The legs are fret or cut work and sturdy with no re-welds. In the 1800's fret work was cut out by hand using a tool similar to a dental knife. The lidded sugar bowl stands 5 1/2 inches tall and is 6 1/2 inches wide. The waste bowl stands 5 1/4 inches tall and is 6 inches wide. Both pieces are tarnished and in overall good condition. The sugar bowl has two small dents and the waste bowl has one small dent while both have a couple barely noticeable nicks. Shabby Antique Eastlake Victorian Era Wilcox Silver Co Covered Master Sugar Bowl Description: This ornate antique silver item was made by the Wilcox Silver Company and it measures approx. 7 3/4 in. wide to the edges of the handles x 3 3/4 in. wide x 9 1/2 in. tall to the top of the finial. I do not know what it was meant to be used for but the closest guess would be a Master Sugar bowl. It has beautiful raised designs of mythological winged creatures and people on the surface and it stands on lovely legs with hooves. It is in great condition with no dents but the silver finish has worn away and it has a dull appearance. It weighs just over 1 lb. 13 oz. before packing.
