Metal pin to bottom of trunk that allows the lid to open. Revealing a cute rosy-cheeked boy with a valentine. Printed in Germany. No illustrator's mark, but looks to be a Charles Twelvetrees. Neat card. FROM SCRAPBOOK: Yes. With scrapbook paper residue to back. Except for being stuck in a scrapbook, this is an unused card. SIGNED: No. ADDITIONAL CONDITION INFO: General age toning. TO SOAK OR NOT TO SOAK-THE SCRAPBOOK DILEMMA: Many of my valentines are rescued from old. Beat-up scrapbooks and while the fronts are in good condition, the backs often look horrible with chunks of scrapbook paper, dried glue and some areas of lifting of top paper layer(when card does not separate easily from the scrapbook page) I am not a fan of the soaking procedure: it's time-consuming and it's a very tricky business. Even if the soak is successful, often the cards never quite look the same: not as sharp and crisp, may show dye runs, ripple, etc. and they take forever to dry completely. Vintage cards and water are a bad mix. When it comes to choosing between a card that shows evidence of having come from a scrapbook and one showing that it has been drowned, I choose the former. For your consideration is a cute vintage die-cut 1927 little boy looking out of a green steamer trunk Valentine Card. Not marked. But very reminiscent of Charles Twelvetrees, you'll have to be the judge. Card is approx. 4-7/8" high x approx. 3/1/4" wide. There is writing to the back with foxing and general age yellowing. There is a crease along the right side of card from edge of red heat to the"t" in the word Valentine which you can see in my photos. Front of card is marked"Printed in Germany. Would make a nice addition to any vintage Valentine collection. Please look closely at the photographs as they are part of my description. OOAK Vintage Wood Steamer Trunk Chest - Hand Crafted - Florida Bound Sticker
What a great find! I believe this little steamer trunk is from Mini Land as I have seen one or two listed on e-bay before in the past. But IMHO, none of them looked quite as authentic or well-made as this! I have a similar trunk.full-size.that's been in our family for years and this looks exactly like it! I believe this trunk is from the 1970's or so.if anyone can enlighten me. I would appreciate it! It is crafted of wood and has been painted to mimic an aged piece. I do think the owner of the trunk customized it as this does not look like the typical trunk that was manufactured by Mini Land from what I can tell. I believe the fancy'hardware' on trunk is made of heavy metal foil.like the corner stickers you would use to put a picture into a scrap book. The handles and lock are made of heavy black felt or wool, I'm not ... morequite sure which and they are glued down and decorated with metallic beads to mimic the screws and bolts that would have been used in the real thing. There is a sticker on the outside of the trunk that appears to be the traveling papers from Florida Southern Railway. The interior is wallpapered in a cream and dusty blue pineapple striped pattern. There is a very old picture of two little girls smiling and eating over what looks like an old advertisement for cookies or crackers. The ad says"Compliments of" over the girl's heads.and"Henry Heide" below the can. The insert does come out of the trunk and there are two brackets inside to prevent the insert from going all the way to the bottom.just like a real steamer trunk! There is a slight curve to the lid of the trunk. But it does not completely close nor does it stand straight up when opened. It does stay open, but leans back a bit, as shown in the photos. It appears the lid was attached with some kind of heavy-duty cloth tape that has been painted over to match the wood. Maybe the paint dried and shrunk a bit, and now the lid won't close tight, I'm not sure, but it definitely doesn't take away f

Hello and welcome to my auction! Up for bid today is a vintage(possibly antique) brown leather drawstring jewelry purse in excellent condition without any damage that I can find. I was pleased to obtain it at a recent estate sale for a reasonable price and was“educated” at that time by a collector of vintage and antique clothing and accessories. I was told these bags were used by women between approximately 1910– 1935 who traveled during the age when steamer trunks were their form of today's luggage. The stiff. Round bottomed design with the flexible leather top was ideal for safely storing their jewelry in a small nitch in a steamer trunk. It layed flat without the danger of toppling over and spilling its contents and the drawstring was an added safeguard. Our collector friend checked this piece out thoroughly and was genuinely impressed ... morewith its condition. The leather is soft and supple without any flaking or tears. The stitching is tight and the green floral fabric interior is intact without any tears or holes. This piece measures approximately 6 1/2" in diameter when measuring the bottom and 5 ½” from top to bottom when the leather is extended to its full height. I’ve taken care to include closeups for your review and to best illustrate my description. ANTIQUE VINTAGE HARTMANN Padded Top1920's STEAMER TRUNK LUGGAGE TUERKE BAGGAGEST
Offered for sale is this great old large antique Steamer Trunk by Hartmann Trunk Co. Racine. WI. It has a brass plaque on top indicating Tuerke Baggage Co Baltimore, Md. I would guess that Tuerke was the distributor. It also has the monogrammed initials"PJB" This trunk, a relic of a bygone era of steamship travel, is approx. 40" high X 22" X 22" It comes with original wooden hangers and five drawers. The leather carrying strap is broken and there is no key. Please view all of the pictures as they are part of the description. What you see is what you get. It has expected scrapes commensurate with age but it is very sound overall. This would make a great display piece or a really cool coffee table. Local pick up only. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STEAMER TRUNK VINTAGE ORIGINAL LINEN CHEST 1890s AMERICA
24" deep by 30" high by 40" wide. Rugged. Functional, key hasp not original(but includes key) Has casters. No inner tray as many of these trunks had. Restored at some point, has what seems to be a polymer-based paint on the outside as well as several patches which might be wood putty or bondo. Markings suggest it was a road case for the Della Buckley theater company. I'm including a picture of Della Buckley I found in the NYC Library performing arts archive as an additional clue to its provenance and age. It's pretty big and heavy, so I'm only offering it for local pickup in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area.

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This listing is for a lot of six(6) vintage coat/clothing hangers. Two are wooden. One is metal and wood, and the rest are metal. One of the metal ones is covered in fabric and one is wrapped with crochet/nylon loops. The nylon-wrapped one I think is from 1970’s and the rest are of unknown age. But some could be quite old because they all came from different locations(they are from estate sales) The two wooden ones and the cloth-wrapped metal one all have the ability to fold down the hook part. Which I think means they came from steamer wardrobe trunks. The wooden ones are the longest and measure 17” long. The one with the stitched-on fabric has stitches that are coming out and t he one wrapped in cloth has some holes in the fabric(see photos)

Doll Steamer Trunk- Vintage 14" tall Opened it is about 15 5/8" across. The closet portion is about 3" deep and has two wood hangers. The drawers each have a leather pull and are 7" across and 3 7/8" deep. Outside and top have different travel stickers attached. This particular case does not have a lock only the two hinged clasps. I do not see a manufacturer or distributor name though the hinged clasp looks like it may have an initial within a sunburst mark. Could just be a design and not mean anything.I don't know. This unusual flat top steamer trunk opens into a 3-drawer desk or bureau with an additional storage area at the top which is secured by three leather straps and snaps. It is 34" wide. 21-1/2" deep and 25" high. Hardware is somewhat ornate. One of the outer leather handles is missing and the other is broken.

The trunk is in great condition with beautiful patina on all the brass decorations. The inside is lines with its original floral lining and has its original tray. 1900-1950 Black Vintage Hartmann Steamer Chest/Trunk made in America
This is an antique/vintage Hartmann steamer chest/trunk dated from sometime between 1900 and 1920. It is made by the Hartmann Trunk Company out of Racine. Wisconsin. There is a stamp with that information on it on the front of the trunk. It looks like it has travelled to San Francisco and Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado as there are a couple of stickers on the top from those places. It is in very good condition with scratches and marks on the exterior consistent with travel and having been put on and off trains. The interior is in excellent condition with no tears or stains in the fabric. It is very heavy, around 85-100 lbs and approximately 40 inches tall, 22inches wide and 21 inches deep. It contains 4 drawers. A small suitcase, an ironing board, and 10 hangers. There is no key for the lock. It smells old. But does not smell ... moreof mothballs or musty. It has been in Colorado for the last 20 years that I know of, so it has been in a dry climate and a non-smoking home. It really is a nice piece and would be good for decorating a corner of a room, used as a coffee table, or dorm room or any small room storage. Thank you for your time.

THIS IS MY VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK FOR SALE Let me tell you about it. Its HUGE! 3 feet 5 inches tall. And 2 foot square. Made by"EVERWARE" Trunks. Newark NJ. And made With"Guaranteed Hard Vulcanized Fibre" Its is a dark green. The pulls in side are steel the locks and hardware on the out side are brass, the brass is alittle rusted and very tarnished. There are some traveling stickers on it but are all modern. I do have a Key for the large outside lock. And the not pictured bar lock that keep the drawers from falling out. I did add some small plastic ledges under the drawers, to make them able to pull out. One of the 15 hangers are original the rest are reproductions. The bars the cloths hangers hang out pulls out, this extends the bars to a full foot, and the top flips open. The Other side of the trunk has 4 drawers. First ... moreon top is 10" X 4" has a 1/3 divider. The Second Drawer. Is 9 inches deep 10 inches from front to back The 3rd Drawer. Is is 9 inches deep 10 inches front to back The 4th Drawer is 15 inches deep and 10 inches front to back has 1/3 divider. Again the condition is not great but at this point its 100 years old smells alittle musty rusty around the edges. But this is a one of a kind trunk. i used it for many years and kept everything i ever needed inside it, as i dragged this 150 + pound thing across the USA, you should do the same. Up for auction is a vintage National Vulcanized Fibre Co. Black Trunk/ Chest with a working key/lock. There is a removable two compartment tray. One of the supports for this tray is intact but damaged. In overall good shape. There are scuffs, it is musty, the leather is old and crumbly, the brass needs a a good polish but in my opinion, it is cool. The pictures speak for themselves.
