Chest has very nice carved feet front and back with bowed top as well as bowed front. It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Here is a stunning and very desirable approximately 150 year old antique Japanese small Choba tansu. Or merchant's chest, dating from the Meiji Era around the mid to late 1800's, featuring a lock bar in the center and classical safe compartment at the bottom right. It boasts a natural light colour with a rich honey patina, beautifully shaped hand forged iron hardware, wood peg construction and 8 drawers of various sizes that provide versatile storage options including a full width drawer at the top. It is in excellent overall condition for it's age. But has a little lock issue: as there is no key and the top drawer lock is in the closed position ... morewith the drawer open it will not shut all the way. The safe compartment has a tendency to swing open by itself since there is no key to lock it. The lock issue does NOT affect the lock bar which slides in and out of place properly. Please read the description and examine the photos for more details on the condition. Locksmiths and larger antique dealers will own sets of multiple keys to fit a broad range of locks so you should be able to get the drawer unlocked easily enough so it slides into place. With a little patience you could also find an antique key that fits right here on ebay(I can recommend a seller who regularly stocks this type of item) Other small issues worth noting are a small repair in the bottom corner of the smallest drawer just above the safe compartment. The larger top drawer is stiff to open and close due to age and needs a tweak, and one corner plate in the back is bent out of shape. Given it's age there is some wearing off of the blackening of a few small spots of the iron, and a couple of small nails are missing. Antique Miniature Doll Chest with Hankie Drawers Salesman Sample 12” High x 12” Wide x 6 ½“ Deep*It is darker than it looks in the photos. The finish has a darkened aged look– beautiful. This is a wonderful old piece- I believe it to be about 1920 It has 2 handkerchief drawers on the top. There are 2 drawers side by side and below those. 2 large drawers. The drawer pulls are wood. There grooves in the 2 small drawers and in the bottom drawers. On the sides of the chest. There are grooves again, nice detail. When it is upside down the bottom is the bottom of the last drawer. Only one side of the center drawer is dovetailed, it was easier and cheaper to make that way. The salesman had the one corner as an example to show his customers. Condition: Really very good. There are no splits in the outside wood. A couple of the drawers have wood ... moresplits(inside) The corner of the back right facing leg was broken off. But it looks like someone shaped it. It is not noticeable unless you compare the sides. There is a stain in one drawer see photo. All of the drawers slide easily. It needs a good cleaning. Look at all the photos and ask questions. It measures 12 inches by about 9 and weighs over 10 3/4 pounds of brass. The brass is put together with rivets for strength on all sides. It was designed by a German immigrant, Herman Schmarsow of New York City. The patent date and number are on the bottom of the box. It was patented as a Safety Jewelry Chest. What is amazing about this old strongbox is that it has a built in motion sensor alarm system. Under the brass plate on the bottom is an alarm with an arm that would strike the side of the box with a loud clanging noise if the box was lifted. Moving the alarm pin on the underside. All the parts are there. But of course, batteries would have ... moreto be attached to make it work. There is a lock on the front. But unfortunately, I have no key. FABULOUS Antique VICTORIAN Wicker FLOOR Sewing Basket Box Chest RARE!
This is an absolutely FANTASTIC antique Victorian wicker sewing basket from the 1800's which is a real PIECE OF FURNITURE! It is more than likely ONE OF A KIND! It is HEAVY for what it is and has two strong handles. The wicker is painted white and has so many INTRICATE designs in it that it is UNBELIEVABLE! I don't know what the different designs are called. In all the 40 years I have been doing antiques I have NEVER seen anything like it! It has a large deep compartment on top with a lid with a latch(solid wood floor to it) and underneath is an open compartment with a wicker floor. Piece measures 27" tall to the top of the handles and 25 3/4" to the top of the closed top compartment. It is 22 1/4"handle to handle. The covered top compartment measures 16 1/2" by 14" deep. Inside is approximately 16" by ... more13 1/2" and 5 1/4" deep. The bottom open area measures approximately 13 1/2" by 11" and is 3" deep. No maker's mark. Good condition with some wicker missing from one of the handles and one strand separated on the lid. Paint chipped in a few places but not bad. Antique Completely Restored Oak Hotel Washstand with Mirror Chest Dresser No Res
You are bidding on a hotel washstand that has been completely restored by a professional refinisher. It is in more or less perfect condition now. It is finished in a medium oak color with minwax provential stain. Finished with several coats of Sherwin Williams sand& sealer and two coats of Sherwin Williams top coat water proof lacquer. The entire piece of furniture has been sprayed and sealed good, including drawer bottoms, back and bottom of the piece. The solid brass has been cleaned and lightly polished with jewelers rough. The finish is hand-rubbed and it looks like it has just be waxed. The bevel mirror is original, has some distortation because of age. The towel bar including the bar itself is all original. The base comes apart from the towel bar and mirror for easy transport. As you can see the back looks just about as good as ... morethe front. Gorgeous antique Federal chest of drawers. Four graduated. Full length drawers. Wood looks like mahogany with remarkable contrasting diamond pattern inlay work bordering the edges of the drawer faces and down the sides of the front of the piece. Dovetail joints in all of the drawers as well as oval mount, bail handle drawer pulls. The drawer pulls are not original to the piece. Inlaid, shield shaped wooden key surrounds. Turned feet show influence from earlier styles. Panelled sides and an overhanging, unmolded top complete the dresser. Piece dates from the early 1800's. This wonderful piece combines elements of both Hepplewhite and Sheraton design. Overall. The chest is in very good condition. There is some damage to the finish on the top of the dresser as well as some breakage to the inlay on both sides of the bottom stripe. Estate ~ Antique CIVIL WAR Era Jenny Lind Stagecoach Chest UNRESTORED

Great piece, measuring approx. 30" wide x 19" x 17-3/4" tall. This is an antique Jenny Lind stagecoach chest commonly called a corset trunk because of the waist shape. These trunks date to the Civil War period and were used mostly by women traveling. Unrestored, original exterior leather covering, original brass strips and large brass tacks that decorate the body of this chest. The interior is worn from age and use but has remnants of the original paper liner. Condition is good this trunk is unrestored but would look beautiful with a little work. At some point it looks like someone started to fix it up but never completed. Certainly not perfect but lots of potential ... morehere ~ It has original leather covering that is very good with minimal losses& wear. It appears to me that someone oiled or waxed the leather. The leather straps with buckles appear to be good, I am not sure if the belts, buckles& handles on the side are original or replaced. The lock has been removed covered by a decorative leather flap as shown. Bottom is sturdy without rot, lid opens and closes okay. I have seen these chests stripped of the leather and refinished. They look terrific with the mellow pine wood and polished brass straps and buttons. I have also seen them in the original leather with buffed straps and buttons which is a classy look too. Vanderman Tool Chest. It was manufactured by Vanderman Manufacturing Company in Williamantic. CT. The patent date is July 13, 1897. These chests were used to carry tools. This box turns a lot of heads. Unique. There are six forged handles that won't rise above level, said to be used to carry the trunk by several men and designed to not crush fingers when it was full. It has never been restored so it is in original antique condition. It has visible rust. Please view all pictures. Trunk measurements are 26" wide x 50 1/4" long. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. Nice decorative details and two small drawers on the top. The top of the top left drawer is cracked and could be fixed(see picture) The chest has some scratches and dings here and there but overall is in good condition for it's age. One of numerous antiques that I've had for years and this one has been a favorite! I purchased it at an auction in the 1980's from the estate of an elderly couple. The woman told me it had been her Grandmother's and dated to about 1900. I've forgotten what kind of wood it is but it's lovely. Some signs of normal wear commensurate to age. But nothing glaring such as gouges or significant nicks/chinks out of the wood. You can tell it was lovingly maintained, is solid and high end quality. The mirror swivels all the way around w/o issues. The drawer glides easily and the drawer compartment is clean. The legs are sound. Remnants of a sticker but that could be easily removed. Or mirror stand& vanity dating from the early Showa period between1930 and the early 50's boasts an adjustable 3 way mirror that creates multiple reflections, made in a beautiful extra thick quality glass with beveled borders that still has a very clear reflection for its age. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. Unique Oak Chest- Circa 1728 An oak chest. The molded hinged lid above a frieze incised, Gerdt Mohr. Anno 1728" and three paterae, over two panels within chip-carved stiles on a molded plinth. An antique evaluator said the following: A typical vernacular joined chest of a type that had evolved in Europe in the Middle Ages. It is quite an old fashioned design for 1728. But away from the metropolitan centres, such patterns prevailed until well into the 19th century. Although conceivably from provincial Northern Germany, it is quite possible that it could have been made by a German immigrant craftsman in the eastern U.S. Height: 18.5 inches. Last year. April-June, I made a lot of eBayers very happy! I held a big sale of antique paintings and other items(over 100! from a large London mansion. Enthusiastic buyers won LOTS of wonderful family heirlooms for very little(see my 100% feedback! and came to pick them up from the house(a few minutes walk from London's Oxford Circus) I'd intended to move out and spent the rest of the year abroad. I'm now back in the UK and the place is(contrary to planning) still mine! So I'm back in the old house again, temporarily, and will be selling a few more things until my final move. Storage Chest/Trunk/Box"A grand old chest! ... moreFor years this has been a magical dressing up box! It's full of lots of antique costumes and accessories. Younger relations head straight for it when they visit! But it would be good as a blanket box or general storage. It's very tall and has a huge amount of space. It looks a bit more impressive than many similar items. Having some grand trimmings, almost armorial. The carvings on the front are very imposing and clearly of some age. This type of carving often surrounded a coat of arms, which may have been removed in years gone by. It also has some lovely brass lion's feet(which really need shining up…they'll look really good when polished! We believe the front of the chest is much old than the rest. It's not uncommon to have wooden furniture rebuilt over the years. Often when they suffer from woodworm or general wear. One of the four rosettes on the front isn't there(I've only just noticed this, after all these years! It's dark wood, so you don't really notice. DESCRIPTION: Beautiful 2-piece curly maple 10 drawer flat top highboy. It is an 18th century New England piece that spent a lot of its years in Maine. It is curly maple with secondary woods of poplar and what appears to be chestnut or ash. The back of the base appears to be maple. The back of the top section appears to be chestnut or ash. The drawer sides and backs are poplar. The two square drawers have poplar bottoms. The other drawers have bottoms that appear to be a combination of poplar and chestnut or ash. The base and top section are both dove tailed construction. Visible nail heads are of a rectangular shape. The brass pulls are old but do not appear to be original. The legs may have been replaced but cannot say for certain. It appears to have the original finish and is a very beautiful piece of history. Beautiful blanket chest features a front panel of pine that is a single cut- this size cut-pine probably can no longer be found. Likely dates to the 1700's. With lift top and two lower drawers. It is a warm-toned and handsome piece. Replacing hardware would improve its look. Top lift panel was damaged in a move and professionally repaired. Finish has not been touched. 18th C. Antique Chest, Vibrant 19th C. Grain Paint, Orig. Hardware, Unrestored
This is an 18th C. chest that was intricately grain painted in the early to mid 19th C. The grain painted hardware. And almost all of the fasteners, appear to be original to the chest. The chest is 47"W, 23.5"D, 17"H(not counting the casters) and perhaps 100 lbs. The chest is functional and extremely solid with grain painted metal corners and edges. However, it is ~230+ years old and there are condition issues. The right hinge has been repaired with a modern bolt. Also, there is a ~2" area of the left rear top that has been weakened by the open till door and potential water exposure. Surprisingly, there is very little movement, or play, in the hinges. The original feet are missing and very old casters are in their place. There are areas of missing paint, particularly the left top. If desired, each of these condition issues(including the missing paint) could be resolved by a skilled furniture restorer. Others may enjoy the chest as it is. Walnut Maple Antique Vintage Chest Depression Era Drawers & Glove Box Sheraton
1700- 1800's Sheraton chest/ dresser. Two toned wood. Hand carved and just a beautiful piece. I think it may be walnut and maple but could be mahogany too. Exquisite piece with the beautiful designed front and glove box on the top. This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen! I don't know the maker because I don't know alot about furniture so can't answer too many questions. If I guessed by looking at other ones listed on ebay it looks like a Sheraton but I don't know how to really tell for sure. But here is a description of Sheraton furniture and it is exactly like this chest with the marketry and different woods and straight and tapered legs. I do know it is very old and has the handmade handcut dovetail drawers. I am guessing the age to be circa 1700-1800's because of the handcut dovetails. Antique pine Chippendale chest-over-drawer or blanket chest. Lift top covers a generous storage well and is held in place with remarkable old cotter-pin or snipe hinges. Inside. There is a smaller storage box and a drawer. There is one large drawer below with dovetail joints. It has two brass willow mount and bail handle pulls that match the brass escutcheon above. Bracket feet and scalloped skirts on the front and sides. This piece has a beautiful aged patina Overall. The chest is in good condition. There is some significant wear to the lid, corners and feet as well as around the edges of the drawer. Antique American Chippendale Maple Tall Chest of Drawers Circa 1770 Description: An American maple Chippendale tall chest of drawers. New England, circa 1770. The chest is almost certainly from the Boston area and has four graduated drawers over two short drawers, a molded top, and straight bracket feet. The hardware is period and possibly original, though there has been at least one other set of hardware on the chest in the past. Secondary wood is pine throughout. It has been refinished but has a nice warm honey color. Three of the four long drawers have their original locks. All the wood is original with no major repairs or restoration. The top has a split going across which has some stabilization blocks underneath. The sides also have splits running top to bottom on both side. Please view all photos carefully. The chest is 46 3/4" ... morehigh by 39"wide by 19 1/2" deep. Guaranteed to be as described.
