A metal lock and metal strap hinges. It has dovetail corners and a storage compartment inside the trunk. It is in good condition but does have some rough spots. Including some bug holes, and some end boards that have dried and warped a bit on the domed lid. It has its original paint featuring grain painted designs. The chest measures about 59" long, 23.5" front to back at the top tapering to 21” at the bottom. The chest is tall and slim– would work well in a small bedroom. Bathroom or even in the kitchen. Measurements are 44 1/2 inches high by 28 wide. Depth is 16 inches. It is 100% wood with dovetail drawers as they always did in the old days. The artist has used Annie Sloan English chalk paint in 2 beautiful shades of blue– Provence& Napoleon& finished it with clear wax. This 18th century Adam style English jewelry chest is in unrestored condition. At it's widest it measures 13 1/2' It is 12' tall and 6' deep. All of the hardware is original and intact with the exception of the mechanism that keeps the left door closed. it is missing. All do the veneer is intact with the exception of the lower right of the left door near where the locking mechanism was The missing piece is just under 3/4' wide and less than 1/2' tall. There is a 3/4' tiny piece off of the body of the chest on the top left front corner but the piece is in one of the drawers and can easily be put back. The surface is all original with spots of wear. MID-CENTURY HOLLYWOOD REGENCY PAINTED LINGERIE CHEST BY HENRY-LINK#6977 Up for Action is a Lingerie Chest that is made out of solid wood and has a yellowish painted finish color as seen in the photos. The top is a formica type surface. This Chest is in really good condition. However. It does have some minor paint chips and what appear to be some minor stains on the left side of the chest and one of the drawers. The two front legs have some bumps and bruises that can be seen in the pictures as well. It was produced by Henry-Link furniture manufacturer. This Chest has dove-tailed drawers that are made out of solid wood on the inside and they all work smoothly. This Lingerie Chest has a classic mid-cen tury Hollywood Regency sty le design and the handles have an antique Fr ench frosted Brass-finish. Yellow Pine Secondaries Untouched original condition Item# 130002FHK19 This piece is simply a treasure- an untouched and entirely original American Federal Period Antique Blanket Chest crafted during the first quarter of the 19th Century. Almost certainly in Pennsylvania. It features six-board construction. Every junction dovetailed for a permanent and flexible join throughout. The surface is dry and well patinated, almost certainly the original painted surface; the history of this antique blanket chest, how it was enjoyed and used over the last two hundred years, is tattooed in the stains, abrasions and oxidized scars across it's fine dark red painted finish. The top projects over the chest with applied molding along the facing edges. This ... morewith a scratched-channel giving form to the molding, the lid lifting over original square iron hinges with untouched screws. The iron lock and catch are still original to the chest, though the key has since been lost; a crescent is worn in the underside of the top where the lid of the till has scraped over the years, this same surface inscribed" Jennise A Bowman" Vanessa C. Roscoe" along with earlier mostly illegible inscriptions and numbers. Bringing harmony to the molded top is the opposing molding of the base. This stacked with a bead over rounded molding with a scratched-channel over the bracket feet. The dovetailed feet are crafted such to showcase the most attractive perspective of the dovetail on the forward facing surfaces; the sides join the front board with half-blind dovetails, leaving the forward facing surface of the board unblemished by visible dovetailing. This ia a beautiful antique painted chest(cir. 1920's) that I bought in Maine. The front has painted figures in a landscape with flowers. Etc. It is exquisitly done. There are three small drawers and two large ones that are all dovetailed. It is very heavy and well made, and has wondefully detailed knobs and pulls. There are a few pieces of molding missing around the drawers and a few minor chips and scratches to the surface that are due to the age of the chest. This is a very nice hand painted chest of drawers with a writing desk to the top drawer. To the front it has superb carving with carved pillars to either side. Under the paint work is walnut. The drawers are solid wood with dovetail joints. The desk interiors is satinwood with a secret compartment with a slide over the top. There is a marble to the top. Antique American Grain Painted Miniature Chest of Drawers Pennsylvania Early
This sweet bit of Americana measures 20” tall x 17” wide x 9” deep and boast 4 molded drawers with dovetailed construction(front; square nail back) and thick hand chamfered drawer bottoms. The sides feature raised panels with compass corners and graceful cuts repeating the profile of the front skirt. It is primarily pine with tulip poplar back; some of the drawer bottoms are pine and others poplar and retains its original heavily distressed dark grain painted surface overall. The porcelain knobs on the top drawer are original; the rest are modern replacements. It has some“dog chews” I don’t know what else to call them) on the front corners and some general flaking of the paint. There is a missing piece of molding on the side. Antique & Primitive Six Board Footed Painted Pine Blanket Chest, Box, Trunk 47"
I get most of my items at estate auctions and sell them in an"as found" condition. I do no repairs. Alterations and very little cleaning. This is done in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible. Because the items I sell can come from anywhere. I can't guarantee they all come from smoke free environments. DESCRIPTION: The existing color is mustard but there are several colors underneath. Including a coat of blue and another coat of salmon. One of those two is probably the original color of the chest. It is not a dove-tailed chest but it's tight and sound. It does have damage on one of the corners of the lid(see photos) and there is some evidence that some gouges on the lid were filled at one time, and not an expert job. The piece is old enough that the the hand plane marks can be felt on ... morethe interior. The piece probably is no more recent than the mid 1800's and could be older. It is about 47" in length, 16" in width and about 17 1/4" in height. It comes straight from a farm barn near Odessa, Missouri. The metal handles are original but the hinges are not and do not match. Please do not ask for this item to be shipped. It is for local pick up only. No exceptions. A handling charge of $1.50 is included in the domestic shipping costs. A spectacular antique hand painted chinese trunk dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. Possibly earlier. Wooden construction with a canvas/vellum type material covering the entirety and stitched into place. Wonderful once vibrant palette. Now tastefully muted with the passage of time, depicting traditional scenes. All patterned surfaces are hand painted. With the traditional application of a raised, quasi three dimensional faces. As can been seen, some beautiful, time related distress to the paint work which gives the object a credible and appropriate look for its significant age. This large trunk has a beautiful patina. It appears to be in excellent condition with the noted scuffing and scratching that comes with age and transport. The paint in the address is bold and bright. Hardware is all there and has a beautiful patina. Large key is original to the trunk. Hinges are sturdy. Has been used for the past 20 years as a blanket chest. Measurements: 44.5 inches in length 19.5 inches in width 13.5 inches deep 21.5 inches from base to top of dome Base of chest measures 45 inches in length and 18 inches in width Handles measure 4.25 inches in width. Antique Oak 2 Drawer Chest Black Painted Sides Country Style
This antique two-drawer chest has tons of character. The wood looks like oak and has been painted black on the sides and around the drawers on the front. Panelled sides and an overhanging molded top as well as molding at the base. Drawers have intricately designed metal pulls and there are circular wooden escutcheons surrounding the two keyholes. Sorry. No keys! The drawers have been assembled with strong doweled joints. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. The front corners of the overhanging top have broken away and there is also damage to the framing of the drawer fronts on both sides. Paint and finishes look original, but have some significant wear to them. There are also some small holes in the top that look like they were made by nails. Exquisite grain painted cottage chest with the best colors you will ever find! The colors work well with both dark oak and pine since they are very neutral in tone. Grain painting became popular in the mid 1800's when immigrants moved from the northern areas if the US to the west. The west didn't provide the fine wood sources if the north(maple. Oak, cherry etc) So they made the chests and furniture of pine- and often feather painted the surface to appear like the rich nice woods available in the north! The detailing on the drawers is wonderful. I posted a photo of the drawer edge because the chest drawers are put together with dowels.
