Antique Providence Silverplate Co. Quadruple Plate#412 Sugar and Creamer Set. From an estate and the silver salt shaker and silver bracket ring were stuffed inside. Measure 3.75 inches tall with approximate 12 inch circumference and 3& 3/8 inch diameter on top from outside rim to outside rim. Intricate scroll work design on handles and creamer spout. Etched flower design. Overall condition is good-they appear to be quite old. But have no known date. Half inch scratch on front of sugar bowl under the neck-could be from manufacture. Also small dent on the back side. Creamer has three very small dents on back side and corrosion near bottom of handle on back side. Salt shaker has no markings and the lid won't screw on and lid is corroded. This item measures 2.5 inches tall with 1 inch diameter across top opening. You are bidding on an antique Aesthetic Era Quadruple Silverplate Cup or Waste Bowl made by Meriden Brittania Company. At first I thought this was a cup. But after further research, I found that it could also be considered a waste bowl. The cup/waste bowl has a satin finish with a lovely bright-cut engraving of a vine bearing leaves and berries encircling the cup. The interior of the cup/waste bowl has a gold wash. Contrasting beautifully with the silver plate. The bottom bears a Scale within a Circle mark and reads. Meriden B Co. Another circle reads, Quadruple Plate" above the number"026. The Meriden Brittania Co. produced beautiful silverplate objects during the Aesthetic Era. Naturalistic themes were popular during this time which ran from the mid-1800's until early 1900. Antique silver plate from this era was most commonly ... moremarked"Quadruple Plate" denoting that 4 layers of silver plate were used on the piece. The term"Quadruple Plate" was rarely used after 1900. The cup/waste bowl bears normal and expected surface marks from age and use. Especially on the interior, along with a couple of small scratches. There is also some light loss of plating in spots. The bottom of the piece does bear some scratches and surface marks from use. The cup/waste bowl measures 2 3/4" in height and 3 1/2" across the mouth. This is a very nice antique Quadruple Silverplate Cup/Waste Bowl from the Meriden Brittania Co. Up for sale is this Wilcox Silverplate Co. Covered Sugar Bowl This sugar bowl has been used but it appears in good condition. It has a couple of dings around the edge and one big dent on the back. Please see photo 5 for details. It needs some cleaning. This sugar bowl has been engraved and it reads"LMJ" on the front. Meanwhile it is marked"Quadruple Plate Wilcox Silverplate Co. Antique~Homan Silverplate Co~Pattern2014~Quadruple Plate~Creamer&Sugar Bowl~1896
This creamer and sugar bowl are at least 110 years old. They were made sometime between 1896 and 1904 by the Homan Silverplate Co. These belonged to my husband’s great grandmother. These pieces are pattern 2014. These are beautiful pieces with an etched flower design. The creamer has a dent close to the bottom(see photos) The dent is about 1 ¼” by ¾” It is close the bottom so it is not very noticeable at first glance. I would say that these were probably used on a daily basis so they have minor dings and marks. Silver is hard to photograph because of the reflection. But I hope you can see how beautiful these are. I have polished these and it seems like some of the silver plate has worn off on the lid of the sugar bowl. The little handle on the lid does not even seem to me to be silver. It was very tarnished. But did not polish up ... morelike the rest of it did. There are probably other small areas where the silver plate is worn off. I am in no way a silver expert. More like a novice, so please let me know if you have questions or if I have erred in my description. Read below to see the history of Homan Silver and an explanation of what quadruple plate means. This is an antique quadruple silver-plate creamer made by New Amsterdam Silver Co. The creamer has an etched floral pattern on the front side. Beading around the top and a footed base. It is marked on the bottom(see photo) plus a pattern number of 600. This item is in fair condition with heavy tarnish. A shallow dent under the spout. The upper rim seems a bit irregular as well, but it looks as if the rim was applied so that may be more of a production flaw. The creamer stands about 3.75" tall.

Homan Silver Plate Co. sugar bowl- beautifully ornate. Marked on bottom Homan Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate- 2037/I assume this is a pattern number- Special Metal. Weighs 1 lb. 1/2 oz- 6" tall- 7" wide from handle to handle- top is 3" in diameter- base is approx 4" wide at its fattest. I don't see any obvious dents or dings but there are some minor scratches and marks which I would expect from such an old piece. I have not polished it at all. There is ver little. If any, pitting inside. I tried to do a little research on the Homan Silver Plate Company online and believe this piece is late 1800's to very early 1900's. I found one site which said that it became the Homan Manufacturing Company in 1904 which would date this sugar bowl before then. Vintage AMERICAN SILVERPLATE CO. 613 Quadruple Creamer This stunning piece is a throwback to America’s Gilded Age of railroad tycoons and oil barons that romped at summer homes in Newport and later. The Great Gatsby’s Long Island estate. The AMERICAN SILVERPLATE CO. was the trade name of Simpson Hall Miller& Co. As a vintage piece it shares minor signs of age just like a society grande dame. But those are signs of character and connote an air of a trusted lifelong butler who has dedicated his life to the persons residing“upstairs” In that context. I have noted that many of my silver-selling colleagues offer items“in need of polishing. This leaves the buyer in a vulnerable position as many major flaws cannot be identified until the polishing processing is complete. I would still definitely use this piece with pride as it clearly has graced many a table where it witnessed the rise and fall of romances, families, and businesses alike. This piece is clearly marked on the bottom as being“quadruple plate” which has been described as: Quadruple silver plate hollowware was some of the highest quality made during the later part of the 19 th century. Within the silversmith and silver manufacturing industry. Items marked“Standard” silver plate indicated that 2 troy ounces of pure silver were used to silver electroplate 144 teaspoons, but“Quadruple” silverplate used 8 troy ounces of silver to plate the same 144 spoons. Research on the internet indicates that term“quadruple” stopped being a state of art term at the beginning of the 1900’s. Making it likely that this piece is at least 100 years old. Circa 1880 Rockford SilverPlate Co. Quadruple Plate 985 Sugar Bowl and Creamer
Circa 1880 Downton Abbey engraved floral design. Condition used. Both pieces are age tarnished with some minor flat spots on both. Creamer has Rockford Silver Hallmark with 985 stamped on bottom. Sugar bowl unmarked. They are approximately 3 1/2" tall, 4" across, not including handles.

Reticulated design. It measures approximately 6.5 inches from the top of one handle to the top of the other. The tray itself is around 6 1/4 inches long. The width is approximately 1.25 inches and the height is approximately 1.25 inches including the little curved legs. The marking at the bottom says Monarch Silver Co. Quadruple around a crown logo stamped 838 with a hand engraving 26 Monarch was in business from 1894 to 1962. I would put this piece in the 1920's or 1930's based on its ... moredesign. Needs a little polishing I am sure it would polish up nicely however it has a wonderful patina. From my friend's collections: We have a simply lovely sugar bowl/ server by RICHFIELD PLATE CO. QUADRUPLE- 2203. It is silverplate and is monogrammed with the letters B A. It is in very nice vintage condition with a beautiful patina. however it does have one dent near the bottom- although I don't think it's very noticeable. Measures approx. 4-1/4" tall- from the top of the handle to the bottom and 3" in diameter at the top opening.

Vintage Wm.ROGERS Mfg Co. Quadruple Silverplate LARGE SUGAR BOWL w/LID
Large Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. Silverplate Quadruple 1231 suger bowl and lid. Very good shape. It just needs polished unless you love the shabby chic look of this beautiful bowl. This is part of my 87 year old mother's estate so I am not sure of its age. The bowl is about 7 1/2 inches side to side including the handles and 5 3/4 inches high including the lid.
