It looks like there was some water damage. The leather handle may be broke. It has#867. It measures 28" long, 27 1/2" tall and 20 1/2" wide. The drawers are 6 1/4" deep, 26" long, and 18" wide. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age ... moreof the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the pictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. Up for bid is a another antique or vintage. Flat Key! I don't know what it would unlock. Maybe it could be used to unlock a padlock. Door, cabinet or trunk. I'm no expert. Here is a nice medium-sized trunk from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. A very well made dome/ hump top trunk or stage coach chest. We sometimes see these refered to as steamer trunks also. It is made of wood. Trimmed or covered with ornate embossed tin with a great geometric pattern to it. It measures 34" inches wide x 21 1/2" inches deep[front to back] and 24" inches tall– a perfect complement to any rustic decor whether modern or antique. The trunk is constructed of a box with hardwood slats across the top for protection during shipping on all four sides and top. It has been restored with thick stitched brown leather handles which are identical to the originals and a new lid stay to hold it open– otherwise the trunk and all of its hardware are in their original. A small vintage travel or storage trunk measuring about 16" tall. 14" wide, and 13" deep. It has a removable wooden tray on the top on the inside, and the inside is lined with fabric. It is in good condition overall, though there are some scratches and dings to the finish, particularly a scratch on top near the handle. The latch has a hinge underneath which you have to push in to close it(so that one does not close it and lock it inadvertently) Some wooden slats have been added to the bottom, perhaps to protect it from wet surfaces. Hello and welcome to my auction! Up for bid today is a vintage(possibly antique) brown leather drawstring jewelry purse in excellent condition without any damage that I can find. I was pleased to obtain it at a recent estate sale for a reasonable price and was“educated” at that time by a collector of vintage and antique clothing and accessories. I was told these bags were used by women between approximately 1910– 1935 who traveled during the age when steamer trunks were their form of today's luggage. The stiff. Round bottomed design with the flexible leather top was ideal for safely storing their jewelry in a small nitch in a steamer trunk. It layed flat without the danger of toppling over and spilling its contents and the drawstring was an added safeguard. Our collector friend checked this piece out thoroughly and was genuinely impressed ... morewith its condition. The leather is soft and supple without any flaking or tears. The stitching is tight and the green floral fabric interior is intact without any tears or holes. This piece measures approximately 6 1/2" in diameter when measuring the bottom and 5 ½” from top to bottom when the leather is extended to its full height. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STEAMER TRUNK VINTAGE ORIGINAL LINEN CHEST 1890s AMERICA
24" deep by 30" high by 40" wide. Rugged. Functional, key hasp not original(but includes key) Has casters. No inner tray as many of these trunks had. Restored at some point, has what seems to be a polymer-based paint on the outside as well as several patches which might be wood putty or bondo. Markings suggest it was a road case for the Della Buckley theater company. I'm including a picture of Della Buckley I found in the NYC Library performing arts archive as an additional clue to its provenance and age. It's pretty big and heavy, so I'm only offering it for local pickup in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area.

Antique Round Wooden Stagecoach Trunk Brass Gold Rush Era Travel Chest Vintage
For consideration is an antique wood trunk in good condition. The trunk is embellished with square shank brass studs and is lined with a Boston paper(Gleason's Pictorial Drawing Room Companion) that is dated 1851. The former owner(an elderly woman in Southern NH) said that it was in her family as long as she could remember. Though she couldn't give additional concrete details. Her grandfather had gone to California during the gold rush, but she couldn't be sure this trunk belonged to him. On top of the trunk are the initials"B.B. Their last name starts with a"B" but her grandfather's first name didn't start with"B. She kept it in back of her rocking chair. Which is why there are scratches on the right side of the trunk. There are some holes that appear to have had brass tacks in them at some point, ... morebut they don't line up with the tacks that are currently there. It looks like someone may have taken the original tacks off and put these on. I'm wondering if there was an early refinishing of the trunk which may have required the tacks to be removed and then replaced. You'll notice that there are missing tacks on the front near the latch and one missing on top of the trunk. There are very old pads on the bottom of the trunk. Most of the hardware appears original. One of the hinges on the back is still attached entirely with old rose head nails. There are several newer(but still old) screws that have been used in repairing or reinforcing the trunk and its hardware. The wrought iron handles are period. The trunk has a nice honey color. The interior is heavily soiled and I didn't attempt to clean it as I wanted to preserve the paper lining. It's approximately 24" wide by 12" in diameter. Antique Vintage Childs Doll Wooden Dome Top Trunk. Well Made and Sturdy.
This auction is for a fascinating antique vintage childs wooden doll dome top trunk. I believe it dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The trunk is well made and sturdy. It appears to have its original mouldings and hardware. The mouldings are similar to those on other furniture of the era. Bits and pieces of the original leather handles and hinges are still present. They need to be replaced in order to make it fully functional again. The dome is created by five separate pieces of wood that fit together in a tongue in groove configuration and are then nailed to the tops of both sides. Although the trunk is structurally sound. It shows obvious signs of wear and use. It appears that, at some point in its long life, parts of it were lightly sanded. There is no longer a key for the lock. TURN OF THE CENTURY EARLY AMERICAN SUPER PRIMITIVE BLANKET CHEST~HANDMADE~DARK BLACK/BROWN WOOD Up for sale is an extremely primitive early blanket chest that would also make a wonderful window seat. The color of it is a dark blackish/brown and it is long and measures 51 inches X 17 inches in height X about 20 inches across the top(width) It has an old Bull Lock and has a 2 board piece bottom that is indicative of 1800's chest along with irregular nails. One of the side pieces is missing on the righthand side but this does add to the primitive look of the piece. It will have to be picked up at my Martins Ferry. Ohio home or you may arrange for freight and I can bubble wrap the piece for you but you must locate a freighter to pick up the piece of your choice.

This would have gone inside an LV monogram era steamer trunk or large luggage case. It is a cloth covered wooden frame with 2 lift handles and 2 tie down straps each with heavy brass buckle marked: Louis Vuitton Brevete" and on reverse"Paris. Great way to complete a steamer trunk or case. Mesures: Height- 3 1/2" Width- 26 3/4" Depth- 16" In excellent vintage condition. Shows some light soiling marks. See Photos. Made by the Larkin co. of Buffalo NY. This unusual flat top steamer trunk opens into a 3-drawer desk or bureau with an additional storage area at the top which is secured by three leather straps and snaps. It is 34" wide. 21-1/2" deep and 25" high. Hardware is somewhat ornate. One of the outer leather handles is missing and the other is broken.

Antique Vintage Steamer Wardrobe Trunk THE ULTIMATE STEAMPUNK Trunk
THIS IS MY VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK FOR SALE Let me tell you about it. Its HUGE! 3 feet 5 inches tall. And 2 foot square. Made by"EVERWARE" Trunks. Newark NJ. And made With"Guaranteed Hard Vulcanized Fibre" Its is a dark green. The pulls in side are steel the locks and hardware on the out side are brass, the brass is alittle rusted and very tarnished. There are some traveling stickers on it but are all modern. I do have a Key for the large outside lock. And the not pictured bar lock that keep the drawers from falling out. I did add some small plastic ledges under the drawers, to make them able to pull out. One of the 15 hangers are original the rest are reproductions. The bars the cloths hangers hang out pulls out, this extends the bars to a full foot, and the top flips open. The Other side of the trunk has 4 drawers. First ... moreon top is 10" X 4" has a 1/3 divider. The Second Drawer. Is 9 inches deep 10 inches from front to back The 3rd Drawer. Is is 9 inches deep 10 inches front to back The 4th Drawer is 15 inches deep and 10 inches front to back has 1/3 divider. Again the condition is not great but at this point its 100 years old smells alittle musty rusty around the edges. But this is a one of a kind trunk. i used it for many years and kept everything i ever needed inside it, as i dragged this 150 + pound thing across the USA, you should do the same.
