You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Here is a unique Muffie's Marvelous Year trunk set available only from Atelier Mandaline. You get a 1950s Type 3 Muffie doll. She's a straight leg walker with molded eyelashes. Painted lashes, and eyebrows. She's all hard plastic with light brown hair. She's in very good condition, with her eyes and walker working. I restrung her arms with durable elastic cord. Muffie is marked on her back. Muffie has a trunk full of outfits to take her through the year! Muffie comes dressed in a Brownie Scout dress. Belt, hat, socks, and shoes. I think these may be Muffie originals but they are not tagged. The shoes have half circles on the soles like the Muffie shoes. She's lovely. With bright blue eyes and long, thick golden blonde braids. Ginny does show her age. She has some discoloration on her arms, very faint reddish marks. Her sleep eyes are stiff and must be manually opened and closed. Ginny is missing a walker piece inside her head. I replaced the piece by stringing her head on with elastic. Ginny's walker will still turn her head, but her head is sideways as it turns. Sometimes her head pops off her walker. It will not come all the way off since I restrung it, but please be aware you sometimes have to push the head ... moreback on and turn it to the front to get it to work on the walker, as shown in my blog. Ginny has a repaired shoulder split and a spot of glue residue next to one ear. Still a great doll for play or display! Ginny wears her tagged Vogue orange print dress and bloomers in the Fall. I'm not sure of the number but the print is the same used for the Jill#3218 dress of 1959. The snap has pulled through so I added a hook and eye closure. Ginny carries a matching brown monogrammed purse. In Winter Ginny adds her vintage brown boucle type Mommy-made swing coat and matching poke hat. This has a little fraying to the cuffs but is well made. Springtime comes and Ginny wears her tagged Vogue gingham sundress and bloomers. This had a spot on the front so I added a bow to the waist. On more formal occasions Ginny adds a tagged Vogue gingham skirt with white organdy overlay. For summer fun Ginny dons her striped sundress with lace apron and trim. This is untagged and could be Mommy-made. On cooler days Ginny can add the matching Mommy-made shorts and jacket. Ginny beats the heat in her vintage straw hat while she eats an ice cream bar. Antique LOT: 1920s Suitcase Shwayder Trunk Mfg. Co & '30s Cornell U Gym Clothes
Antique 1920s Suitcase by Shwayder Trunk Mfg. Co. with Cornell U. Gym Clothes This is an early Cornell University student travel train case or suitcase from the 1920's. This was made by The Shwayder Trunk Co. which later became Samsonite. The size is about 24" l x 8" w x 13" high(closed) There is an old paper university seal on one side that reads"The Cornell University" This leather(or faux leather) case has a pair of outside straps made of a hard rubber. The case has metal protectors at all of the corners. With black coating on them(possibly nickel or nickel plated) This has the last owner's monogram on the top- LMB' in gold. The center lock latch works and reads: Shwayder Trunk Mfg. Co. no key) The outside pair of latches are also marked: Shwayder, Denver, Detroit. The inside is a brown plaid type of ... morematerial, very stiff, on top of a center cardboard divider, with 4 leather straps to hold clothes in place. Problems: 1 inside strap is broken/detached from the case; some wear to the lining(unknown material) a small tear near an outside corner; the outside rubber straps(2) are deteriorating BUT have a heavy woven center core. There is a patent pending number on the hard rubber handle that dates it to 1928. We are not certain if this is LEATHER OR FAUX LEATHER. It is stiff with a textured surface like leather but the stiffness tends to lead us to think it might be what is called leatherette. There are no strong odors. Just some mustiness as this sat unopened for quite some time. Along with the suitcase. Are the clothes that were packed inside. There are a number of pieces of women's gym clothes. The initials on the suitcase match the students name which is marked inside each piece of clothing. In full or as just initials, LMB(Lucile M. Backus) According to a Google search, she graduated in the Class of 1936. CLOTHING INCLUDES(no sizes marked on garments- they seem be in the range of small to medium- kept loose in that time period for young ladies in athletic programs) 1 pc.

Small Antique Steel Trunk, Suitcase, Auto Trunk? Interesting Decorative Item!!!
I've had this steel trunk for years and always thought it had been made to be an auto trunk but now I'm not sure as I found a site on trunks that showed steel trunks with nubs on the top like this one. It said that the nubs were there to protect the top from trunks being stacked on it so who knows? At any rate. It's pretty cool in a rustic, decorative way. Although it has some superficial rust on top, the trunk is still quite functional with all the parts intact and a functioning lock with key. The lock has a really interesting locking system. The lid has a small mirror on the inside. The only thing that is not original is a small nut and bolt that I installed to reattach the hinge as the original bolt and nut was gone when I got it. The trunk measures 21.5" x 12.5" x 9" so it is quite small which is a good thing ... moreif you are considering it for a decorative item. It weighs just under 7 pounds. It was painted this way when I got it so I can't be blamed for the color. If you don't like it you can always repaint it to your own taste. Shipping via UPS depends on the location of the buyer. This is a classic LV piece. Slender enough to use for your personal travel or as an anchor piece for stack of Louis Vuitton hard cases on display in your home. This large case was special ordered and purchased from Louis Vuitton in Paris in the early to mid 1980's and only used a handful of times. It is hand crafted from Paris in the LV monogram canvas and finished with nail heads and LV embossed leather trim. Large 75 x 49 x 18 cm or 29.5" x 19.5" x 6.5" size hard sided trunk for your Louis Vuitton collection. This includes a large luggage tag attached to the handle. The original belt straps are in tact and little brass nails appear to be in excellent. Intact condition. I do not find any of the strap or nails to be pulling at all. The condition of the interior and exterior are very good, especially considering the age. This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years. The leather tag on the trunk bares her name. One cruise ship tag says Norma was traveling on the Empress of France, a famous cruise ship, to Liverpool England. Other tags tell a story of a Nurse traveling the globe. Norma was a native of Los Angeles and was said to have dabbled in silent screen acting before becoming a nurse in her mid 30's. One of her accolades include a part as a background actress in 1909's A Midsummers Night Dream directed by Charles Kent and starring Charlie Chaplin. Norma went on to marry a physician and the case was handed down to her children who sold it to an Antique Dealer about 15 years back. Great Antique HARTMANN suitcase. Trunk, chest. With KEY! Brown with riveted metal trim. This very old suitcase is brown in color with light brown metal trim. The metal trim is riveted all around. The handle is brown leather. And it's hardware brass. Suitcase includes it's original key! All latches still close and lock easily though the right side lock could use a slight adjustment. The chest also has all its original straps and hardware on inside. Trunk measures approx. 25 in. from side to side. 18 in. From front to back and 8 in. tall. Suit case inside is 4 1/4 in. deep. The item weighs just under 12 pounds. The inside of this lovely old trunk is actually pretty clean considering its age. It does have a stain on inside(please see pics) The trunk has obviously been around and has wear and scratches. Along with a slight musky odor ... morefrom being in the barn for years. Holocaust Survivor Ship Exodus 1947 WWII 1940’s Metal Tin Travel Trunk Suitcase
Up for sale is a Vintage Metal/Tin Travel Trunk/Suitcase. I assume that the Suitcase was made in the 1940’s due to more or less similar items. The name of the manufacturer and item’s origin are unknown to me. This Suitcase belonged to a 13 years old Jewish girl teenager by the name Gitta(her maiden name is unknown to me) who was born in Poland. Survived the Holocaust and came to the British Mandatory Palestine aboard the Ship Exodus in 1947 but was forced to leave back to Europe with the rest of the immigrants that were aboard and this according to oral information provided by Gitta herself. On its voyage from France to the British Mandatory Palestine there were 4515 Holocaust Survivors passengers. Among them 1017 teenagers and 655 children. Most of the immigrants were Holocaust survivors who had no legal immigration certificates for Palestine. Following wide media coverage. The British Royal Navy seized the ship and deported all its passengers back to Europe. The ship was formerly the steamer SS President Warfield of the Baltimore Steam Packet Company. From the ship's launch in 1928 until 1942. It carried passengers and freight between Norfolk. Virginia and Baltimore. Maryland in the United States. During World War II. It served both the Royal Navy and the United States Navy; for the latter as USS President Warfield(IX-169) Condition: It is in good condition for its age and history with signs of use some dents and a bit of corrosion.
