Antique Creamer with Glass Insert Porter Britannia & Plate Company Civil War Era
Here is a nice silverplate creamer with the original glass cup insert made by the Porter Britannia company(1840s to 1879) The style looks from the civil war era. The glass insert is very neat with the old seam along the side and only one fleabite nick on the top edge. The spoon which comes with this is not as old(1900) made and marked Derby Silver Company. The spoon is excellent. There is some wear on the creamer silverplating; not an issue for use/display. A very displayable antique creamer and spoon. Vintage black hexagon silver deposit glass creamer and sugar set
Silver deposit glass was first made during the late nineteenth century. Solid sterling silver is applied to the glass by a chemical method so that a cutout design of silver metal appears against a clear or colored glass. The technique was used to make pieces in the Art Nouveau style that were popular from the 1890s to about 1920. It is sometimes called silver overlay. Double handle sugar bowl is six inches across including the handles and four inches not including handles. And four inches tall. Creamer is four inches tall and five inches across including the handle. Both are hexagon shaped and are in excellent condiiton, with no chips or scratches. Silver deposit is in great condition also. Etched Glass Creamer and Sugar Bowl with Silver Plate
Up for sale is a nice creamer and sugar bowl with etched glass and silver plate rims. Both have a floral designs etched on the glass. I have done research on them but do not know who or when they were made. I have found similar ones that were made between 1930's and 1950's. The sugar bowl does have a small crack near the bottom of bowl but does not go through the glass. For the price you are getting the sugar bowl free. There is very little ware on the silver plate. Please check the pictures. The measurements for the creamer are 3" tall at the top of spout, 4 3/8" wide from spout to handle and 3" wide bowl. The sugar bowl is 2 7/8" tall at the handles, 2 5/8" tall at bowl rim, 5 1/4" wide from handle to handle and 3 1/4" wide bowl. Both bases are 2 3/8" wide.

Pairpoint Silverplated Mount Washington Bisque Opal Enamel Glass Creamer No Res
An 1880's Pairpoint Silverplated Creamer with Mount Washington Bisque Opal Glass enamel decorated in a limb. Leaves, and flower blossom motif. The condition is excellent. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs to the glass vessel. The silver plated component are also undamaged though there is some expected plate loss which is visible and apparent in the images below. There are no bends, no breaks, and no repairs to any of the metal components. It measures 4" or 10.5cm tall overall. Curiously, the mark to the base reads Middletown Plate Co which was located in Connecticut. There must have been some connection with Pairpoint and/or Mount Washington and I have never seen this mark on Mt Washington silver mounted glass before ~ have you? Just guessing on this one. I have not been able to find out anything about the trademark on these absolutely awesome sugar and creamer containers. They look Baroque-esk. A bit Gothic-y. Each is heavy and the blue glass comes out. On the bottom of the glass it says"Japan" On the bottom of the silver holder it says"Made in Japan" with the mystery trademark of a bear with a T in the middle. It's in the pictures. I'm sure someone out there will know what this is to help me better identify it! The holders have a gold wash on them. They are not magnetic and neither are the screws that hold the handles in place. Which are possibly a bit newer? Not sure at all. These pieces have not been cleaned and are sold as is. There appears to be no visible damage, cracks or chips in the blue glass or on the silver holders. They cup ... moreon each measures just less than 3" in diameter. The handles each add about.75" on each side. They are 2.75" high. There is typical wear on the bottom of the holders, and typical patina, but all in all, two very nice condition pieces for your viewing and bidding pleasure! Posted with
