Vintage Doll House Bedroom white painted chest of drawers MARKED Tynietoy
I recently acquired a box lot of Tynietoy dollhouse furniture. Tynietoy was a company started in Providence RI about 1935. They were in business for only about 20 years. All the pieces are hand crafted and hand painted. All the pieces I am offering are marked and this one is no exception. However. This little chest is a bit of a mystery. It has three drawers that don't have pulls. They are nicely painted but the finish is flat, not like the top which is original. They look a bit too new. Could they be replacement drawers? It seems like a lot of work but I just don't know. I am offering this for what it appears to be and only that. You decide. It would still work nicely with other Tynietoy pieces. Sold as is! I am listing it without a buy it now. This is a 1:12 scale set. It is 2 1/2 inches tall. 3 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inch wide.

Antique painted miniature chest/trunk/possibly sailor-made/mid 1800s
I am very used to seeing chests of this design in a large format. This is a little one. It's an antique sea-chest style chest in green paint and decorated with motifs very typical of sailor-made chests. It may very well have been made by a sailor for his wife or daughter. I would say it dates to the mid-1800s. The top carries 4 hearts in the corners and a five-pointed star in the center. There are two stars on the front section- one in each top corner. I would say the green paint is original to the piece. Size is great. Allowing the buyer to put it almost anywhere. The top is 17&1/4" across and 11&1/2" deep. It is 8" high. Condition is as shown. Please look at all photos to form your own opinion of quality and condition. The decorative elements are applied(possibly paper) and there is some loss. The star on the ... moretop looks to be painted. The stars on the front look to be applied. There is a very old crack on the back which shows wood loss connected to it on the inside. I purchased this chest from a dealer friend- as it was missing the red trim around the top, he very recently replaced it with new wood and did his best to match the original red to the trim on the lower portion. I think he was successful because the chest shows very well. Overall, based on the design and diminutive size, this is a special little chest that would fit into any folk art or marine collection. It is a sweet little trunk with splashes of small dots of paint on most of the outside. The lock on the front is long gone but it retains it's original hinges in the back. There is a split in the wood on the top of the lid that does go through to the other side of the lid- the chest is still sturdy! The lid of this trunk is slightly domed shaped but not so big you couldn't set something on top of it. There is a split in the wood on the bottom of this trunk that is slightly loose. There is a small chip missing out of the wood on the bottom right front of this trunk as shown in the pictures. This trunk is clean inside and no funny odors. There is edge wear. Splits, lock missing, ... morepaint loss, paint faded and more but none of this takes away from the beauty and sweetness of this little miniature blanket chest. American Green Painted Antique Blanket Chest, Pennsylvania c. Mid 19th Century
AMERICAN GREEN PAINTED PINE BLANKET CHEST. PENNSYLVANIA 19th Century with Dovetailed Feet Signed on bottom"Jonas Cros.y" and inscribed in lid"Amelia Saltsmon" Item# 1409AIU01P This is a wonderful early 19th Century painted blanket chest from Southeastern Pennsylvania. The surface dry and worn with an early green paint. The surface is plain and undisturbed with embellishment, the whole being deeply oxidized and full of charming wear. The construction is standard and uncomplicated, the exterior of the case crafted of six broad planks of Eastern White Pine, the sides and bottom joined with exposed dovetail construction. The base is affixed with a series of small pegs and the feet are delicate little brackets with exposed dovetailing to the front and sides. Likewise, the molding around the top is affixed with pegs set at regular ... moreintervals, the lid lifting on original wrought iron strap hinges affixed with mostly original screws. The original steel lock and catch survive in the case, though no key is available. The till is somewhat unique, the outer edge lifting in grooves on either side to reveal a compartment below the till- the lifting wall is not unusual, but this usually reveals drawers instead of this tidy compartment. The bottom of the case is inscribed in a now faded ink"Jonas Cros.y" the J and the C both being quite accomplished with extensive swirling. This form is easily incorporated into modern decor in so many ways. Including as a coffee table, an entertainment stand beneath a flat screen, while also working wonderfully in front of a period bed as it was intended. It is a striking piece that will certainly be cherished in your home for a lifetime. Large Antique German Hand Painted Legged Wedding Chest Trunk
Up for sale is a beautiful large sized German hand painted wedding chest measuring 32" tall. 49" long and 26" deep. I had sent over by container from England to the States. I am not sure about the year of this chest. There is one wooden bar inside the side of the chest to hold the top open with four small legs each measuring 2" tall.The outside is painted in a maroon color with floral designs in blues and greens. The backside of the trunk is painted in a light blue color as shown in the picture. This would be a lovely storage chest for blankets or clothing. Antique China Trade Leather Bound Camphor Trunk Chest c 1800s Painted Blue Brass
Outstanding China trade camphor trunk. This timeless lift top chest has been bound in turquoise colored leather and painted with a floral design that really makes it stand out as a decorative piece. The edges have been framed with brass nail heads and the edges and corners have brass bracings as well. The top is lifted with a ring-shaped handle and there are simple metal bail handles on the sides. A shield-shape escutcheon surrounds the lock in the front. The inside of this piece is clean and uncovered. Based on similar pieces. The trunk most likely dates from the latter half of the 19th century. Overall. This piece is in good antique condition with no structural issues. There is some wear and damage to the leather, most notably a hole in the back, some tiny holes in the central design on the top and a rip to the leather on the bottom of ... morethe lid at the front. Scarce Early 1900 Faux Oak Grain Painted Fireless Cooker Chest
Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Scarce antique Fireless Cooker Chest. Dates to the 1910s or 1920s or so. Great primitive piece. This was used in the early 1900s as a slow cooker. A person would bring a pot to boil on the stove and then insert the pot into the insulated fireless cooker. The person would come back hours later and the meal would ready after slow cooking in its own heat. It is wood clad in metal which was hand grain painted in a quarter-swan oak pattern. The grain painting is original to the chest. Pic#2 shows closest to chests true color. The chest has its original caster wheels. It has its original double hook latches and hinges. When opened you see 2 round insulated lids with handles. There are NO pots. Or stones(some had stones to help hold the heat) included, what you see is what you get. ... moreIt is in very good condition for age. Appears all original and untouched. There is wear to the grain painting from almost 100 years of handling and use(mostly noticed on top of lid from use and things sitting on it) Staining on the lower base and the top of grain painted surfaces. The wear only adds charm and character to this piece. The is solid. As mention NO pots included. Nice primitive Folk-Art appeal with the original grain painting. You don't find early 1900s fireless cookers very often.Could make an interesting wine cooler,beer chest, or coffee table. ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED CHEST TRUNK WITH DATE 1876
We are relisting this wonderful chest because we did receive payment for it. This great antique chest came from the estate of an antiques dealer in Connecticut. The family was disposing of some of the pieces since the house was being renovated. This chest has a wonderful look with its aged patina and hand painted design. The front shows a date of 1876 but no one knew what the represented so it may not have been from that era. The colors are still good with some paint wear and streaks. The side panels have a red& black geometric pattern that shows lighter than it actually is. There are slight remnants on the top from some paint but it is difficult to see. The chest is dovetailed with square nails. Some of which are missing. The hinges look like replacements but are hand made and old, one has partially broken on the inside. There is what ... moreappears to be the original lock and escutcheon but no key and the top section on the lid is missing. There are splits, cracks, chips in the wood and there is surface wear as indentations/gouges but they have been worn smooth over the years from use. Some of the square nails are loosening. The inside of the top and bottom have sharp"nail" points sticking out with some small pieces of a paper or material that probably lined the chest. There are signs of a couple of small repairs made many years ago. The chest measures approximately 34 1/2"W x 16 1/4"D x 13"H. This is being listed as"For Pickup Only" please email with questions. GRAIN PAINTED BLANKET CHEST MADE OF CEDAR w/TURNED FEET
HERE IS A BEAUTIFULLY GRAINED BLANKET CHEST. IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL LOCK AND TILL INSIDE. THERE IS SOME DISCOLORATION ON THE TOP AND MINOR DINGS. IT IS 36" WIDE. 19" DEEP AND 22" TALL. THE CHEST IS ON FOUR TURNED LEGS AND IS MADE OF CEDAR. YOU CAN SEE THE GRAIN INSIDE IN THE PICTURES. THERE IS A LOW RESERVE AND THE BLANKET CHEST CAN BE PICKED.
