Antique Creamer with Glass Insert Porter Britannia & Plate Company Civil War Era
Here is a nice silverplate creamer with the original glass cup insert made by the Porter Britannia company(1840s to 1879) The style looks from the civil war era. The glass insert is very neat with the old seam along the side and only one fleabite nick on the top edge. The spoon which comes with this is not as old(1900) made and marked Derby Silver Company. The spoon is excellent. There is some wear on the creamer silverplating; not an issue for use/display. A very displayable antique creamer and spoon. This is a Wonderful Vintage Silver Colored Silverplate Bee Hive Honey Pot Honey Jar with a Bee on a Flower Finial. This honey skep was designed to imitate early dome-shaped beehives made of horizontal coils of tied straw. Honey skeps were made mainly during the reign of George III(1760-1820) The design of this pot is based on an original idea by Paul Storr during this same period. This Honey Pot was Made in Japan for Corbell& Co. of Los Angeles. CA. It bears the gothic Corbell& Co engraved mark, as well as a foil label that states"Tarnish Protected~Made in Japan" It comes with a heavy frosted glass insert for your honey. Victorian Silver plated Sugar Bowl with Blue Art Glass Insert
A silverplated sugar bowl holder. Probably in need of replating. One side of the handle also has come loose, and needs to be reattached. This has holders for 12 spoons, and sits on 4 legs with heron decoration. The blue opalescent glass insert is all in fine condition with no chips or cracks, and I am certain that it is original to the holder. Silver Plated Vintage Sugar Bowl with Insert and Lid(spoon missing) Hello, This is a listing for a vintage silver-plated sugar bowl. It appears to be an older piece. And does have some issues. The plating is peeling on the underside of the lid, and it is coming off in a few other places, mainly the rim of the bowl. There is a gap for a spoon. But the spoon is missing. The bowl features a lot of pretty stamping, of foliage and flowers. It also has a nice glass insert that slides out. The bowl also has a nice handle as well. Some general wear due to its age. Bit otherwise, in good condition. This is a lovely piece. And would be a eye catcher. There is a sticker remnant on the bottom of the bowl. The insert is nice thick glass with both frosted and crystal clear swirls as you can see. The very base has a small edge chip that is not seen when the insert is inside the stand. This holder comes with a lovely medium blue glass insert with vertical ribbed panels and polished pontil on base. The holder has an ornate pattern on the legs as well as the metal side panels and the ring around the top area where it also has areas to hold 6 spoons. This piece stands about 4 3/4" high with a diameter of 4 1/4" not including the handles which makes it 6 1/2" if handles are included. The glass insert is original to the piece and in good shape with just tiny specks of imperfection along the top near the creases of the panels.
