Offering this wonderful antique quadruple plate sugar and creamer set from New Amsterdam Silver Co. New York. The New Amsterdam Silver Co. was founded in the late 1800s and in 1904, it was renamed as Knickerbocker Silver Co. This is a fine example set for the silver plate collector. Both pieces are clearly marked underneath and numbered'605' Each piece is monogrammed with what looks like the letter'O' I can't tell for sure. The sugar measures 3.25" high(to top of handle) and 3" across the mouth. The creamer is 3.25" high and 3" across the mouth. Condition is fair to good- both pieces have issues and each has dents(please see photos) also the creamer has plate loss on the interior, hence the low price. Apollo Silver was founded in New York in 1885 to 1899 before being purchased by Bernard Rice's Sons who continued to use the Apollo name. I believe these to be early Apollo Silver items which are in well used condition and have a beautifully original dark grey patina. There is a rippled like appearance to the metal which makes it look primitively made and there is some discoloration around the rims. Sugar Bowl is 5.75 inches wide(handle to handle) by 2.75 inches high and the creamer is 4.5 inches wide(handle to spout) by almost 3 inches high. A beautiful addition to any collection. Antique 1880 J.A. Babcock & Co Silver Quadruple Plated Creamer & Sugar VTG Set
GORGEOUS! Rare and hard to find! J.A. Babcock. 1880, Quadruple Plated Sugar Bowl and Creamer. This company operated out of New York from 1861 and closed in 1894. This simply is gorgeous. The raised and embossed vegetation, leaves and flowers on the neck of each piece is intrinsic and beautiful and circles the entire top. On the body of each piece on one side only is a gorgeous, detailed leaf and flower design. I am not going to clean this and shine it up because I love this look with the patina. The sugar bowl is almost 4 1/2" tall measured to the top of the handle. The mouth is 3 1/4" wide and the base is almost 3" The belly puffs out and obviously will have a larger measurements that both of these. The matching Creamer stands at almost 3 1/2" the mouth is 3 1/2" counting the spout. The base is 2 1/2" wide and ... morethis belly is also larger; please see pictures. Antique Providence Silverplate Co. Quadruple Plate#412 Sugar and Creamer Set. From an estate and the silver salt shaker and silver bracket ring were stuffed inside. Measure 3.75 inches tall with approximate 12 inch circumference and 3& 3/8 inch diameter on top from outside rim to outside rim. Intricate scroll work design on handles and creamer spout. Etched flower design. Overall condition is good-they appear to be quite old. But have no known date. Half inch scratch on front of sugar bowl under the neck-could be from manufacture. Also small dent on the back side. Creamer has three very small dents on back side and corrosion near bottom of handle on back side. Salt shaker has no markings and the lid won't screw on and lid is corroded. This item measures 2.5 inches tall with 1 inch diameter across top opening. You are bidding on an antique Aesthetic Era Quadruple Silverplate Cup or Waste Bowl made by Meriden Brittania Company. At first I thought this was a cup. But after further research, I found that it could also be considered a waste bowl. The cup/waste bowl has a satin finish with a lovely bright-cut engraving of a vine bearing leaves and berries encircling the cup. The interior of the cup/waste bowl has a gold wash. Contrasting beautifully with the silver plate. The bottom bears a Scale within a Circle mark and reads. Meriden B Co. Another circle reads, Quadruple Plate" above the number"026. The Meriden Brittania Co. produced beautiful silverplate objects during the Aesthetic Era. Naturalistic themes were popular during this time which ran from the mid-1800's until early 1900. Antique silver plate from this era was most commonly ... moremarked"Quadruple Plate" denoting that 4 layers of silver plate were used on the piece. The term"Quadruple Plate" was rarely used after 1900. The cup/waste bowl bears normal and expected surface marks from age and use. Especially on the interior, along with a couple of small scratches. There is also some light loss of plating in spots. The bottom of the piece does bear some scratches and surface marks from use. The cup/waste bowl measures 2 3/4" in height and 3 1/2" across the mouth. This is a very nice antique Quadruple Silverplate Cup/Waste Bowl from the Meriden Brittania Co. Vintage Middletown Plate Co. Quadruple Silver Plate Sugar Bowl w/Flowers #1421
Up for bid is a sugar bowl made by the Middletown Plate Company. It is quadrupled silver plated. It is stamped on the bottom with"Middletown Plate Co. Quadrupleplate" with a balance scale in the middle. On the bottom is the number 1421 and states"Hard White Metal" and the letters"B.C. CILT" photos 10 and 11) My research shows that the Middletown Plate Company with this stamp was founded in 1864 in Middletown. CT. Also, I wanted to know what"quadrupleplate" was, and what I found out is quadruple silver plate hollowware was some of the highest quality made during the later part of the 19th century. Within the silversmith and silver manufacturing industry. Items marked"Standard" silver plate indictated that 2 troy ounces of pure silver were used to silver electroplate 144 spoons, but"Quadruple" ... moresilverplate used 8 troy ounces of silver to plate the same 144 spoons. This creamer and sugar were made by the Eureka Silver Company. They are quadruple plated. The are tooled with a gorgeous pattern. The sugar bowl is 2 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches handle tip to handle tip. The creamer measures 2 3/4 inches tall and 5 inches from spout tip to handle edge. Both are in great condition. And very clean on the inside. The sugar bowl does have a few scratches on the inside bottom. The sugar spoon is marked 1835 R Wallace. Research did not reveal a pattern name. It is 4 3/4 inches long. This is a great Pairpoint creamer. Sugar& tray set with an Art Nouveau look. It is a heavy set. It has a handcrafted look about it with crimped, ruffled edges and a dimpled design on the sides of the creamer and sugar. The decorative handles look like they are twigs that have foliage or vines growing on them. The tray is very attractive with the same crimped, ruffled edge as the C&S with a ladder design running all the way around it. It is sitting on 4 very decorative feet that lifts it about 1" off the table and has a raised area for each piece to sit on. It is silverplated with an excellent patina. It is marked"Pairpoint Mfg. This is an elegant antique silverplate sugar and creamer set. The bottom of the pieces reads: Dowd Rodgers Co. Wallingford. CT; Quadruple Plate; 1454" The bottom of the pieces also has the letter D enclosed by a circle. Both pieces are clean and in excellent condition. They belonged to my grandmother; since then we have kept them carefully wrapped and stored unused for over 50 years. The sugar bowl is approximately 4" high. The creamer is approximately 3-3/4" high at its highest point. Both pieces have beautiful detailing around their top edges and graceful elegant etched designs on their bowls.

Vintage Quadruple Plate Etched Flowers Sugar & Creamer Bristol Plate Co.
Up for auction is an Antique Quadruple Plate Sugar& Creamer by Bristol Plate Co. The sugar and creamer stand approx. 4 1/8" tall(not including the handles) and a little under 5" including the handles. The sugar and creamer are etched with a grouping of small flowers and leaves on both sides of both pieces. Both pieces are embellished with a raised decorative ring around the middle and have nice fluorishes and embellishment along their rims and at the top and bottom of the handles. Both pieces are in good condition given their age. The silverplate part of the finish has worn off on a few spots on the bottom half of the pitcher bowl below the spout and towards the bottom. The creamer is also slightly pushed in along the middle band on one side(about 7/8" long) and along the very bottom edge in one small area(about 3/4" ... morelong) There are some slight dings on the surface of both pieces. VICTORIAN QUADRUPLE PLATE NEW AMSTERDAM SILVER CO SYRUP PITCHER CREAMER JUG Search Up for auction is a Victorian syrup pitcher or covered creamer jug by new Amsterdam Silver Plate Co. from the late 1800's or early 1900's before 1912 when companies no longer manufactured Quadruple Plate. The syrup is clean on the inside. No monograms and the silver plate is in good condition as shown in the pictures. Could use additional polishing before using. It stands about 3.75 inches tall with a liquid capacity of about 3/4 cups. Please remember that our items are mostly Victorian and always used. Never new or in new condition. They have sat on many tables, held by many loving hands and lived an eventful life. They may have flaws which is part of the character of each individual Victorian or vintage item. The Creamer has a fancy pour handle and an etched Tulip on the side. The Creamer has a uniform gray patina on the outside. From many years storage. The underside of the creamer does have those tinges of blue. Green and red that is often seen on these older pieces. I have not and will not polish this item! I leave that up to the new owner. If they so decide. This piece is Electroplate Silver. And not Sterling! The Creamer measures 3 inches across at the base. The top opening is 1-11/16 inches x 3-1/16 inches tall. The Creamer holds 4 ounces of liquid. And weighs approximately 4.5 ounces. There is a small ding in the bottom rim. Which I mention strictly for accuracy. It would probably not take ... morea lot of skill to tap this out or soften it. Please look at the photographs carefully. And judge the quality of this piece for yourself.
