James W. Tufts Boston James W. Tufts Boston. Made by renowned silver makers James W. Tufts of Boston Massachusetts. This striking cream pitcher and sugar bowl are circa 1870’s-1880’s. This late Victorian silverplated set is marked with the design number 1938. The gorgeous design features bold florals in deep relief and reeded curved handles. The creamer has a parcel gilt interior, the sugar has no gold wash on the interior. Both pieces stand 5 1/8” 13 cm) tall at the handles. This pair has no monogram or inscription. These two are in very good condition. With no dents, breaks, or repairs. Both pieces have minor wear on the outer top rim, lower edge, handles, and on the high-point edges of the busy design. The interior of the sugar bowl has lots of utensil scratches and tiny gouges. The interior of the cream jug has fewer scratches, but it ... moredoes have a few tiny pits. According to the book American Silver Manufacturers by Dorothy Rainwater, pg, 107, the Company of Mead and Sons was formed in or around 1846 by John O. Mead after he returned from a trip to England to learn the art of Electro silver plating in the 1840's. By 1859 Mead was considered the first successful American electro silver plater around. Mead used the Coin Mark for his business until the late 1850's when the firm name became Filey and Mead. Later still the firm name was changed to Mead and Robins. That said, this dates the cream pitcher to the 1850's. It is a beauty standing 7.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide from handle to spout. Up for bid is this antique WM Rogers Silverplate 817 water pitcher. Creamer, and sugar bowl. These pieces have been in the family for years and the actual age is unknown. I didn't spend too much time polishing, but did remove some tarnish with Tarnex and lightly polished with Wright's Silver Cream. There are no visible dents, however several fine scratches. This listing is for a vintage silver plate creamer manufactured by Gorham Silver and stamped on the bottom with the word"Heritage" and the catalog number YH341. I acquired this piece at a local estate sale. Based on my research. I believe that the pattern name is"Baronial" The pitcher is in great condition with no dents. Damage, or repairs that I could find. I polished it with a polishing cloth and the silver polished up very nicely as can be seen in the pictures. The pitcher could maybe use some additional buffing in the crevices, but overall it has been fully polished with my cloth. Creamer or small pitcher in a floral pattern by James Tufts. Piece measures 4&5/8th inches tall. Piece is in very good condition. Interior shows a little wear. Several nicks and scratches in the bottom but not ruined. Exterior has some slight nicks and scratches from stacking and storage with other silver it is otherwise very good. Piece has some tarnish and will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer recieves it. Take a good look at the photos as piece is being sold as is.

Bancroft Redfield and Rice purchased wares from Reed and Baron in the raw metal and ran there own plating operation for the B. R. R. trademark. Most of the patterns produced were exceptional in design. This creamer is no exception featuring a figure which looks like an otter or beaver popping its head out of the handle and a cluster of grapes on the underside of the spout. The creamer stands about 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide with no monograms and features a tiny beaded trim on the base and rim. The silver plate is shiny though there is a spot of missing plate on one side of the handle as can be seen in the pictures. insurance is included in the cost of shipping. Beautiful Antique Silver-Plate Footed Creamer& Sugar- 6" TALL each Meriden Britannia Company formed in 1852 in Meriden. Connecticut Marked on bottom 1893 1/2. My research has indicated this pattern to have been made around 1874. Unique detailed engravings- they look like the Japonaise Style of which the company was famous. In very good condition- note the detail in the handles and the feet(footed pieces) they do need polishing The photos don't do them justice. The hotel was also historically significant in that in 1942 it became the first fully integrated(racially) hotel and proved to be an alternative resort for Atlantic City. The name Brigantine came from a type of 1600's ship, some of which wrecked on the notorious offshore shoals during a 200 year period. The the crest on the front of the creamer and sugar features a Brigantine ship. The set was manufactured by The Henry Bruml XIV out of New York. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 5&3/4" SYRUP I don't know the maker on this piece. It is in good condition. The plate is very good. Not worn off with exception to the spot I showed on the very bottom. Pretty floral and scroll pattern with a wicker covered metal handle. The wicker is in fine shape. No cracking. The hinged cover fits nice and snug with no issues. The only issue is there is a slight impression to the right of the cartouche(spot where there would have been monograms) You can barely notice it as you can see in the photo. The syrup features an ornate boarder of roses and other flowers on the upper and lover rim and the design is repeated on the handle, around the base of the rim and has a large bouquet of flowers as the finial.
