VICTORIAN COOPER BROS SILVER SHEFFIELD ENGLAND SUGAR SCUTTLE COAL SCULLTE Search Up for auction is a sugar scuttle which we believe to be Victorian by Cooper Bros. Sons. Sheffield England. The company was in business in Sheffield England from 1850 until 1983. During the time period the company went through many changes including changing makers marks and also became Cooper Bros. S. Ltd. in 1885. The mark on the bottom of the scuttle doesn't have the Ltd mark so we believe it to be pre 1885. The company was active at 14 High St(1850-1871) Don Plate Works, Bridge St(1872-1885) 44 Arundel St(1886-1983) The firm became Cooper Brothers& Sons Ltd in 1895. In 1983 the business was acquired by Frank Cobb& Co Ltd. Please look at the mark before bidding on the sugar scuttle. It stands about 5.5 inches tall by 6 inches measuring from front ... moreto back. The etching is in beautiful condition, inside is clean and usable, no monograms and the silver plate is shiny with a spot of ware just under one side which can be seen in picture 1. insurance is included in the cost of shipping. Antique Silver Sugar Scuttle Cooper Bros. England w/ beautiful embossing
This gorgeous vintage sugar scuttle was made in Sheffield. England by Cooper Bros. Note the silver markings on photos above. I found it among my mother's estate items from England where she purchased it. It measures 4" tall from handle to bottom and approx. 4" wide from handle to spout. My mother found other uses for it including filling it with sugar cubes, nuts, tiny mints and candies and even cigarettes. The exquisite beaded rim and embossed design on the piece itself add to its incredible beauty. It is in excellent preowned condition. No tarnish, scratches, dings or blemishes. Antique Cooper Bros. Sugar Bowl w/spoon (Silverplate) Sheffield England
This is a Unique Silverplate Sugar Bowl that almost appears to be a Knight's helmet.This was made by Cooper bros. In Sheffield England. There is a spoon with it. Whether it is original to the sugar bowl is unknown, but it is included. This Sugar bowl is 5 3/4" tall and the bowl diameter is 3 1/4" It has not been cleaned, There is a Loop on the back, that probably holds the spoon or Tongs. The design is floral scrollwork, with rectangular beadwork around the opening.The spoon is also a silverplate and was also manufactured in Sheffield England. Victorian style Cooper Bros sugar bowl with the original scooper made in Sheffield. England. Hand engraved intricate scroll design on both sides and has beaded edge. Sugar bowl is roughly 5" in length(front to back) 3.5" wide and over 5" tall. Weighs just over 10 ounces with scooper. It looks to be in very good condition upon close inspection besides normal wear/ micro scratches" from use(there are no defects, dents, etc. Stamped with several hallmarks on the bottom of the bowl(starting from the top down) read; 1. Image of a man hammering over a barrel. Directly underneath the image it reads, COOPER" 2. Series of stamps in a row including"C" then"BxuS" grouped together(I'm not certain of the"xuS" part as this stamp is hard to make out) then"S" then"EP" sideways) ... more3. Victorian silver plate sugar and creamer set. both pieces are in gently used condition. the creamer has some minor dings. creamer measures 5 1/2 inches in total length. the sugar is just shy of that. both pieces have not been polished.
