Today you can go anywhere in the entire world within 24 hours by plane. Just think way back when before commercial airlines. People traveled primarily by railroad or by ship. Traveling was long, hard, and exhausting. People would literally live out of these trunks as they traveled for weeks and sometimes months on end. Thus. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. On the interior right side. The trunk has 5 wood drawers with original deco drawer pulls and covered in swanky antique fabric. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? Wardrobe measures outside approximately 66” H. x 38” W. x 22” D. With double doors. Each door measures 15-1/2” W. x 38” H. About 25” H. from bottom of closet with a lock on each door, 2 keys which operate in either lock. Inside dimensions are 20” D. x 61” H. 34” L. wooden dowel/rod. Brass-looking, old-fashioned door hinges, pulls, and key holes. Overall excellent condition; only condition issues are: the right-hand door is not quite flush at bottom(although is secure and locks) ... morefinish somewhat crackled toward top. Normal wear from over time; scratches in a somewhat circular pattern about 2” below key hole when wardrobe was moved in and out of basement. Also. This items needs a good cleaning and has never been cleaned. I wiped some of the dirty spots with water only the rest is up to the new owner. There is a melt mark on the top and stain here and there that will probably clean up. The shoe holder has 3 out of 4 knobs that hold it on(picture#5) The draws all work and open as they should. It does not have wallpaper in the back as I have seen with other wardrobes. Nothing is broken beside the shoe hanger knob. Still the shoes hanger is attached securely as it is. This is just an adorable patterns for a 20" baby type doll. Can be used for Chatty Cathy. That adorable Talking Doll, but may need some adjustments to the pattern. Pattern makes eight different and totally adorable outfits. Pattern is undated, but probably from the early 1960's. Pattern is used, complete, cut and all pattern pieces but one are originals. The collar for View C&D is a copy of the 23" pattern piece that can be cut to size. This is a lovely 1964 12" Alexander doll with original wardrobe carrying case and clothing. The doll is dressed in a very nice outfit. This doll has been well taken care of. All her clothing is neat and clean. She has 3 different outfits. The blue laced dress she is wearing with white tights and shoes. She also has a green knit jumper with a knit hat. A lovely blue dress with satin and lace top. The doll also still has her original carrying wardrobe with stand and has hats, bib and teddy bear. The inside of the case has tiny teddy bears and hearts decorating the lining. This is a very nice doll for the true Alexander doll collector. Vintage World of Barbie Doll Trunk made in 1969 by Mattel. Inc. This vintage trunk appears to be rare and for the age, it is in pristine condition. Super clean and from a smoke-free and pet-free home. The trunk measures 14" high, 11.5" wide, and 7.25" deep. It is of gift giving quality. There are a few light surface scratches but these are almost negligible and there is a photo showing the 3 marks. The front and back are adorned with a red, green, and blue psychedelic flower design surrounding images of Barbie and her friends. The inside has two small plastic cabinets with doors that swing freely, a metal clothes rod and slots for 4 dolls. The elastic works well and is ready to hold your dolls safely as they travel. For auction is one piece of Antique Doll furniture. We got this from an estate at least 25 years ago and we were told that it was a German piece of doll furniture and that it was OLD. I don't know how old it is for sure accept for the time we have had it. It has decorations on both side of the doors that look almost like what I have seen on a swiss clock. I think. There are hearts and deer facing each other and birds facing each other and the colors are blue red and yellow and white. The knobs on the little cabinet are red. The cabinet itself is blue and some of the spray paint that they use is on the bottom. It is an Armoir and it has a place for hanging clothes which is approx. 8" I have one old wire hanger with it. It has three little cubby holes on the left side which are approx. 3 1/2" and it has a space at the top which ... moreis approx. 4" The entire wardrobe/armoire is approx. 16 1/2" tall, 14 1/2 wide and approx. 7 1/4" deep. I DO NOT SEE any markings on it at all to tell which country it came from but I was told it was German.so just not sure. It has some scuffs on it but no major paint or scratches. It has a little tiny chip of wood missing on one of the little feet but you can hardly see it. The back is Masonite board. The rest is wood. The doors shut tight. Antique Vintage 1920's Winship Wardrobe Trunk Obviously shows some wear from age but I think it's in very good condition considering. Interior fabric is in good shape. All latches are in working order. Drawers are clean and in good working order. Top drawer locks and comes with original key. Lock works! Chest comes with original key. Has the name Sharp painted in green and in red on the trunk. There are a few minor light brown spots on fabric in drawers here and there. Trunk measures 44" tall. 22" long and 15" wide This is a really great piece. Feel free to message with any questions regarding this item!
