Meriden B. Company Quadruple Silver Plate Ornate Creamer - Antique
I found this antique creamer/hot milk pitcher and to be honest. I don't know much about it other than it is OLD according to the bottom stamp. Meriden B. Company is a well-respected name in the silver plating industry and it is a sought after name that collectors seek. The floral pattern is very ornate and is seen around the bottom; the handle and on top of the lid. I have not polished it but it appears to have more of a pewter type coloring as opposed to a bright white silver color. The lid has a couple slight dents which causes the top point to tilt a bit to the back. The inside is scratched as you can see in the pictures which is why I think it may have been used for hot milk or syrup. Stamp: Meriden B. A Derby Silver Plate Company Creamer and Sugar Bowl. Each piece is marked Derby Silver Plate Co in a circle surrounding a crown and anchor. The numbers 1111 are etched below the mark. The pieces each measure 2 3/8" in height and have a grape pattern. CONDITION: Nice. Obviously tarnished. And the handles show some wear. A few rough spots along the rims and some fleabite nicks along the bottom edge. I didn't want to clean or remove the tarnish, so both pieces will need cleaning. I purchase all of my items at auctions so cannot be sure of their history or whether they've come from smoke-free or pet-free homes. I do my best to list any damage or use. But I'm not an expert. Corbell & Company C&CO Silver Plate Sugar Jelly Bowl Lid - 1940-1950's - Cherub
This is a very intricately ornate silver plated bowl. It has cherubs on each side below the handles and beautiful design throughout the body. Lid and base. The lid has an opening for a spoon which I do not have included. The inside is lined with a milk glass insert. From my research, this piece is from the 40's or 50's and is from Corbell& Company. It has some weight to it. It measures about 5 1/2" tall with the lid. The piece is a silver and not goldish like most of the pictures show. That was due to the flash. See pictures for any imperfections. Its in Very Good Condition! Beautiful piece.

The design of this pitcher is very well done. There is a repousse band in the mid section that depicts a girl with a dog in a garden. The garden has many different kinds of flowers and an arbor. The Lucius Hart Manufacturing Company is said to be the oldest company in the US engaged in the manufacture of silver plated ware. If you would like to know more about the company. There is a wonderful write up in a turn of the century travel book on the web. The label on the bottom states that the piece is"triple plate" There is wear on the handle and knob where the lid hits the handle. Please look carefully at the pictures. Gorgeous mid to late 1800's Meriden Quadruple plated sugar bowl and creamer set. Beautiful etched flowers adorn both pieces. No Monograms! The pictures do not do this set justice. The only flaw that I can see is a tiny dent on the lid of the sugar bowl. Other than that these are in perfect condition. Very clean on the inside of both pieces. These are generous in size and very substantial. Clearly marked on the bottom Meriden B Company Quadruple Plate and the pattern is 1800. I believe these are from the Aesthetic Era but I am not sure. Assuming one is a creamer and the other two are sugars. These are all marked on the bottom. They are a matched set. I believe the N and S in the Mark stands for nickel silver. But am not sure. Mark reads: VB Co NS 518 Esti 4.25" H without lid. I believe that this is the Van Bergh Silver Plate Company. They were founded in 1892 by brothers Fredrick and Maurice Van Bergh. In 1925. They incorporated as the Van Bergh Silver Plate Company, Inc. In 1926, they were absorbed by Oneida Community Limited and moved from Rochester to Oneida New York. Meriden B. Company collectors. Here is a creamer from their silverplate silver plate collection. The shape is classic frontier era. The piece has beaded edge on top. The base is comprised of two rings of the same beaded style. The piece is numbered, has the single scale imprint, has the"MADE AND GUARANTEED BY" IMPRESSION, and of course the U.S.A. imprint. The piece is not banged or dendted so it has it's original shape. It has light handling marks all over as one would expect. But nohing significant enough to mention. The piece has normal oxidation, all of which will come off with silver cleaner. However I never remvie the tarnish, I always leave that up to the buyer. Doesn't look like it has been Used much. Lid fits nice andTight. It has the"Meriden B Company 1877" Logo on bottom of Bowl& reads"Patent Applied For. Very Good Condition.No Dents. No major Scratches.
