Meriden B. Company Quadruple Silver Plate Ornate Creamer - Antique
I found this antique creamer/hot milk pitcher and to be honest. I don't know much about it other than it is OLD according to the bottom stamp. Meriden B. Company is a well-respected name in the silver plating industry and it is a sought after name that collectors seek. The floral pattern is very ornate and is seen around the bottom; the handle and on top of the lid. I have not polished it but it appears to have more of a pewter type coloring as opposed to a bright white silver color. The lid has a couple slight dents which causes the top point to tilt a bit to the back. The inside is scratched as you can see in the pictures which is why I think it may have been used for hot milk or syrup. Stamp: Meriden B. Antique Vintage Derby Silver Plate Company Creamer and Sugar Bowl
A Derby Silver Plate Company Creamer and Sugar Bowl. Each piece is marked Derby Silver Plate Co in a circle surrounding a crown and anchor. The numbers 1111 are etched below the mark. The pieces each measure 2 3/8" in height and have a grape pattern. CONDITION: Nice. Obviously tarnished. And the handles show some wear. A few rough spots along the rims and some fleabite nicks along the bottom edge. I didn't want to clean or remove the tarnish, so both pieces will need cleaning. I purchase all of my items at auctions so cannot be sure of their history or whether they've come from smoke-free or pet-free homes. I do my best to list any damage or use. But I'm not an expert. Gorgeous mid to late 1800's Meriden Quadruple plated sugar bowl and creamer set. Beautiful etched flowers adorn both pieces. No Monograms! The pictures do not do this set justice. The only flaw that I can see is a tiny dent on the lid of the sugar bowl. Other than that these are in perfect condition. Very clean on the inside of both pieces. These are generous in size and very substantial. Clearly marked on the bottom Meriden B Company Quadruple Plate and the pattern is 1800. I believe these are from the Aesthetic Era but I am not sure. Meriden B. Company collectors. Here is a creamer from their silverplate silver plate collection. The shape is classic frontier era. The piece has beaded edge on top. The base is comprised of two rings of the same beaded style. The piece is numbered, has the single scale imprint, has the"MADE AND GUARANTEED BY" IMPRESSION, and of course the U.S.A. imprint. The piece is not banged or dendted so it has it's original shape. It has light handling marks all over as one would expect. But nohing significant enough to mention. The piece has normal oxidation, all of which will come off with silver cleaner. However I never remvie the tarnish, I always leave that up to the buyer. These antique pieces are absolutely stunning- the detail is amazing, as if every time you look at the patterns, you will notice something new. There is a triangular pattern, featuring flowers and leaves- each one slightly different. They each stand on 4 feet, with another triangular flower pattern. The handles also have an intricately carved pattern of flora, leaves, and swirls. On the spout of the creamer, 2 birds are carved. The decorative cover on the sugar dish has 3 daisies in the middle. These are very pretty, and are in EXCELLENT condition. There are no scratches or marks anywhere. They have the original patina, so you can choose whether you'd like to polish them, or keep them in their vintage state. The bottom is marked ... morewith"Meriden B. Company" and a set of scales, symbolizing the popular silver manufacturer. The number of the piece is 1927, and next to that 1/2 is written. The creamer measures 7 x 3 inches. And stands 5.5 inches tall. Vintage Colonial Silver Company Creamer, Silver Plate, Engraved Floral Design
Up for bid is a beautiful Colonial Silver Company Creamer. Its in very good condition and seems like most of the silverplate has worn off. Over all its still a very nice piece. Up for auction is a Wilcox Silver Co. quadruple plated creamer pitcher. It shows sign of a lot of wear and has dents in the base. On the bottom it engraved with"Wilcox Silver Co. quadrupled plate 100 1/2. The previous owner also engraved there last name. Probably as theft protection. It could use a really good cleaning. Creamer has 9350 v. sugar dish has number 9349 with number 62 2 on both of them. this is very old. the size is 20 wide by 11 inches. grapes surrounding the tray with leaves. also on the sugar dish and creamer. slight scratch on tray.I will take a picture
