It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. Stunning vintage 1870's steamer trunk. Little different to the normal ones from this era. Quite a topic of conversation with visitors this one. The large impressive chest comes metal upright banding. Horizontal hard wooden banding held with large brass studs. Replacment top clamps added these were missing. Brass lock and Hasp. Shellac with Bri Wax polish finish. Two working side catches. Its been cleaned up and given a nice Bri Wax and shellac finish so comes with a nice shine. Lots of uses it could be put to. Blanket box, coffee table, tack box for horses etc or a tool box. Up for sale is this beautiful refinished antique flat top steamer trunk/victorian pirate chest with tray. It measures 28 1/2" long by 18" wide and 11 1/2" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained then sealed with of spar urethane. The interior has been redone with a newer fabric liner at some point in this trunk's history- it has some wear and blemishes but overall it is in very good condition. This trunk is a great decor piece that is functional for storage, hope chest, files, etc. Ask if you have any questions and thank you for looking.

1800's ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FLAT TOP WALL TRUNK CHEST DATED W/LOCK & KEY
Up for consideration is a rare. Restored, antique wall trunk. It has a working lock& key. It has dated hinges that read"Dec 22 1891" It has been cleaned well inside and out. A new covering was put inside to resemble the old, so no musty smell. All original hardware and wood has been lightly sanded then sealed with a satin finish. New leather handles were put on. Antique Wood Child's Doll Trunk Chest Litho Paper ~~needs work
For your consideration is this primitive antique wood Child's or Doll Trunk. Rounded top. The inside is covered with litho paper designs, very nice, with compartments. Unfortunately, some previous owner covered the outside with thick gold gilt paint, peeling off. Other flaws include: the leather straps are dry and split in two, appears to be missing hinges in the back. I think the wood is walnut, not positive. The trunk measures about 8 1/2" tall, and 12" by 8"

Jenny Lind Steamer Trunk/ Chest This is a Jenny Lind Steamer Trunk/ Chest. My best guess is that this dates to the mid 1800's. I purchased this in the Amish area of Pennsylvania about 30 years ago. It is in the same condition as it was when I purchased it. It is complete with the tray and the top has a compartment with a hinged door. The inside and the tray have been lined with wallpaper- beautifully done. To the best of my knowledge. All of the leather is original. It has the original Brass Lock with a star pattern. The key is included and the trunk does lock. The trunk automically locks when you close the lid. If the key is not present. Oak slats have been sanded and stained in a rich red mahogany and coated with polyurethane. My goal with this one is to make it look untouched, but still have a clean usable antique. The interior is newly finished as well. Stripped, sealed and covered in a deep brown felt, no old trunk smell! The handles are original. And still look very nice. It doesn't appear to have ever had wheels on the bottom. Bottom is also refinished. Note: the top has 2 cracks. Has its original ball feet, iron butt hinges, and it is nice and clean too. It appears to have been made circa 1840 and you can see under the graining that it was red. Nice Refinished Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Tray
This is a very nice refinished steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 21 inches. There are some common or typical distress marks on this trunk. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. The majority of all trunks have distress marks of some nature like this one. Local pick up only.

Storage Chest/Trunk/Box"A grand old chest! ... moreFor years this has been a magical dressing up box! It's full of lots of antique costumes and accessories. Younger relations head straight for it when they visit! But it would be good as a blanket box or general storage. It's very tall and has a huge amount of space. It looks a bit more impressive than many similar items. Having some grand trimmings, almost armorial. The carvings on the front are very imposing and clearly of some age. This type of carving often surrounded a coat of arms, which may have been removed in years gone by. It also has some lovely brass lion's feet(which really need shining up…they'll look really good when polished! We believe the front of the chest is much old than the rest. It's not uncommon to have wooden furniture rebuilt over the years. Often when they suffer from woodworm or general wear. One of the four rosettes on the front isn't there(I've only just noticed this, after all these years! It's dark wood, so you don't really notice. Haskell Bros True Steamer Cabin Travelers Trunk Antique Chest Leather Wood
Up for auction is a rare antique Haskell Bros. Chicago true steamer Cabin trunk approximately 40"x14"x20" It shows it's age but still very beautiful. This true low-profile steamer is harder to come by then the taller flat lids. Materials include leather. Oak, canvas and hand pounded metals. Haskell Bros are among one of the top names in American trunks. This trunk is very solid and latches still work. I do not have the key. Please see Photos for condition. Trunk does have a musty smell from being close for so long I will be airing it out till it is sold. There are no signs of water damage or mold. ANTIQUE STEAMER CHEST VICTORIAN DOME TOP TRUNK - RESTORED REFINISHED WITH KEY
Up for sale is this beautiful antique dome top steamer trunk with ornate embossed metal work and a working key. The trunk measures 32" long by 18" wide and 21" tall. The exterior of this trunk was cleaned. Sanded and the wood slats were stained with minwax"golden oak" then the trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition. BEST RESTORED ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK VALISE VICTORIAN JENNY LIND STAGECOACH CHEST
You would have to look hard to find a better restored origianl Genny Lind stagecoach trunk. This mid 1800s trunk has had a great restoration including new leather straps and buckles on the outside. Lovely quilted interior. And beatiful restoration of the tooled leather covering. And it does not smell! On the interior it still sports the wood restraining flap that would allow you to fill that side of the trunk and then close it without everything falling out. See the last 2 photos Petite size approximately 20" long. 13.5" wide and 9" deep. A kind and knowledgeable ebayer just added this info. the actual name for one of these is a valise. They used to put that on many of the old labels. Such as trunk, valise, and carpet bag manufacturer. condition. Overall a great looking trunbk but it is about 150+ years old. the hinges have ... morebeen replaced and work perfectly. The lock in not functional but it closes fine. Some of the leather is loose, mostly noted on one side. ANTIQUE CAMEL HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK CHEST DOME TRAY WOOD METAL LARGE VICTORIAN This is a really nice and big 1870's Antique Stea mer trunk pa rti ally restored to original magnifice nce. It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side ... morelocking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. This exquisite intricately carved Chinese chest comes from our personal collection. We acquired it over 20 years ago from our friends who were in the Army and Navy Intelligence community during many tours of duty in China. Items from their collection were exhibited in San Francisco. In 1929 my friend's father got this chest. He was told that it took one family one year to carve it. We were shown it over 20 years ago and thought it was beautiful- we purchased it then from my friend. There is a letter available for viewing upon request that tells this story. Nice Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Key and Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key. Interior Compartment Area, and Tray Here is a very nice clean refinished dome top steamer trunk or travel trunk from the late 1800's. Here are the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 inches. From floor to top is approximately 23 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 inches. This beautiful hump back chest is made up of poplar base wood with oak outer slat boards. The wood has a nice natural color, or patina which has come about only by age since there was no staining of the wood during the refinishing process. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in pretty good condition with only some typical character marks which include older nicks and dings and some stress cracks. This one comes with ... morethe original working lock. We have matched up a key that does activate the lock. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass, and have therefore been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The front latches are original and are in working condition since the springs are intact. The side handles on this trunk have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. All of the leather that we use on our trunks comes from an Amish man in an Amish community near our house here in Pennsylvania. Going to the interior of this great trunk. It comes with an interior tray which we have replaced the bottom with wood to make it sturdy. This trunk's interior has also has the hidden compartment on the left side under the dome that we recreated. We put the drop door back on this compartment area and added a nice picture to the door. You can drop this door down to put items in this area and conceal them up inside the dome. At the right side, we have left the original decorative emblem and border in place. Arch Top Steamer Trunk Beautifully restored. 1800's trunk. Top is covered in a crocodile vinyl, new handles made of the same crocodile vinyl. Wood has a deep red mahogany finish, remainder of trunk is finished in deep browns, finished on the bottom also. Interior is covered in a deep brown felt. Nice sturdy piece. Doesn't look like it ever had latches, does have a lock, but no key. I have been told that a locksmith will be able to come up with a key, due to the primitive nature of the lock. It also never had wheels, like some do, and no interior trays. Has enough of a flat surface on top to hold a tray, so it could be used as a coffee or end table. Gorgeous Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Fancy Hardware. Working Lock and Key, and Interior Divided Tray This is a really fancy dome top steamer trunk or hump back chest from the mid to late 1800's. We have removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This beautiful camel back chest is made up of pine and poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. As usual. There are plenty of older distress marks on this trunk from many years of usage. These character marks do include older nicks and dings and some stress cracks in various places. Overall, the trunk is sturdy and you can sit on the top of this trunk without any problems in case you want to use it at the foot of the bed while changing your clothing. Here ... moreare the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/4 inches. From floor to top is approximately 24 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This one definitely has a heck of a lot of fancy metal hardware. None of the metal on this trunk is brass, so we have therefore brush painted the metal parts by hand in black and gold leaf. If you have been waiting for a flashy, fancy dome top, then here it is. There are patent dates on some of the cap metal. It looks like March of 1880. We have shown a close up picture of one of these dates on this trunk. This gorgeous trunk comes with the original working lock. There appears to be a patent date on the key hole cover, although it is difficult to see the year. It does have April abbreviated. We did match up a key that works with this lock. The engagement prong on this lock has been pried open in the past, but it still engages with the upper part ok. The front latches work properly since the springs are intact. These nice front latches are off of a parts trunk which should date back to nearly the same time that this trunk was made. This is a very clean large oak trunk that has a variety of uses such as a blanket chest. Toy chest, or wonderful coffee table. It is made of solid oak with the original finish that has a nice patina and is finished on all sides including the back. The inside of the trunk has been painted red but can be stripped back to the natural oak. The trunk is 48" wide, 22" deep, and 24 1/2" tall. There is a piano hinge that opens the top. There is a lock but I do not have the key. The trunk was originally on rollers. One of the blocks under the trunk that holds the roller insert is damaged but is easily repairable if rollers are prefered. Email with any questions.
