The elderly gentleman that I purchased these from tagged these as trunk clothes hangers. My original purpose was to use these in restoring an old trunk. But I've abandoned the project. I've toyed with the idea of repurposing these to picture hangers, or scarf or jewelry holders too. The hangers are in excellent condition with just a few spots of oxidation. This vintage trunk has been in storage for quite a few years. It's still functional with the lid still opening and closing. I'm not sure if the lock works. I don't have a key for it and didn't want to have it lock on me. The lock is made by eagle lock company of CT. The leather straps are not all there due to its age but the fasteners still work. I'm not sure of its age. The lining is paper and is peeling. This is for local pickup only. It measures 2 1/2 feet long 21 1/2 half inches high 18 1/2 inches front to back. Thank you for looking!

Item 19836 is a vintage antique wooden hump back steamer trunk. It measures 30"x 15" x 16.5" It is in very good shape. The outside is all original. It still has the original wooden handles. The wood has some knots in it. But they do not take away from the character of the trunk.The inside has been lined with a mint green& red floral pattern. Item 20006 is a vintage antique woodden hump back steamer trunk. It measures 30" x 17.5" x 20.5" It is in very good shape. It has new leather handles. The lock was changed at some time prior to us buying it. There is a place on the front center bottom that has a damage spot shown in picture 2. Also there is an indented place on the top shown in picture 7. They do not take away from the character of the trunk.The inside has been lined with a green floral pattern. Vintage Antique Steamer Trunk Chest with False Bottom & Secret Drawer
Up for bid is this antique Steamer Trunk. It has a false bottom& a secret drawer. The secret drawer opens by turning a screw that releases a latch. I'll let you figure out which screw to turn. The interior is cedar& it has a removable tray. The latch has come loose& it says on it Eagle Lock Company Terryville. Conn. There was a couple pieces in it but I don't think they go to the trunk. I will include them in the auction. The latch looks like it was glued on. The trunk has a removable tray which is made of cedar as is the interior& the secret drawer. The exterior is steel or tin or sheet steel or what ever you want to call it. It's magnetic, with wood accents. The raised strips areas riveted on the trunk on the exterior are wood with the rest being metal. The secret drawer opens& closes smoothly. I guess people ... moreback in the day had problems with their relatives stealing stuff too or were into smuggling. It is spring loaded so when you turn the latch the drawer pops out. Some idiot has painted the trunk white. It should be fairly easy to strip off. It looks like it is already peeling off& shouldn't be too much trouble to get off. The red interior has one are that has a spot in it as seen in the picture& a small damaged area where the lock goes as seen in the picture. The trunk is heavy weighing approximately 39 pounds. The trunk measures approximately 24" tall by 14.25" front to back& 18" to the top most part of the curved top lid. This trunk will look cool restored sitting by the foot of the bed& with the cedar wood it will keep all the bed bugs out of what ever you like to store in it. You know this will be a cool restoration project for you during the long winter months. In the last picture I show the latch& the 3 extra pieces I found in the trunk. The 3 extra pieces are no cedar& I don't believe go to the trunk. I am including them because they came with the trunk. I do not have the key for the latch. I think who ever painted it whit

Antique Old Vintage Kamlee Wood Brass Auto Car Trunk Chest 30" Nice old Kamlee Milwaukee automobile trunk with lots of brass hardware. The trunk is in nice condition for its age. There is wear and age to the outer shell. The old black leather finish could benefit from some good black paste shoe polish? And there are some deeper gouges on the backside of the trunk as shown. The brass lock does not have a key. It is turned into a position so it can not close. Both the brass lock and the latches are marked Eagle Lock Co. The inside is canvas lined and as you can see in the photo's there are lots of stains and wear. No offensive odors. The thick layered leather handles are separating, as shown. ANTIQUE STEAMER TRUNK VINTAGE VICTORIAN HIGH DOME TOP CHILD'S TRUNK
During the mid to late 1800's trunks were being made with a dome shape top. This was due to passengers not wanting their trunks being put at the bottom of the stack when traveling. Medium size trunk may have been used for a child. The wood all appears solid and it looks all be pine. Exterior is wrapped in metal with wooden strips and mesh like fabric. The bottom of the trunk has wooden strips with metal casters for rolling. The trunk measures 26 inches long X 18 inches high X a depth of 15 inches. There are round decorative pieces of some type of metal decorating the top and front. The pattern of the canvas is called Mesh and Square. The interior of the trunk is thin pin with light brown paper covering it. Trunks made toward the end of the 1800's used more decorative paper inside. There is an old lithograph picture of a young girl ... moreon the interior side of the dome top. There is a tray that has a compartment that can be removed. It has a lid and a lithograph paper design on it. I believe the wood to be pine and I am not sure what material any of the hardware is. The lock will need a skeleton key which I do not have. Ornate hand-carved antique chest/trunk. Vintage Chinese/ Asia *NO RESERVE*
Here is what I know of my Grandpa's trunk. He got it overseas in World War II. My Mom said it's from China. She said it's cedar wood. I do not know for sure it is cedar? I don't know the exact year it was made but it was made before 1942. It needs a dusting(as you can see) and has been kept in climate controlled storage for many years now. It is beautifully hand-carved on all four sides and on top. Dark brown in color. I really don't know much about it but it is quite nice. looks like the carvings tell a story- I can try to send more pictures or if you have questions call or e-mail. Size is 16x 16x 36. Vintage Antique Tin Clad Humpback Steamer Trunk Floral Pattern
You're bidding on a lovely antique tin clad humpback steamer trunk that measures 32x19x18" and is about 20" at the top of the hump. It has the original stamped floral pattern tin on the outside and a removable tray on the inside with an extra divider slat- we've looked and looked but can't figure out where that goes. If you look closely at the top you can see the original blue and gold coloring of the tin that contrasts with the red on the sides and back. It is missing the lower half of the left latch on the front(see pictures) The interior is in decent condition. No sign/smell of mold or mildew despite the stains on the tray- it is as dry as a bone. This Vintage Carved Asian Trunk measures 27 inches long. 13 inches across and is 14 1/2 inches tall. It has carved Dragons on all sides of it. Antique Vintage Steamer Travel Trunk With Rollers on each bottom corner and a Dome Top The trunk is 16.5 inches tall. 14 inches wide, 13 inches deep, 26 inches long and weighs an estimated 30 to 40 pounds. One leather end handle is missing. And one of the hinges is broken. The travel trunk was used during the 1800s and judging by the design and fittings. It must have been a fine, high quality trunk. Great trunk and after some touch up and paint this beautiful antique will make any new owner very proud!

Rare Vintage Antique Humpback Steamer Dome Top Trunk lined with Copper
I have up for sale a unique and wonderful vintage Copper Covered Humpback Steamer Trunk- yes you are reading this right- copper covered. First time in nearly 30 years of dealing that I have seen a humpback made with copper. It comes from the estate of an elder pair of local collector's. They had a small private museum and this was one of the items in the museum. The trunk weighs approx 33 lbs as you see it. Measures approx 26" long x 19" tall, and 15" deep. It has wood slates, a copper covered body, and brass plated latches and brass plated handles on the sides. I estimate the age to be from the early 1900s to 1940s. The trunk is in very good overall condition! The copper has some age and use wear. Looks as though it was polished way back when and has now darkened and tarnished over. The interior looks as though it was ... moreredone somewhere down the line. This is a good solid piece, not too big not too small, nice and sturdy, very unusual with the copper covering. I will package with great care and ship fully insured. Always keep all boxes and all packaging materials in the rare event you have to issue an insurance claim. If you do not keep the materials. A very large wardrobe trunk made over 100 years ago by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely well made and in virtually perfect condition. It is fitted with a fully equipped interior and oak slats and ball castors on the exterior. This fine heavy trunk is complete and fully functional. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. It comes with the original key. How great if a family member saw this ad& brought it home! This old Wardrobe Trunk(also known as" Traveling Wardrobe" is a LAUB'S LUGGAGE Baggage Builders brand. Manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky. Its heavy& well made, in very good condition inside& outside, with obvious age related scars, but no major flaws. Experts state these style trunks have seen ... morea popularity surge in the past few years. The materials used are various metals, leather, wood, fabric& I'm not sure if there's anything else. While it was originally designed to stand on end for easy access. It can be used flat for a coffee table or upright to store items in the four drawers of various sizes. It also still has the original wooden clothing hangers on the left side(in excellent condition) on an extending rod which appears to be chrome over steel& it even has the extra cover that snaps over the lower section for shoes&or valuables. One of the hangers looks like a boat anchor& is sometimes referred to as a"Princess" hanger. But both men& women used these because their purpose was to keep something like a jacket in place during transit, as to prevent wrinkles. Because these trunks look awesome opened. vintage/antique Art Deco waterfall walnut cedar-lined HOPE/blanket CHEST/trunk Greater Chicagoland-area local pick up/delivery only(Saint Charles. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) UP FOR AUCTION: A gorgeous. Vintage, Art Deco, walnut waterfall-style cedar-lined blanket or hope chest. Elegant contrasting veneer inlay work on front center. It's unmarked as to maker. I think it's likely circa early to mid-1900s. I believe it's in original condition. It has one interior. Multi-sectioned drawer on hinges(in need of minor repair-see below) It's constructed of walnut veneer with cedar lining, and secondary hardwood(s) The back is unfinished. Wonderful for storage and display or seating, it's both beautiful and superbly useful. CONDITION: Overall. I think it's in nice vintage condition. Solid and sturdy. Only the tiniest bit ... moreof veneer loss that I can see: a few tiny chips along the back edge. Minor nicks, imperfections normal to vintage furniture. It does have some flaws: 1) the top surface has superficial scratches and age-related splits in the veneer(but they seem shallow enough to me that I think just polyurethane(were the top refinished) and/or a walnut-tone pore filler would be enough to fill them for a flawless(or nearly so) top. 2) In the interior. Lid, left side, the wood affixing the screw supporting the pull-out shelf is stripped(please see photos; the drawer is just propped in place in the photo) so is in need of this repair. I'd probably suggest filling the oversized hole with wood scraps and glue to fill, then redrilling the hole(possibly a larger screw would work) this is left to the buyer. 3) The locks on these old chests pose a safety hazard to children(won't open from within; children can suffocate inside) and can't be sold with the lock in place. I've removed and discarded it. Leaving just the hardware(for aesthetics) so it simply opens and closes, and can be opened from inside. ANTIQUE PAINTED WOODEN CHEST TRUNK VINTAGE ORIENT THEME GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT
This trunk belonged to an aunt of mine who passed away in 1988 at the age of 102 years old. She at the time told of this trunk being in the family when she was a child. This would date this trunk back to the late 1800's at a minimum. Now over the years someone put a hasp on the thing in order to keep it secure(locked) One of the clips that hold the thing shut has the metal clamp or"hook" part missing. I have been told by antique dealers that it is not too hard to find one. The flowers. And birds that are put on it(some form of inlay or type of paint) are quite pretty. The weight of the truck empty is approx 19 pounds. The length is 32 inches. The height is at about 12+ inches, and the width is approx 16 inches. 32 x 16 x 12) It has dust on it and I have since wiped it off. The trunk most likely could be stripped and redone(that ... moreis what the local antique dealer has told me) I was hesitant about selling this at first and then I decided I am getting much older and should sell it so that someone that is able and willing to maybe clean up or restore it can enjoy it. I am disabled now and unable to do much with it or I would. I did take it to the antique dealer here in town and he has about 60,000 SF of commercial floor space and he would try to sell it for me on consignment. He recommended we start the sale off at $500.00, however I am going to start the auction off much lower in order to allow some of you that are like me(don't have a lot of money) to be able to win this auction. Antique Old Vintage Wooden Steamer Trunk Traveling Storage Chest Leather Rivets!
Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm selling my antique steamer trunk because of the fact that we're downsizing our living situation. Otherwise, I would certainly hang on to it- it is really a nice piece. I acquired this at a local antique store about ten years ago and have kept it on display ever since. It is made mostly of wood. With some metal rivets and leather straps. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but it is definitely of significant age. It measures approximately 34" long by 21" wide by 24" tall. The trunk is obviously old. So it isn't in perfect condition. One of the metal buckles has come loose from one of the leather straps, for instance. This is the real deal folks! This lock is heavy brass. The pictures don't do justice. But it has a nice swirled brass finish that has the original patina.
