Very beautiful and HEAVY silver Sheffield sugar and creamer from England. Simple in design but stately at the same time. Nice addition to your holiday table this month. Would also be a great addition to your collection or make a great gift for someone special. The height of the sugar is almost 3 1/2" and the width on the opening is 2 3/4" The base is 4" The Sugar bowl weighs ONE POUND 2 OZ. And the creamer weighs FOURTEEN OUNCES. The creamer is almost 4" high and the opening is 2 1/4" The base is almost 3 1/2" wide. The bottom of the creamer is stamped E P N S. Hard soldered and made in Sheffield, England. The sugar bowl is stamped HARD SOLDERED SHEFFIELD IN A CIRLCE around a fading word-that has an S in it but I cannot make out the word- EMBOSSED IN THE MIDDLE. My research has indicated this pattern to have been made around 1874. Unique detailed engravings- they look like the Japonaise Style of which the company was famous. I do not know much about it- from my research"silver soldered" indicates that the item has a very thick silver plating and the solder holding the different parts together is made of a silver alloy. The piece seems to be either VERY old or has had a LOT of wear(or both) as the details are worn off and it simply looks old. There seems to have been a monogram on the one side(left side when the creamer is facing forward- the side shown in first pic) I am not sure what the letters are as it is pretty worn off- it may possibly be"UL" but it is really hard to tell. They both fit either the creamer or sugar bowl. These were very tarnished. And I've polished most of the tarnish off. They may have some small spots through the plate, but it's mostly tarnish that will get better with gentle use and polishing. The lid does have a couple of small dings near the top button and a small abrasion near the edge of the top. The sugar measures about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" and the creamer is about 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Silver Solder wares were frequently stamped with a hotel name and the extra silver plate was needed for high use in commercial settings. An old SSS Co. Creamer with Bake Lite Handle Quadruple silverplate ~ 3 1/2" The top rim has a dent on one side& there is a small spot with light scratches. There is some damage on the tip of the spout that you can feel more than see. Some of the silverplate is chipped off& there is a tiny dent. photos# 7.8,9) The bake lite handle is in excellent condition& very tight. I have not tried to polish this piece. But there seems to be a lot of plate left. It's an interesting piece.

This is a beautiful little individual creamer that would have held 2 ounces of cream on those days of elegant afternoon tea, set with delicate china and silver service. This little creamer has a twined design around the top edge, graceful tall pointed handle, and sturdy foot. The side has a raised oval medallion with a face that looks like the ancient Mayan designs.
