It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. This one is the oldest& the smallest of the three. It appears to be pre 1940's. It has the initals K.C. hand painted on each end by Louis Vuitton. Bought from John Wanamaker Department Store in New York. The serial number is 793314. It has a Hotel Savoia Majestic. Genova, Italy label on the left side& part of a Cunard White label on the lid. The main latch catch has: 149 New Bond St. London on the left side& 70 Champs Elysess on the right side. It measures aprox 27 3/4" L X 8 3/4" H X 17 1/4" W. There are some scratches& wear but all in all very good shape for it's age. After all it was used as luggage on cruise ships& hotels. We visited the Louis ... moreVuitton Shop at Lenox Mall in Atlanta. Ga. was informed that Louis Vuitton can replace the missing handle. It does have the tray. There is some staining inside& pieces of tape on the lid. 2. The middle size was purchased at Marshall Fields. Pre 1950's? It has EPW handpainted on each end. The serial# is 793347. This one also has 149 New Bond St. London on the left side& 70 Champs Elysess on the right side of the main latch catch. It measures 29 3/4 L X 8 1/2" H X 18 1/8" W. There are also pieces of tape on the inside lid. There is some age related wear& scratches. It used as luggage on cruises& hotels& has some staining inside. It does have the tray. 3. The largest& newest of the three. It also has EPW handpainted on each end. The serial# is 907716. The handle has some wear. But the trunk itself has very little. The inside has little or no wear at all. Looks new. I checked at the LV store in Atlanta& found the same size bag listed for over $7.800.00. Not sure of the age maybe the 70's or 80's. Great Color and Design Lots of Storage and Function We are offering for sale a MATCHING PAIR of antique European flat top steamer trunks. Exact age unknown but believe to be around 1910 era. During this period. The Europeans were in the vanguard of innovation with wood. These trunks are made with birch plywood that has been steamed and bent in a mold to form the curved edges. The high ribbed hard wood slats are unique to European trunks and are also made with the steaming and bending process. This trunk is covered with a heavy canvas that has been painted to look like embossed leather. Interiors are CLEAN and retain the original mottled colored paper. Lots of charm and character.
