Serial number is 777646 Bought from Saks& Company Fifth Avenue New York Has initials G.C.R. My husband hand made a new coffee table stand for it that is custom fit. The measurements are 30"x 18"x 8 1/2" When in the table the height is 20 1/2" Please look at the pics carefully They are the best description of condition. The brass has dark patina and the canvas shows some surface marks normal wear as expected for a piece this age. The inside is cloth lined and has several stains but no rips or tears. Key is missing and no luggage tag.Glass top is included. I have a picture with vintage stickers under the glass to show one way you can display this beautiful vintage piece. This is Muriel McCormick Hubbard- A Rockefeller Heir original vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk in as found estate condition. I believe this one is a little earlier than my other one listed judging by the serial number 42048. It is a fine trunk that includes the interior tray and the center belt. It has all authentic parts and is a very well traveled piece with all the old hanging tags. This trunk is monogrammed M Mc C. On one side. 23 high 21 1/2 deep 39 1/2 long. Muriel McCormick was of the McCormick- Deering family as well as a Rockefeller Heir. VINTAGE STEAMER TRAVEL WARDROBE TRUNK CHEST WITH KEY HANGERS DRAWERS - NICE
Up for bid is this awesome vintage steamer trunk. This amazing wardrobe-style chest normally stands upright on rollers and is pulled by a single handle on the top. The trunk is intended to travel on its wheels. But it also sits nicely on its side if desired. Once opened. The trunk reveals four drawers of varying sizes on one side. On the other side, a drape hangs over a small closet. A covered small suitcase box holds wooden hangers to be used in the closet- it fits into place to make a storage space at the bottom of the closet area. The top of the closet opens up. See pics. The interior of the trunk is all nicely lined. Including the drawers. The interior hardware and hangers are intact. There is a lock on the top drawer, I do not see a key for it, although the exterior lock on the trunk comes with its key. Based on the information on the ... moreexterior lock hardware. It was made by the Eagle Lock Company, Terryville, Conn USA, no. 56K12. I could find no other manufacturer identifiers on the trunk. The leather handle on the trunk is stamped with the number 16. There is a capital letter“E” carefully painted on the top of the trunk as well. The trunk stands about 40.5 x inches tall. And approximately 21.5 inches in both of the other dimensions. The chest is black with what I would presume to be brass hardware on the exterior. The trunk is in very nice shape. The trunk is available for pickup only in Birmingham. These vintage faux tweed and real leather on wood brown and blue suitcases are in great shape from the 1950's and 1960’s! The largest leather overnight measures roughly 22L" x 7.5W" x 14H” The train/make-up case measures close to 14L" x 8W" x 8.5H" You can see from the pics the color of the exterior and interiors as well as the various pouches. Compartments and straps. The train case has a couple edges missing from the latch. These cases could be used for a number of things besides luggage. A very popular use is for camera equipment or speciality tools. By installing foam packaging and cutting it to fit your camera or tools is a stylish and less expensive way to protect and transport. These type of cases can also be used for decor such as end tables. Shipping includes insurance and a delivery confirmation. Delivery ... moreconfirmation is not a tracking number. Rare Collectable Vintage Antique Valcan Travel Case Trunk Leather Suitcase Strap
Really Super old suitcase leather I've placed this under the victorian age but please note that I'm no expert and could be wrong it's very old and truly wonderful Would make a great room feature prop. Shop or storage on top of the wardrobe or under the bed perhaps a wedding or a pet bed! The handle is just hanging on. On one side(right side when looking in the pic) and could do with some leather glue to glue it back on this could easily be done, to the eye looks fine. The latches to close work perfectly No key but you can open and close shut The strap inside that holds the case up one end is fine the other has a fabric staple holding it which is not original but again could easily be sorted just wanted to point everything out so you know what your getting Please study the pictures as what you see is what you get.
