive hilt with pronounced ears made from marine or walrus i vrY. Total lenght in scabbard 73 cm. Blade lenght 56.5 cm. A yataghan for a high yannissary officer or for a spahi. Ra re strai g ht blade. There are speculations that strai g ht bladed yatagans were used mostl y by Serbian and Monenegrin orthodox christ ian warriors. The h i lt is not bone. Beautiful antique Turkey Ottoman Middle East Copper Water Pitcher and Bowl Basin. Pitcher stands 16 1/2" tall and spans 10" from tip of spout to handle. The cap is attached with its original hinge and is functional. The handle to the pitcher is securely attached at the top but is not connected at the bottom of the handle. The bowl is 10 1/2" in diameter and 5" deep. The rim of the bowl has detailed etching around the perimeter. The bottom of the bowl does have some dents as part of normal use. The Pitcher fits nicely into the bowl for display. This is a very unique and beautiful set.

Large 14.5" Round Tile Persian Kashan Turkish Ottoman Isnik Description- A very large middle eastern tile with handpainted decoration of a family life scene. Very nice painting. Excellent surface condition and only minor condition issues(see condition below) I'm no expert on this type of art, perhaps Persian or Turkish in origin. Note that the edge of the tile is mostly glazed. Similar tiles that I have found online indicate that this tile could be as early as the 12th or 13th century, but I am certain that it is at least 19th century or before. It came from a local estate in Dallas, Texas that included some Pre-columbian North American Art as well as some Ancient Southeast Asian Pottery, so I feel good about the chances that this piece is ancient. Size- This very large tile is 14-1/2" in diameter and 3/4" thick(36.8 x ... more1.9 cm) It weighs 8 lbs. 10 oz. Condition- I have done my best to show the condition which is basically very good for a tile of this age. The surface has almost no scuffs or scratches. There is considerable crazing and some minor discoloring. There are a number of glaze misses. Particularly in the lower right quadrant as shown in photos 4& 5. These are NOT chips or flakes, they are spots where the glaze and paint didn't cover in the original firing of the tile. There is only one large flake on the upper right side that measures about 3/4" x 1/4" This is shown closeup in photos 6& 7. In photos 8& 9 you can see a long mold line that runs the length of the tile. This is NOT a crack or a repair, just a mold line. I don't see any cracks or repairs on this tile, front or back. The last two photos show spots along the edge of the tile where the glaze is thick and uneven. Perhaps even broken. I think this is one of the best signs of the age of the tile. BID CONFIDENTLY! The blade has raised koftgari with script on one side and decorative on the other. It seems there is a signature also made with koftgari on the blade. The blade is made from nice well defined wootz. This is a good size dagger 15 inches overall with sheath. The blade is 8 inches long. The dagger is is in wonderful condition with an exception for the bolster area where there is a crack that was repaired at one point, no movement of the blade. For auction is this beautiful antique Islamic Ottoman Quran. This is one Juz of a Quran- a partial Quran. The verses are nearer to the end. This Juz is number 29. The second to last one. The Quran is hand written and has been decorated beautifully. It comes with its original cover. Just the cover alone is worth around £300- £400. I have uploaded a photo that shows five of these Ottoman covers selling in auction for £7500! I must add however the covers at auction were older than from the Quran I am selling. But it is just so get an idea. I have taken photos of a few pages- not all of them. It has been beautifully decorated and illuminated with gilding etc. Please check photos below. Size The height is 23cm = 9.1 inches. The width is 16cm = 6.3 inches. The Quran is in very good condition. All the pages are there. There is no ... moremissing pages. Islamic Persian Turkish Ottoman Empire? Antique Pottery Vase
I purchased this vase from a middle aged man who said that it had belonged to his mother and that he was sure that it was antique. I am not an expert when it comes to Middle Eastern antiques. This vase looks antique to me and compares well with some of the antique Middle Eastern vases that I have found on the internet. I am not sure of the specific culture. I leave it to the buyer to determine exactly where and when it was made. It measures about 8 ¾ inches tall. It weighs about 1 pound.2 ounces. It is made from some kind of clay that I have not identified. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. It is generally in very good to excellent condition. I think that the uneven color in the background that looks like possible stains is probably the way that it was made. There are some fine lines or crackle like cracks in the glaze ... morethat I believe are from when it was fired. A close-up shows a tiny spot on the neck that I think is from when it was made rather than it being bumped. There is a tiny spot of raised clay or perhaps other impurity in the middle of it. Two other close-ups show a small/tiny area along the bottom edge where it looks like a tiny amount of the surface has flaked off. Otherwise. This vase is fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of its general condition. I guarantee this vase to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description.
