Today you can go anywhere in the entire world within 24 hours by plane. Just think way back when before commercial airlines. People traveled primarily by railroad or by ship. Traveling was long, hard, and exhausting. People would literally live out of these trunks as they traveled for weeks and sometimes months on end. Thus. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. On the interior right side. The trunk has 5 wood drawers with original deco drawer pulls and covered in swanky antique fabric. Set of 6 wooden hangers from an antique wardrobe trunk from the early 1900's. They are in need of some TLC. But will be great for anyone restoring an old trunk! The first picture shows the whole lot. The others include close ups of the wood hangers. Showing their condition. They all measure around 18" wide& 8" top to bottom. Some of them have a little damage on each side as shown it the photos. Here we go there is so much to say about this vintage Wheary Cushion Top Wardrobe which is fully fitted with key and in amazing condition for its age. The trunk is a dark green with beautiful hardware. I have included lots of photos so you can fully appreciate. It stands approx. 42" tall and 22" wide and 10" deep on each side. It has 5 drawers(1) 4" cushioned with side pockets. 3) 7" lined in Wheary fabric with ties and a large bottom drawer line in Wheary fabric that is 12" The fabric color is a light pink in the classic Wheary design with W's. The wardrobe side is lined in fabric with a fabric curtain that snaps back and has the original hangers and pant hangers. There is also a secret compartment on the bottom of the wardrobe. The fabric while aged is all there in all parts of the interior with no tears. ... moreRather than traditional handles the drawers have stylized clear"lucite" pulls. Vintage Black Suitcase Shoe Travel Trunk from 30's or 40's Wonderful vintage suitcase that is divided with 8 compartments to carry your shoes. The suitcase is vintage I think from the 1930's or 40's possibly earlier The outside is a textured black covering over a wood frame with a navy blue Moire lining. There is one long hinge across the backside Not sure who made the suitcase. The locks are marked British Make and there is an oval with a feather mark The suitcase measures 25-1/2" wide by 12-1/2" by 7-3/4" deep. The suitcase is in good condition with some nicks. Marks and bumps on the outside, chips on the outside corners. The handle has missing leather. NO KEYs for the suitcase This is an old case that does have an old smell on the inside. WW 2 Navy trunk named! Shanghai China Dragon folk art vintage suitcase
Very cool vintage suitcase from the WW 2 period. Has a beautiful dragon and the sailor's name painted on the front of the case. I did find a James J. Tamulonis on ancestry. Had him on muster rolls for the USS Hansford from Nov. 1944-April 1946. Can't guarantee it is the same man though. Leather with brass. Measures 24 x 12 x 7" Has a wooden frame inside of case. Is very worn. But still holding together. The frame is not straight, and the ticking inside is coming loose. Condition is ok for its age, hard to find one much cooler than this.

This is one BIG Vintage Trunk! It was made by Besbilt Trunk Company In Newark. N.J. USA Trunk No. 83117 It has a plate so if it were ever found you could contact the company and they would get in touch with whomever purchased/lost it. It measures 26" high x 40-1/2" wide x 24" deep. This trunk could be restored or used"as is" with all its character! Would be a great wide screen TV stand. End table or just hanging around for extra storage. I would say someone has added some paint to the outside. But it is rather industrial looking. The leather handles on both ends are missing. Hardware is in good condition. Corners are awesome! Sorry. No key. Hinges are nice and tight. Latches on the front work great. Inside has the usual wear and tear. But a lot of the fabric is intact. The bracket for the lid is not connected in the ... moremiddle any more. But that may be an easy fix. Inside tray is missing. There is a place on the lid where it looks like a bottle of paint dripped and a place on the front where there is a small split in the outer covering. Bottom is in surprisingly good condition. Deep royal blue with a striking yellow stripe and black leather accents. The interior is a pale green with white accents, a very stunning pattern by itself. Includes 5 drawers, 2 types of wooden hangers which are on an extendable rod, and a travel case. The top of the wardrobe opens for ease of access. The side says"Kenworthy, Glenside, PA. It measures 42" length x 22" width x 23" height. It weighs approximately 85lbs. It opens as you see in the pictures and when fully open measures 45" across. As far as condition issues. I have photographed what I have seen. Two of the rollerballs on the bottom have pushed through but still work and do not affect its ... moreability to stand upright. There is also another tear on the bottom(see picture) The bottom drawers metal accent has come loose, but could be fixed. There are a few tears on the bottom drawer and some age stains throughout the trunk(see pictures) There is no key for the lock however it does close, but must be reopened with a screwdriver. The wood sanded and honey stained, then 6 coats of satin polyurethane applied. Oak lath strips painted in a mahogany stain to stand out from the pine. Great patina to wood. New leather all around including arch straps w/buckles and new handles. Brass name plate added to front of arch with forged copper spike nails. Give it a distinct and personal touch. Antique Vintage wood blanket chest trunk from 1800s
This beautiful solid pine trunk is from the late 1800's. It has the original hardware. Due to its age and material it has a little of the lower molding missing on one side(see photo 2) This is part of its charm. There are two small drawers inside the trunk. I found a nail. As pictured, in the drawer and similar ones in the chest itself showing its age. There is a crack that runs across P art the top of the trunk but doesn't affect its use. Lid closes and o pens. It is sturdy enough to be carried by the handles and a solid piece. No water damage. It would be a great coffee table or blanket chest. The patina is nice and its a beautiful piece from the past. Here is a true barn find. Right from a new england farm, super neat design on the front. Chest appears to have original hinges and side handles. There is paper/ travel stamps with early 1900 dates on them. I'm guessing its at least from early 1900s but possibly earlier, has metal overlay on top and on the corners with unique art design on the front. Inside is wood with paper lining. Chest is apprx. 24" long 18" wide and 16" high. A very unique chest, a good size, not too big, make a great accent piece.

There is some wear on the brass fittings(minor though) It is in great condition! It has 3 leather handles and an Eagle lock from the Eagle Lock Co. a piece of this lock was removed though) It weighs 26 lbs. so it will be local pick-up only unless you make arrangements with us. All hinges are sturdy and the inside looks like it is lined in shelf paper. Next, we have the hand puppet, Dopey, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He is dirty but intact.
