Meriden B. Company Quadruple Silver Plate Ornate Creamer - Antique
I found this antique creamer/hot milk pitcher and to be honest. I don't know much about it other than it is OLD according to the bottom stamp. Meriden B. Company is a well-respected name in the silver plating industry and it is a sought after name that collectors seek. The floral pattern is very ornate and is seen around the bottom; the handle and on top of the lid. I have not polished it but it appears to have more of a pewter type coloring as opposed to a bright white silver color. The lid has a couple slight dents which causes the top point to tilt a bit to the back. The inside is scratched as you can see in the pictures which is why I think it may have been used for hot milk or syrup. Stamp: Meriden B. Rare Late 19 th Century Quadruple Silver Plate Wine Bottle Holder Meriden B. Company Beautiful Unique Silver Plated Wine Bottle Cover, Meriden Britannia Company. Late 19th century or early 20th century, bottle shaped with a somewhat reeded handle with opening in the middle, hinged at opposite side of body, ht. 11 3/8 in. Markings on Bottom: Meriden B. Company with Balance Scale Logo Quadruple 2 Patent March 8. 1881 Moritz Korff In my opinion this silver plated wine bottle holder is in pretty good condition taking into consideration it could be more than 100 years old. There are a few dings. A few small but significant scratches, other light scratches and copper showing on the handle and the hinge. The hinge also appears to be loose or separating in that area. There is a lot of black or dirt over most of the bottle holder. I have read that ... moremany silver cleaners currently on the market along with too much rubbing can damage silver plated items. So I think it would be best to leave that up to someone who knows what they are doing. If this were a cream pitcher that I could easily find a replacement for I would have attempted to put a shine on it. Being this is such a unique hard to find piece I thought it is better to leave as is rather than risk damaging it. That being said. And the fact that I really don't know much about silver, I am not sure of the condition of the silver plate. So please look over the pictures. Paypal accepted. A bb sized dent on one side and some scratches which would be normal for something used and this old.A dent on the bottom and plenty of patina abounds showing this to be a great piece to have! Gorgeous mid to late 1800's Meriden Quadruple plated sugar bowl and creamer set. Beautiful etched flowers adorn both pieces. No Monograms! The pictures do not do this set justice. The only flaw that I can see is a tiny dent on the lid of the sugar bowl. Other than that these are in perfect condition. Very clean on the inside of both pieces. These are generous in size and very substantial. Clearly marked on the bottom Meriden B Company Quadruple Plate and the pattern is 1800. I believe these are from the Aesthetic Era but I am not sure. Silver Meriden B Company 1935 Eastlake Peacock Creamer Pitcher
Up for auction is a Victorian cream pitcher by Meriden B. Company from the 1870's. This 1935 pattern was manufactured with the tall stately legs and high collar. The cream pitcher is tall. Standing 7 inches, with a 2 cup capacity. The silver plate is in good condition as shown in the pictures and there are no monograms. The inside is exceptionally clean for an item of its age. There are no dings or dents and the etching featuring the peacocks and foliage is clear. Please remember that this item is from the Victorian age. And is used, not like new or in new condition. It has sat on many tables, held by many loving hands and lived an eventful life. This may have flaws which is part of the character of each individual Victorian or vintage item. Nice Vintage Creamer and Sugar bowl. Marked Meriden SP Co. International S Co, 3603. Very nice etching on the upper part of both pieces. Both set on a pedestal and measure 2 5/8" tall and approx. 5" round including handles and spout. Scratches are present, but nothing significant. Inside of both containers are worn, or stained. Not sure of the age, but they look quite old.

Meriden B. Company collectors. Here is a creamer from their silverplate silver plate collection. The shape is classic frontier era. The piece has beaded edge on top. The base is comprised of two rings of the same beaded style. The piece is numbered, has the single scale imprint, has the"MADE AND GUARANTEED BY" IMPRESSION, and of course the U.S.A. imprint. The piece is not banged or dendted so it has it's original shape. It has light handling marks all over as one would expect. But nohing significant enough to mention. The piece has normal oxidation, all of which will come off with silver cleaner. However I never remvie the tarnish, I always leave that up to the buyer.
