$18.70 Shipping Location: Kerhonkson, United States This creamer and sugar bowl are at least 110 years old. They were made sometime between 1896 and 1904 by the Homan Silverplate Co. These belonged to my ... morehusband’s great grandmother. These pieces are pattern 2014. These are beautiful pieces with an etched flower design. The creamer has a dent close to the bottom(see photos) The dent is about 1 ¼” by ¾” It is close the bottom so it is not very noticeable at first glance. I would say that these were probably used on a daily basis so they have minor dings and marks. Silver is hard to photograph because of the reflection. But I hope you can see how beautiful these are. I have polished these and it seems like some of the silver plate has worn off on the lid of the sugar bowl. The little handle on the lid does not even seem to me to be silver. It was very tarnished. But did not polish up like the rest of it did. There are probably other small areas where the silver plate is worn off. I am in no way a silver expert. More like a novice, so please let me know if you have questions or if I have erred in my description. Read below to see the history of Homan Silver and an explanation of what quadruple plate means. The pictures are a part of the description so be sure to look at them and ask if you have questions. The Homan Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati was founded in 1847 by Henry Homan and Asa Flagg. From 1847 to 1896. The name of their company was Homan and Company. Their“special metal” Britannia is a pewter-like metal made from tin that is hardened by adding small amounts of copper and antimony. Pewter was known as the“poor mans” silver, and by the 1850’s most companies had replaced it with Britannia metal, a higher quality of pewter ware prized for its color and durability. Wm Mounts Homan Plate Nickel Silver Creamer and Open Sugar with Tray
This is a charming open sugar and creamer set with an art deco look made by Wm. Mounts and marked Homan Plate on Nickel Silver. Made in the USA. I added a tray marked Sheridan EP Brass, Taunton Silversmiths which makes a nice presentation. The tray measures 9.5" x 5.5" and the sugar is about 3.5 high. Almost 4" across. The creamer stand 4" high, 2.75" across I use my silver all the time; there are so many lovely pieces to chose from and makes every occasion a little more special. Paypal only. Please.
