THANK YOU. Here is a stunning and very desirable approximately 150 year old antique Japanese small Choba tansu. Or merchant's chest, dating from the Meiji Era around the mid to late 1800's, featuring a lock bar in the center and classical safe compartment at the bottom right. It boasts a natural light colour with a rich honey patina, beautifully shaped hand forged iron hardware, wood peg construction and 8 drawers of various sizes that provide versatile storage options including a full width drawer at the top. It is in excellent overall condition for it's age. But has a little lock issue: as there is no key and the top drawer lock is in the closed position with the drawer open it will not shut all the way. The safe compartment has a tendency to swing open by itself since there is no key to lock it. The lock issue does NOT affect the lock bar which slides in and out of place properly. Please read the description and examine the photos for more details on the condition. Locksmiths and larger antique dealers will own sets of multiple keys to fit a broad range of locks so you should be able to get the drawer unlocked easily enough so it slides into place. With a little patience you could also find an antique key that fits right here on ebay(I can recommend a seller who regularly stocks this type of item) Other small issues worth noting are a small repair in the bottom corner of the smallest drawer just above the safe compartment. The larger top drawer is stiff to open and close due to age and needs a tweak, and one corner plate in the back is bent out of shape. Given it's age there is some wearing off of the blackening of a few small spots of the iron, and a couple of small nails are missing. A vintage or semi pair of Allen Company neoprene chest waders size 8 or 41. Chest measures 44 inches. Inseam 32.5 inches, shoe 8. The neoprene is faded in spots almost a tie dye look from sun and salt water, but otherwise looks solid and good. No tears or rips. The model is gold stream. The waders have a nice front pocket for keeping your fishing items in. The buckles and straps work fine and adjust. The boots are also a size 8 and show some wear but have no holes. This tackle box is 13 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" tall when closed. The latch works fine but no key. It has one shelf like the picture shows and to surface rust in the bottom. Fridge-style cooler has a handle on each side for easy carrying and both handles also have nifty bottle openers. The inside of the cooler has one metal shelf but we cannot say for sure if it is original to the cooler. The cooler can be sat upright on on it's back like a normal cooler. The bevel glass mirror is in surprisingly good condition(as you can see in the photos) I am including three glass shelves. Two of the shelves appear to be original. The third shelf is a replacement. Up for bid is an antique/vintage. Dark green medicine chest with mirror and crystal/glass knob. The actual frame of the chest seems to be in good condition, although the interior has been painted at some point and is flaking badly. The outside, dark green paint is patchy in the best sort of way, but could also be refinished. The mirror has some patina to it but is still clear enough to be useful. The inside has nice shelf supports, although the glass shelves would need replaced as none have survived. The overall measurements are 21 1/4 inches wide x 25 inches tall x 6 inches deep. The wall insert portion is 17 1/2 inches wide x 21 1/2 inches tall x 5 inches deep.
