ANTIQUE 19th century ISLAMIC PERSIAN INDIAN HANDWORKED BRASS ROSEWATER SPRINKLER
Description This antique circa 19th century or earlier Islamic Persian or Indian rose water sprinkler. Is of gorgeous melon form probably cast in brass but with hand worked filing to all the ribs. It has a tapered spout attached with lovely old screw thread and the short stem spreading base has knurled rope twist at the top and lobed edge at the rim. This fabulous old piece has a strange groove decoration around the neck of the spout. Which we believe may have been caused by wire or cord bindings for suspension tied around and worn and etched into the metal over time with the action of dust and rosewater liquids helping the process, there are many other old dinks, marks and wear to the surfaces. There is old patination in the protected areas where polishing could not reach, the underside of the base has that lovely soft smooth feel you get ... moreon really old metalwork and there is a reddish patina to the inner edge of the spout where it screws in. It is at least 19th Century. It is minimum 100 years old. I am not sure where it is from. It could be Persian or Ottoman? It is made from solid silver over pottery. There is beautiful filigree silver work. I have not cleaned the silver. It is very old and tarnished due to its old age. The stem has been inlaid with mother of pearl. It is breathtaking. The stem is not as old as the top. It is a 20th Century stem. The hookah base has been made especially for the Persian/ Islamic market. It has been beautiful cut. Enamelled, and gilding with breathtaking floral patterns. I am not sure of exact age of the glass base but it is a 20th Century piece. I had ... morean exact pair to the hookah base which I sold recently. The three parts of the Hookah have been put together by me. They were not originally like this together. The hookah top is very old- 19th Century. But the mother of pearl inlaid stem and the base are both 20th Century. LARGE ANTIQUE ISLAMIC PERSIAN ? INDIAN POTTERY VASE, 19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER
This is a large Islamic Vase dating from at least the 19th century and possibly much earlier. Looks a good early piece this one as you will see on the photos of the underside. I thought it was Indian at first but then maybe it's persian because of the bird decoration. I'm sure that collectors of Islamic pottery will know. It's been repaired many years ago around the middle of the body. I have included photos of the inside so you can see and also the outside where you will see a line. There is a very small hole situated close to that line which you will see it on photo 9. At the top of the vase you will see a small fresh chip. Please note I have now found the missing piece since I took the photos. It's a bit worn down/ rubbed on the edge but at least the piece is now there and can be attached by somebody who knows what they ... moreare doing. There is a faint crack running from the chip that is about 2 cm below the top rim. This runs half way around the vase and is a bit loose by the chip. I suspect somebody has been lifting the vase from the top which has made it slightly fragile in that area. Excellent colours and designs and a very interesting piece of Islamic pottery. ANTIQUE PERSIAN Indian QAJAR MIDDLE EASTERN ISLAMIC Miniature PAINTING ART
This was a piece that came from a house clean out. It was framed by John Wanamaker. His department stores are famous of his time. Mid 1800s to early 1900s. I open the piece to examine the art inside. It was sealed with black paper. Probably not the best thing to do not being a professional but we didn't think at the time this was tremendously valuable. I believe this could be a rare piece. The paper is extremely fine and now mounted on board. I believe it was painted with cat hair paint brush. Red. Blue,green and silver that turns black when oxidized was used a lot. I'm not sure the exact year this was made but could be as long ago as 1500A.D. I wish I knew for sure but until I can find an expert I'm selling it for a low price. It measures 12x8 inches.

This monumental ewer and basin is the largest I have ever seen. It is Islamic Kashmiri and dates from the 19th century, most likely around 1860's. It is made from copper and has been hand chased and carved with very very fine floral motifs of the highest standards. The spout on the ewer has been mounted with the head of a mythical creature. This ewer truly belongs in a Museum displaying Islamic antiques. Or perhaps in a palace for royals. It is truly a magnificent set. The height of the basin and ewer is approx 80cm!
