Description: EXCEPTIONAL. Early 19th Century TIN DOCUMENT BOX, in Original condition. CHROMOLITHOGRAPHIC FLORAL DECORATION. Done in a classic TOLEWARE Style, is still 90% or better complete, better than I have ever found in this area. ALL ORIGINAL. The colors of Turquoise, Red, and Yellow, though now muted with age, are still relatively bright. Many of these old Tin boxes were faded over the years, or worn, so were then handpainted over the decoration. This one is ALL ORIGINAL, and has never been altered or painted over. Even the TRIM lines are still relatively complete. Again. There is WEAR and muting, but still very very discernible and bright, without being garish. Large-domed lid still has most of the golden TRIM around it. Even the golden DECORATION around the top handle is still nearly complete. SIZE: Approx 9 1/2" long. 8 3/4" ... morehigh. Not counting handle. 6 1/8" deep. CONDITION: Very very good. Best I have ever had. HOWEVER, the LATCH is MISSING. I can pick up by handle and it stays closed, when EMPTY. One small, 1" sep at back. Solid Pine Blanket or Hope Chest - Hand Painted Farm Scene - Signed
There is no maker mark on the chest. It could be homemade folk-art but it appears to be too well constructed to come from a hobbyist. Being pine. I am confident it was made in the US. I am not sure on age but it is not antique, maybe 1980's. It is the beautiful farm scene that sets this piece apart from other chests. It is signed Brenda. The paint is in excellent condition(not popping, peeling, etc. with only a couple blemishes. The only one worth noting is a dark circle in the sky that is shown in the photos and is smaller than a dime. The artist cleverly used the wood grain to represent the ground. The chest is generally in excellent condition but, like anything used and especially with pine, there are a few blemishes. Nothing significant. Beautiful Brown Painted Wicker Chest, Dresser, and Mirror
Beautiful painted wicker chest/dresser/mirror set. They are several years old but we painted them and gave them some nice new hardware a few years ago. All pieces are in great condition. Chest is about 24 inches wide. 20 inches deep, and 56 inches tall. Dresser is about 37 inches long, 18 inches deep, and 32 inches tall. It also has a custom-cut piece of glass that fits on top to protect it so you can put stuff on it without damaging the wicker. The mirror is about 19 inches wide and 28 inches tall(including the frame)

RARE 1800's(It may be 1700's) ANTIQUE EARLY America FOLK ART HAND PAINTED TRUNK BLANKET CHEST Very old and yes I WILL SHIP TO YOUR ADDRESS Up for sale is this amazing hand painted trunk or blanket chest. It's a beautiful trunk with tons of character and that true folk art flavor. Many trunks that were highly decorated like this were wedding trunks but who can know? It has a hinged lid as you can see in the pictures. The trunk has red white and blue with some green accents. The paint appears to be painted over what appears to be a green trunk that has some Romanian name lettering on the front. It was probably a trunk that originally came over by ship then painted by the owner after getting to America. This is all original and has nicks. Chips and scrapes, and worm marks on it as you'd expect from an item of this age. The painting ... moreon the front and sides is very colorful and worn through several areas to base color. Wow! That's amazing! The trunk is wonderfully hand painted. Inside. The trunk is clean. There's a little tray on the left side inside, and it still has the original cover or lid to the tray. One of the hinges on the lid of the trunk was replaced at some point but is still old. The hardware on the sides is old and ornate. There are no square nails in this trunk that we can see and there are a number of worm holes at the bottom of the front and under the front lip. This is typical for old trunks like this as they've been around the block(and world) It's an nice size and is 39" wide(at the lid) L x 16" W x 14" H. It weighs about 50 lbs. we'd guess. This is a very nice trunk for those of you who love Primitives or folk art. It's one of a kind! It would certainly make for an interesting conversation piece. Thank you for looking at this item. This very old box has some history. I'm just not sure what it is. It looks as though it may have originally been decorated with inlaid shell and then painted over. It has some type of thin metal lining that is peeling away. The overall height is 11.5" and 13.25" wide, 8.25" deep. Inside measures 6.5 x 11.75 and almost 9.5" deep.
