Vintage (1959+) American Character Tiny Tears Vinyl Doll with Wardrobe
On offer is a vintage'Tiny Tears' American Character doll from the 1950's. Please note that this doll was previously listed but a kind Ebayer. With much more doll knowledge than I, pointed out to me when that listing was live that what I thought was'rubber' in her body probably wasn't, plus her eyes were actually'rock a bye' so I de-listed her as these were major adjustments in description. This is the revised accurate listing, with a revised starting price too! Tiny Tears' was one of the most popular baby dolls of the 50's and early'60's. It's not hard to see why. She has the most adorable face and plump little body with dimples around the mouth and double dimples on her knees. The model is distinguished by the two tiny holes on either side of the bridge of the nose. This is where the tears ... morecame out when the doll's tummy was squeezed after she drank her bottle. She was manufactured by the American Character Doll Company and was offered in a variety of sizes. This one measures 13" 33 cm from the top of her curly rooted brunette hair scalp to the base of her feet. Head is harder vinyl. There is a slight green dis-colouration along the hair line. Blue eyes are'rock a bye' eyes. I believe, as they don't close automatically when she is laid down but close slowly as she is rocked back and forth. This feature was introduced in 1959(so she is no older than that! Body is softer and'squeezeable' but also appears to be vinyl. As rubber(which Tiny Tears were also often made of in the early days) would be more'stretchy' and would likely have dis-coloured. This doll is extremely durable and can take a lot of'hugging and lugging' Fingers and toes all intact. What I also love about this doll is the fact that. Unlike many other mass produced dolls, her fingers are not joined but splayed so that each finger is separate. From 1963. This Susy Goose wardrobe for Barbie is in very good used condition. Made of plastic in an off-white color, the piece measures approximately 13 inches tall by 6.75 inches wide by 4 inches deep. The door front is marked“Susy Goose Jonesville, Michigan” and“Toys that Mold Character” and“made in the USA” and“Barbie. The back panel has Mattel markings with a 1963 date. There is dried residue from some tape on one side, and a light mark in pencil. The color has yellowed only very slightly on the front. The doors open and close well. This item matches the Barbie Susy Goose hope chest I currently have listed. The inside features a mirror and shoe rack on the left door. The right side features a small shelf and a bar to hang items. The inside has a removable combination shelf and clothes hanger. And three drawers for storage on the inside ... moreright. All drawers work well. Vintage 1940's composition Vogue doll with her original Medford. Mass tagged costume and additional wardrobe. She measures approximately 19 inches tall. Found at an estate auction: an incredible 1961 BARBIE DOLL collection- everything sold. I am now finally selling the BARBIE carrying case itself. This is the iconic large black vinyl case featuring"Ponytail Barbie" and what is more rare is that this case is designed to hold TWO dolls. The exterior vinyl surface is in really very good condition, very minimal scratching or staining, and NO tears in the material. Some surface rust on the metal parts. Functioning handle and latch. The inside is missing one of the wardrobe drawers. But both hanging bars, both red vinyl doll holder straps with snap closure are fully intact and functional. The inside is intact without rips, but looks like it could use more cleaning.
