James W. Tufts Boston James W. Tufts Boston. Made by renowned silver makers James W. Tufts of Boston Massachusetts. This striking cream pitcher and sugar bowl are circa 1870’s-1880’s. This late Victorian silverplated set is marked with the design number 1938. The gorgeous design features bold florals in deep relief and reeded curved handles. The creamer has a parcel gilt interior, the sugar has no gold wash on the interior. Both pieces stand 5 1/8” 13 cm) tall at the handles. This pair has no monogram or inscription. These two are in very good condition. With no dents, breaks, or repairs. Both pieces have minor wear on the outer top rim, lower edge, handles, and on the high-point edges of the busy design. The interior of the sugar bowl has lots of utensil scratches and tiny gouges. The interior of the cream jug has fewer scratches, but it ... moredoes have a few tiny pits. Tiny nicks that you can only see from the inside) Very good condition- No lid Domed Butter: This one is interesting. It came with a mini-lazy susan(with ball bearing rollers) silver colored stand. I think this might be a nickel alloy. I do not know if it is original to the butter but it will be included(unless you don't want it. Should be easy to find a glass liner for this piece. The base measures 2" Tall x 4 3/4" diameter with a sloped inner wall that goes from the 4" diameter to 2 3/4" inside. The butter cover is in very fine condition and I see no dents or ... moredings. There are no monograms or re-welds, the high areas are in good condition retaining the silver plate and not worn and the inside is clean and usable. All the black spots are reflections from the camera lens. This is actually a wonderful piece of silver plate showing very little ware and no visible plate loss. It stands about 5.5 inches tall and 6.25 inches wide from handle to handle. It stands 5 inches tall and weighs a little over 5 ounces. Those looking may very well be able to identify it's age by the markings or the style it is made in. I will leave that up to you to decipher. It is very solid without cracks or breaks. It stands on the base soundly and is in good condition. But it does have a slight out of round appearance. It is no matter, as it has it's original patina and has held it's age appropriately. The inside of the creamer, as shown, has some splotches in it. Up for auction is a Victorian Aesthetic Period sugar bowl/spooner/vase by James W. Tufts of Boston from the 1870's 1880's in Quadruple Plate. This stands 4.25 inches tall and is 4.50 inches wide. The fabulous design features swirling shapes with crysanthemums. Roses, pansies, leaves and a fantastic pattern of circles or dots. There are no monograms. 1800's James Tufts figural fish shaped creamer / pitcher
Figural creamer or small pitcher in a fish pattern by James Tufts. Piece measures 5&1/4 inches tall at the tallest. Piece is in very good condition. Interior shows a little wear. Several nicks and scratches in the bottom but not ruined. There's a dent the size of a dime in one side, you could push it out with strong fingers. Plate is a little worn, I think it will polish up well. Exterior has some slight nicks and scratches from stacking and storage with other silver it is otherwise very good. Piece has some tarnish and will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer recieves it. Take a good look at the photos as piece is being sold as is.

Art Nouveau Inspired Silver Plate Creamer and Sugar by James W Tufts ca 1900
James W Tufts made high quality silver plated wares from about 1875-1915. He often used nature themes his work was highly detailed and of the best quality rivaling more well known silver makers like Gorham and Tiffany. This creamer and sugar set is a fine example of his work, oval bodies decorated with repousse' garlands of flowers and ribbons, scrolled handles and twisted rope borders. They are marked with his co. logo(see pics) and the bodies measure 5" x 3" the creamer is 6.5" and the sugar 7" across the handles. Very good condition with no dents, scratches, repairs or plate loss. They do need a good cleaning and polishing. See more fine silver in our other listings.

Tufts#2210 two handled silver plated bowl circa 1879 Measurements: 5" tall/ 3" diameter This item has been well cared for in a reasonably tarnish resistant environment evident from the excellent condition of the detailed texture behind the central designs. There appears to be no damage to the surface inconsistent with the age of this piece. The piece sits squarely on its base with no wobble again demonstrating that the piece was well cared for and never dropped or damaged. The piece has only a small degree of overall tarnish. However, because of its age and excellent condition, we did not attempt remove any surface tarnish given the significance of this piece to collectors of Tufts work during this period.

Tufts, warranted quadrupleplate, Boston, with form number 3180. Size: Approximately 5 inches high and 2 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest point. Condition: The silverplate is in good condition with no flaking. Some wear on the high points, and some small surface scratches consistent with age. There are no dents and the inside is clean. VICTORIAN QUADRUPLE PLATE JAMES TUFTS ART NOUVEAU TEA CADDY COVERED SUGAR
Up for auction is a Victorian covered sugar or caddy by James Tufts. Quadruple Plate from the late 1800's in good condition as shown in the pictures. Both handles are sturdy as is the finial. The silver plate is shiny and there are no monograms or dents. It stands 5.75 inches tall by 6.75 inches wide across the handles. The inside is clean and usable. We will combine shipping when ever possible. Please remember that our items are mostly Victorian and always used. Never new or in new condition. They have sat on many tables, held by many loving hands and lived an eventful life. They may have flaws which is part of the character of each individual Victorian or vintage item. James W. Tufts sugar and creamer. Unique design. The creamer measures 2.25" high by 4.5" minor scuffs and dings small in the bottom interior. The creamer has a single handle for pouring: These are really beautiful pieces. The sugar bowl has a matching design with two handles. On the cylinder portion of the sugar bowl I see a small area. Under the handle, where the silver has worn away. Measures 1"x.5" Another smaller area is worn under the other handle. There are small typical dings inside bottom of the bowls. Lovely Victorian James Tufts SP Cream & Sugar Set W/ Aesthetic Motif #1833 1880s
Description This Victorian era silver plated creamer and sugar bowl set was made by James Tufts of Boston. It is quad plated and numbered 1833. The set stands 3 1/4" tall and both pieces are 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point. As with many Tuft's pieces. The styling is exceptional. Influenced by the aesthetic movement, the fronts feature a scene with a lake and a sailboat and large cattail type plants int the foreground. Off to the right are more engraved leafy branches and leaves. Around the top rims is patterning with birds in flight, birds perched on branches, butterflies and blooms-all quite beautiful. The handles are elegant with an openwork loop with a flower inside. The set is in very nice condition with no silver wear. No dents and no deep scratches. Also, no monograms or other engravings. This is an absolute delight to look at. Especially if you are a fruit lover! Made by James Tufts. Boston c1875-1915 this wonderful silverplated set is in super condition. Each piece is marked with the James Tufts Boston hallmark and also marked 2232. Each piece is in dent& ding free and clean inside and out. Although the sugar has a couple of darker spots inside that may clean out. We did not try. There is also wear marks from use along the bottom edge of each piece, but all within the realm of normal use. Creamer or small pitcher in a floral pattern by James Tufts. Piece measures 4&5/8th inches tall. Piece is in very good condition. Interior shows a little wear. Several nicks and scratches in the bottom but not ruined. Exterior has some slight nicks and scratches from stacking and storage with other silver it is otherwise very good. Piece has some tarnish and will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer recieves it. Take a good look at the photos as piece is being sold as is.
