Antique 19th C Wood Box Trunk Linen Chest Brass Lionhead Handle Orig lock no key
Up for auction is an antique 19th C small trunk or linen chest recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is found in good used condition but has many surface scratches to all sides as well as having some wood loss. Photo 9. We are not sure if it was for linens, small furs, or what but it seems too large to be a glove box. This measures 11.75 x 23.5, an unusual long and thin table top size. This is 9" tall. This is missing an original nut on the handle. This has brass reinforced corners. A very nice pice in a net size. Best of luck in bidding.

Antique Beautifully Refinished Steamer Trunk Chest w/Straps, Key, and Tray
Beautifully Refinished slight arched Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock and Key. Straps, Buckles, and Interior Tray Here is a really nice. Beautifully refinished slight arched top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900. This steamer truck has a very slight factory arch to the top, which may be noticeable in the close up side view picture. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 inches, from floor to top is 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 inches. This beautiful trunk is made up of pine base wood with ash outer slat boards. The wood is in nice condition and has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. There are some typical older distress marks including some older nicks and dings on the wood along with a few stress cracks. This great trunk has a nice ... moreamount of metal hardware. The metal is not brass and has been brush painted it by hand in black and gold leaf. A nice feature on this trunk is the original lock that does work and has a key. The front latches are also original and in good working condition since the springs are intact. This trunk has a nice pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles running up the front and across the top and part way down the back in the same location where the original ones once were. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. They are sturdy. Going to the interior, there is a very nice wood interior and tray, which has been given two coats of polyurethane. This truck would make great lifetime lasting gifts for loved ones on special occasions. It seems to be quite fashionable these days to own one of these forefathers' refinished trunks. Antique Saratoga Doll Trunk, beautiful wood, fabric lined, with key! Vintage!
A great 16" antique wooden doll trunk. Professionally refinished and relined, ready to use with your dolls and display! Measures 16" by 11" tall by 10" deep. The style is a round top Saratoga trunk type and I have an old catalog advertisement from 1891 showing a similar toy Saratoga trunk. I'll include a copy of that. The wood is in beautiful condition and the original lock works well, key included! It's very hard to find these with a key. The trunk has fancy Victorian style paper trim and a wonderful old Victorian lithograph print in the lid which has been preserved, showing children feeding the chickens. You are looking at an antique trunk strap with locking buckle. It comes with a key. And works fine. The strap width is 1" and the buckle is 1' x 2" It would make an interesting belt if you want conversation about your belt.there are possibilities. The leather is dry and old, so I'm not sure how much strength it has; the buckle works smoothly and as it should although the pin is slightly loose and I don't know what use over time would do to it.

Antique dome top trunk with original key working condition interiors clean to bare wood and sealed two coats all the original hardware is there the four casters it rolls on are there. New period leather double stitched handles original covers hinges are strong and tight closes smoothly to latches does lock I did just clear remove and reattach lock so you have to press at the bottom front of lock it works don't get nervous it's smooth as butter. Trunk is new top to bottom has a few bruises that have been attended to at the base of the tin at base I'll send photos restoration is professionally done. I went through trunk inside and out. You get what you pay for online this was several weeks every day a few hours your getting my best. 1800's Cedar Chest/trunk Hand Carved Dark Wood front and org lock/key/hardware
Antique Cedar Trunk with Walnut Carved Design- From what I can see. This was hand made from Cedar with a walnut carved veneer overlay on front. Original lock and Key. Key is a single tooth, hollow barrel metal Skelton key. Hinges appear to be original, but I am not certain. Small dovetailed joints with distinct un-matching groves validate the 1800's age I believe to be when it was made. Another strong indicator is the patent number on the back solid panel dating it around 1844. This piece is not in perfect condition, but I would say PRETTY DARE GOOD! A Ladycomet Refinished Flat Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/Key&Tray
Nice Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Working Lock& Key and Original Multi Divided Tray Here is a great refinished flat top steamer trunk from the late 1800's to around 1900 or so. We are calling it a flat top although there is a very slight factory arch. These are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 30 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 22 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This beautiful trunk is made up of poplar base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to protect it and give it a nice appearance. The wood is in pretty good condition although there are some typicl distress marks or character marks. These include older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. Just about all of ... morethe trunks that we refinish have some of these older distress marks. This one comes with the original working lock. We did find a key that will activate the lock mechanism. The front latches are original and work ok since the springs are intact. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. They are sturdy. The metal parts on this trunk are not brass. If they were, we would have semi polished them. Very seldom do you come across an American made trunk that has all brass hardware. The metal parts on this trunk have been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. This lovely trunk would make a great gift for a loved one on any special occasion. The new owner could store their personal belongings and collectibles inside the trunk and later in life pass it down to the future generations. Going to the interior, we have removed the paper lining since it was worn out looking. We then have given the interior wood two coats of polyurethane. This trunk come with the original multi divided tray that rests at the top edge. Store items in this tray, then lift it up and put more items deep inside the trunk. Antique/Vintage Large Brass Skeleton Key Trunk/Door/Church Rare 1700-1800s 9
Here is a large Brass skeleton key. Probably a church key or possibly a trunk. Or large door key. This key is hand-made and dates from the late 1700s to mid 1800s, possibly older. The key measures approximately 3" long, the handle 1 1/2" and features a very intricate bit shape and a heart shaped cut out made out of solid brass. Here is another very large iron. Open-barreled skeleton key. Probably a jail key pre-Folger Adams style locks or possibly a trunk, or large door key. This key is hand-made and dates to the 1700s and possibly older. The key measures approximately 4 3/4" long, the handle 2" wide and the barrel over 1/2" across! The keys I am listing are from the estate of a local collector. I do not see any maker marks. Please check our other auctions regularly for newly posted items. Antique Eagle Lock Co. Steamer Trunk Hollow Barrel Key number 178 from an estate auction. The key measures 1 1/2 inches long and is marked'Eagle Lock Co. very faintly at the top and'178' below. There is a dark patina from age and very tiny areas with the beginnings of rust. Shipped FREE via USPS with appropriate care. Thank YOU! Atkinson& Long MFG- Everlasting Lock- made in Petersburg. VA Number D61 for either a Steamer Trunk or Foot Locker? You are bidding on two keys. These belonged to my father who has since passed. We cannot find the trunk. Footlocker, luggage, or whatever that goes with them. I am only guessing that they belong to the"trunk" family because of previous keys sold on Ebay are similar in type and manufacturer. Please do not bid on them if you do not recognize them as such. Up for auction we have another wonderful antique trunk recently refinished on the outside. It measures: 34 x 20 x 21.5- and will provide wonderful storage for home or office. Inside is original paper lining- fresh smelling. Slightly curved top- perfect for plants. Coffee cup, magazines, or other decorations. Originally canvas covered and we removed the dried canvas- sanded the pine wood smooth, and treated it with Tung Oil- handles have been replaced and are nice thick leather ones- trunk is solid and will make a statement in any room of your home. Beautiful Refinished Dome Top Steamer Antique Trunk w/ Tray, Label,Lock & Key
Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Trunk with Working Lock and key. Here at Trunks-n-treasures we take pride in the trunks that we refinish. We have refinished hundreds of trunks. Each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very nice, clean refinished dome top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside. We then removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This gorgeous trunk is made up of pine wood with oak slats. Once we removed the metal we sanded all the wood and then applied tung oil to it as a finish. After much research we have found that tung oil works best because it replenishes ... morethe wood and prevents it from drying out so quickly. On this trunk are two new Amish leather handles. The latches on this beautiful trunk also work to keep the lid secure. The latches have the patent date of July 9, 1872. The lid of this particular trunk also has the original manufacturer label in great condition. Also on the lid there is trunk stay to keep the lid open when wanted. The lock for this trunk comes with two working keys. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has also been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. We have also made a tray to fit the inside of this trunk so you have two levels of storage. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look along with painting the metal black. The size of this trunk is perfect for its use as a hope chest to keep all your precious belongings in. This beautiful trunk would look very nice placed at the foot of a bed. ANTIQUE STAR TRUNK LOCK SMALL KEY - HARD TO FIND - 19TH CENTURY
This is an old key for some Star Lock Works trunk locks that have the straight vertical slot and the April 1877 patent date(see pictures) The key measures 1 1/2" long and is the style that fits many of the smaller Star locks. It may not work for every one of these but they have worked on the ones I have had in the past. It is an original Star Lock Works trunk lock key. Very hard to find. Note: There is a larger version of these keys which fits larger size Star locks. Used on many regular size trunks. This key was found in an old drawer with other keys. Vintage Wooden Flattop Doll Trunk with key
This item is a very nice vintage antique flat top doll trunk. It measures 18" in length. 10.75" in width, and 10.75" in height. This is a very nice cute doll trunk. I t has all the original hardware. There are a couple of cracks in the wood but hot unusual for a trunk of this age. It has good leather handles. It also has a key for the lock that works.
