Up for auction is a vintage 1921 Martin handcraft phase II alto saxaphone. It comes with two mouthpieces. Extra reeds that are probably vintage, a music holder, a strap and a Bundy case. The case is in good condition. The alto saxaphone is silver plated and has a gold washed bell. The saxaphone is in very good condition cosmetically. It will probably need to be cleaned and will probably need new pads. The keys seem to all work well. This is a very collectible saxaphone. The serial number is 25887 and it matches the neck. Offered here is a handsome sterling silver salad set in the Oval Twist pattern first issued by Whiting in 1880. The fork is 9 3/4" in length and has one tine that is a bit bent in and has a creased bent at about a quarter inch from the end of the tine. The spoon is about 9 1/4" and has a couple of pepper flake dark spots and one tiny ding in the bowl. Both have gold washed"business ends" with the spoon being a little lighter than the fork. Probably from greater use. Weighing in at a little over 4 ounces Troy between then, and apart from the issues mentioned above, they are in good used condition with some minor use scuffing. Rare Antique German Silver Gold Washed Flatware Serving For 6 Early 1800's
I found this set at an estate auction. The set was so different and rare that I couldnt walk away from it. It is marked German Silver. It is goldwashed. I had them looked at by an appraiser. Not sure of what I had or even the value of what I had. Its a serving set for 6. 6 knives. 6 teaspoons, 6 forks, 5 miniature spoons, 1 larger serving spoon slightly different floral pattern. They appear to be handmade. The ends of the utensils look like they were crafted with a hand tools. They are early 1800's. The pattern is floral. I searched several hundred listings and websites. Including germany and could not find this pattern anywhere. The measurements are as follows The knives measure 8" The Forks measure 6" The teaspoons measure 6 6/8 ths. The small spoons measure 5 2/8 ths. The Serving Spoon measures 7" The box is very fragile. ... moreIt is covered in red( faded) felt. One of the clasps is missing. 13' x 9" x 2 1/4th. It is made of some type of cardboard on the top and bottom but the sides are all crafted in wood. The utensil holder inside the box is made of wood. It is lined with red satiny material and velvet. Truth be told I am surprised that this box has made it through 2 centuries. It shows its age. I will try to answer any questions you have about this item. Its very rare. Highly collectable and has withstood a few hundred + years. All the pieces are not marked german silver and there is wear on serveral of them and patina. Interesting pot holes on a few of the pieces left over from smelting and pouring into molds. You can tell that these were handcrafted and filed by the inside of the fork tines and the bottoms of the pieces. The floral print is magnificent!

This ladle has a very heavy. Beautifully constructed bowl with twisted ribbon neck. The inside of the bowl is gold washed. The handle is made of carved ebony. This piece was made between 1790-1809. The ladle has a pinprick engraving of the initials J.G.K and the date February 12, 1809 in the European style. The ladle is marked on the side of the bowl with a number for the purity. Krafft for the maker, and a long zigzag mark for the assay test. We have tested the ladle with nitric acid and guarantee the silver purity to be at least.800. The overall condition is excellent. The gold wash to the interior of the bowl is completely intact. There are a few very minor dents ... moreto the silver joint connecting the ebony handle and the ladle's neck. But these are only noticeable on very close inspection. The wood handle is firmly in place and very secure. Beautiful 1902 Art Nouveau Repousse Pop Out Pushed Out Barber Half Dollar. Original Almost Uncirculated Half. Coin has a Patent Date on the verso of Feb. 1903. Originally had a brooch-type pin and clasp. Now long since removed. 80% of original Gold Wash remains. Gold tone pictures are more representative of the actual color of the coin. Possibly pushed out by a steam driven press at the'04 St. Louis Worlds Fair. Tremendous pressure would be required to press such a large coin with such detail and high relief.
