Antique 1898 VanBergh SP Quadruple Silverplate 4 Pc. Creamer & Sugar #468
Up for auction are 4 pieces of marked"VanBergh SP Co. Pat. May 1898#468" creamer and sugars. They have an ornate raised relief floral edge, part of handles, creamer spout and lid knob and a scroll floral and leaf design on both sides. The covered sugar has 1 small ding on the bottom, the uncovered sugar has 1 small ding on bottom rim and the creamer has 1 ding on the floral design. All pieces need more cleaning, have the typical wear one would expect and on the bottom of one of the pieces is some black which will probably come off(see last picture) While you're here please take a look at my matching dome butter dish w/glass insert listing. Forbes Quadruple Silverplate Open Sugar Bowl# 257 Up for auction is a Forbes Quadruple Silverplate Sugar Bowl. This is an open sugar bowl made to be used without a lid. This antique sugar bowl has a beautiful scalloped rim and an engraved scroll like design in sections around the widest part of the bowl. It is footed and has an eagle head hallmark on the bottom with the words Forbes Silver Co. USA Quadruple. There is some ware from typical use on the inside of bowl. The ribbed area that projects out between the engraved sections has a few small knicks and some ware to the silver. Antique Providence Silverplate Co. Quadruple Plate#412 Sugar and Creamer Set. From an estate and the silver salt shaker and silver bracket ring were stuffed inside. Measure 3.75 inches tall with approximate 12 inch circumference and 3& 3/8 inch diameter on top from outside rim to outside rim. Intricate scroll work design on handles and creamer spout. Etched flower design. Overall condition is good-they appear to be quite old. But have no known date. Half inch scratch on front of sugar bowl under the neck-could be from manufacture. Also small dent on the back side. Creamer has three very small dents on back side and corrosion near bottom of handle on back side. Salt shaker has no markings and the lid won't screw on and lid is corroded. This item measures 2.5 inches tall with 1 inch diameter across top opening. ANTIQUE MERIDEN BRITANNIA B CO QUADRUPLE SILVERPLATE CUP WASTE BOWL SILVER PLATE
You are bidding on an antique Aesthetic Era Quadruple Silverplate Cup or Waste Bowl made by Meriden Brittania Company. At first I thought this was a cup. But after further research, I found that it could also be considered a waste bowl. The cup/waste bowl has a satin finish with a lovely bright-cut engraving of a vine bearing leaves and berries encircling the cup. The interior of the cup/waste bowl has a gold wash. Contrasting beautifully with the silver plate. The bottom bears a Scale within a Circle mark and reads. Meriden B Co. Another circle reads, Quadruple Plate" above the number"026. The Meriden Brittania Co. produced beautiful silverplate objects during the Aesthetic Era. Naturalistic themes were popular during this time which ran from the mid-1800's until early 1900. Antique silver plate from this era was most commonly ... moremarked"Quadruple Plate" denoting that 4 layers of silver plate were used on the piece. The term"Quadruple Plate" was rarely used after 1900. The cup/waste bowl bears normal and expected surface marks from age and use. Especially on the interior, along with a couple of small scratches. There is also some light loss of plating in spots. The bottom of the piece does bear some scratches and surface marks from use. The cup/waste bowl measures 2 3/4" in height and 3 1/2" across the mouth. This is a very nice antique Quadruple Silverplate Cup/Waste Bowl from the Meriden Brittania Co. Antique~Homan Silverplate Co~Pattern2014~Quadruple Plate~Creamer&Sugar Bowl~1896
This creamer and sugar bowl are at least 110 years old. They were made sometime between 1896 and 1904 by the Homan Silverplate Co. These belonged to my husband’s great grandmother. These pieces are pattern 2014. These are beautiful pieces with an etched flower design. The creamer has a dent close to the bottom(see photos) The dent is about 1 ¼” by ¾” It is close the bottom so it is not very noticeable at first glance. I would say that these were probably used on a daily basis so they have minor dings and marks. Silver is hard to photograph because of the reflection. But I hope you can see how beautiful these are. I have polished these and it seems like some of the silver plate has worn off on the lid of the sugar bowl. The little handle on the lid does not even seem to me to be silver. It was very tarnished. But did not polish up ... morelike the rest of it did. There are probably other small areas where the silver plate is worn off. I am in no way a silver expert. More like a novice, so please let me know if you have questions or if I have erred in my description. Read below to see the history of Homan Silver and an explanation of what quadruple plate means. This amazing antique quadruple plated footed sugar bowl made by the WILCOX Silver Plate Company obviously had some hard times during its long life. There are a larger and two smaller dents and one of the soldering at one of the handles got loose but none of these damages hurt the silver plating or the beautiful antique patina of the bowl. Besides this. Incised into one of its sides, the bowl features three gothic characters, my guess is that they are the"CTP" letters. Its another, probably unintentional characteristic is the doubled company mark on the bottom with the number"1937" Standing on its four ornate feet, the bowl is 7" high with the lid and 7 1/4" wide including the also ornate handles. ANTIQUE WARREN QUADRUPLE SILVERPLATE SPOONER W/LID
Up for sale is this very old. Quadruple Plated Spooner, with a Manufactured Mark, Warren Silver Plate Company, New York, with a number, 57 F or E, see picture 3. It is in very good condition for its age and it measures 8 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide at the outer edge of the handles. It has not been cleaned or polished. The cover fits tight. But it does have slight dent on the inside were the bird was mounted to the top, which you can see in picture 9, and it is hardly noticeable on the outside and it also has some small dings which are also hardly noticeable. But manufactured not to have one! measures 3" tall, with a circumference of about 11" The bowl with the finial lid measures 6" with a similar circumference. Marks reads: James W Tufts. Boston Warranted, Quadruple Plate, 2231. BOTH have the same mark. And the same very faint"W" monogrammed on one side. Dated 1875-1915. Both are in great condition with no dents or gauges; exceptionally minor general wear. Please email with questions! Antique Quadruple Silverplate Creamer made by New Amsterdam Silver Co
This is an antique quadruple silver-plate creamer made by New Amsterdam Silver Co. The creamer has an etched floral pattern on the front side. Beading around the top and a footed base. It is marked on the bottom(see photo) plus a pattern number of 600. This item is in fair condition with heavy tarnish. A shallow dent under the spout. The upper rim seems a bit irregular as well, but it looks as if the rim was applied so that may be more of a production flaw. The creamer stands about 3.75" tall.

Vintage AMERICAN SILVERPLATE CO. 613 Quadruple Creamer This stunning piece is a throwback to America’s Gilded Age of railroad tycoons and oil barons that romped at summer homes in Newport and later. The Great Gatsby’s Long Island estate. The AMERICAN SILVERPLATE CO. was the trade name of Simpson Hall Miller& Co. As a vintage piece it shares minor signs of age just like a society grande dame. But those are signs of character and connote an air of a trusted lifelong butler who has dedicated his life to the persons residing“upstairs” In that context. I have noted that many of my silver-selling colleagues offer items“in need of polishing. This leaves the buyer in a vulnerable position as many major flaws cannot be identified until the polishing processing is complete. This listing is for an antique. Silverplate creamer, sugar bowl and waste bowl. The pieces are monogrammed with the letter C, and are marked: Forbes Silver Co Quadruple 185. They all have some plate wear around the bellies. The creamer is 4" to the rim, and 5" handle to spout. The waste bowl is 4" to the rim and 5.5" handle to handle. The sugar is 4.25" to the rim, about 5.25" to the top of the knob, and 6.25" handle to handle. The interior of the sugar bowl has dark spots. Shipping is based on 4lbs, packed weight.
