Standing on bun feet. The chest has 3 drawer all of which are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and all benefit from having their original key escutcheons and later turned wooden knobs. This is flanked by decorative fluting and carved corbals. The top is all good with no significant marks or scratches or marks. This is a lovely solid piece of furniture which would compliment the bedroom of any home traditional or modern. It has a distinctly Neoclassical presence to the form, the drawers angular and layered with stepped-corner panels of a lighter shade flanking a molded sphere around the keyhole escutcheon. The corner columns of the frame are deeply fluted, the lower portion stop-fluted with large reeds over the turned and tapered feet. The feet are also fluted in a bold and exaggerated manner, giving a sense of strength and personality to these small feet; the result is very successful, the feet actually being a significant embellishment to the overall form. The case of the commode is joined with tenon-mortised framing around chamfered oak panels that sink into miters and prevent splitting from shrinking. The only shrinkage split in the case is the top. As this was naturally affixed more permanently with pegs. This is a simply outstanding find that remains in well preserved condition; a form that simply never goes out of vogue. Small 3 Drawer Letter Chest Cabinet Pine Wood Antique 14x11x6 Tabletop Holder
This listing includes an old three drawer cabinet from a local estate. The drawers have small. Medium, and large slots in them that are lettered from A to Z. I assume they have to have been used for a printer's"letters" but I don't know for sure. This is a smaller cabinet than normal for that purpose. It measures approximately 13 3/4" long, 11" wide, and 6" tall. It appears to be hand made of solid pine. The piece is structurally sound with no breaks or weakness. It does have scratches and dings in the finish that can be touched up some if the buyer wants. I have left the cabinet as I found it. There are a few stains and some debris in the drawers. Primitive spice 8 drawers chest - knotty pine - southwestern look handcrafted
This is a one of a kind handmade spice chest with 8 drawers. I don't know the kind of wood but looks to me like knotty pine on the drawer fronts. It doesn't show any signs of wear so I doubt it has been used. I detect no odors. It stands 13" tall and 4 1/2" front to back. Each drawer front is 3 X 4 1/2" and the drawer itself inside is 4" X 1 1/2" tall. The knobs are handmade pegs and they stick out about half an inch. They used little brass finish nails to construct this and the little holes are visible on the drawer fronts. There are three holes for mounting it to the wall on the rounded top. This has a very Southwestern look to it and I can see it being very happy in a Western décor. It is heavy and so shipping will be calculated for you. Any questions please contact me.

Bought this from a sutler friend back in 1993 while re-enacting at Fort Niagara. Youngstown, NY. This is a very nice period[American Rev.War-F+I War] campaign chest made of pine by the sutler mentioned. He did a wonderful job on this piece and made it to period specs.made all the hinges by hand out of tin! As stated, there are some dimples on the top and a few light ones here and there that are really not bad-do not detract from the piece. Since this is made out of pine, there will be times where you will get a mark or two on the wood as the wood is some what soft by nature. I did put 3 coats of poly varnish in this at the time of purchase. This has always been lightly used inside and has never been outside in the field. It measures 24" long by 10 3/8 wide at the molding, 22 1/2" long by 9 3/4" wide at box proper-outside dimensions. ... moreInside dimensions are 20 3/4" long by 8 2/8" wide, is 7 7/8" deep-top has same length and width and is 1 3/4" deep. ANTIQUE PINE BLANKET CHEST DOVETAIL MED. WOOD TONE BUN FEET, 1800-1899, AMERICA
This is an uncommon size for a blanket chest in that it is approximately the same height& depth of the most usual chests. However its width is considerably more narrow. Placed among others, its uniqueness is readily apparent. The glove box is narrow and when open, will hold up the chest's lid. The corner dovetails are all hand cut. The bun feet tops are inserted into the base of the chest, with quite wide protrusions. Parts of the chest appear to be single board. It's a nice early piece that will generate interesting looks and conversations. Weight is guestimated about 40 pounds. Dimensions are- 31-1/2"W x 22"H& 19-1/2"D. I can deliver to a local shipper. Beautiful- very nice pine chest- see pictures. The edges are jointed(don't know the specific name for this craftsmanship) but clearly work of a master craftsman. The lock and key are definitely a different era. Small storage box built inside. My wife inherited this from her grandfather's estate. We don't have the room anymore. I looked up similar items for pricing $500-1500.00. Size is 46x26x26 inches. Not certain if this is truly an antique or a reproduction. The hinges on the lid are modern but appear to have been replaced. This piece won't last. It's great for decor, or for storing blankets or winter clothes, or for odds and ends. Vintage WW2 German Army Pine Chest. Vintage Pine Trunk Coffee Table Rustic Chic Vintage WW2 German Army 1940's Pine Chest Trunk Constructed From Thick Cuts Of Solid Pine. Making It Very Heavy, Chunky Dove Tailed Finish, Steel Latches And Handles Either Side. With Military/National Symbol On The Inside As In Image 5. 6 and 11 This trunk would have been liberated by the the British army once the war had finished and the British army set up barracks/camp in Germany. On the top it has the name of the British captain who would of used this trunk for his personal items. I would of normally had A trunk like this stripped back to the bare wood and waxed. But I feel its just to historical to remove any of the original paint. You could of course have it stripped back and waxed up, and it would great. I personally like its vintage wears. It is 42' wide X 26 1/2" deepX 25" tall.It is VERY HEAVY! Up for bid is a beautiful antique Pine Blanket Chest or Carpenters Chest. The chest measures 34 inches wide x 17 inches deep x 16 inches high. It has a raised top. The chest was refinished in the 1950’s. It is a nice warm brown tone on the outside and the interior is painted a pretty blue. It has the original iron handles on the sides and the original hinges. With the exception of the locking hinge to hold the top open. The chest has a split on the raised top. And the normal nicks for an antique piece, the all over look is very good. You are looking at an antique blanket chest which is at least 100 years old. Auctioneer stated it was over 50 years old at auction sale in 1959.and there was quite a bidding challenge. Was looking for a trunk.but we decided right away to get this chest when we saw it. I kept my quilts in it. Probably from Scandinavia we were told and that got me even more interested. It is pine and heavy.has dovetailed corners.Wood pegs.no nails, nice iron hinges, rope handles and is a whiskey colored wood. There are three curved pieces on the top.and on the inside there are two wide planks on the bottom. There is a key"plate"but there was no key with it. There are signs of wear here and there on top.scratches.roughness.etc.nothing excessive. The heavy wear shows on the bottom edge and this is shown in the photos. The width of chest is 30 inches, ... morethe height in front 16 inches, the depth at side is 20 inches, height at dome 18 1/2 inches. This chest has been in a bedroom at foot of bed and contained old quilts.perfect for them. There no marks of I.D. as to country of origin. It is a darling chest. Very cute handmade pine chest. 10-1/2" tall 12" across. Has 6 drawers.
